This park does not have a private parking lot, but does have free street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. This park is not in the best of neighborhoods and is not well maintained. It is relatively small, about a half an acre. They have a full basketball court, that is ok, but the cement has a lot of cracks. There is also trash all over the grounds especially around the picnic table. The park has a playground consisting of a jungle gym with a small slide and even smaller monkey bars. I saw what appeared to be a memorial for a kid that died up against the fence by the basketball court. It consisted of some flowers and an Incredible Hulk doll. There are no swings, outdoor restroom facility, or water fountain. The center piece of the park is a Family Center that can be rented for special events. The Center is open from 1PM to 5PM on weekdays and Saturdays from 11AM to 3PM. They host events such as story time and crafts and had a toy give away. They offer dinner and second helpings from 3 to 4PM.This park has potential, but needs some money pumped into it and regular grounds keeping like other Indy Parks get. This is a decent option if you live in the surrounding neighborhood. However, given the many options I have when it comes to parks, I probably will not be back to this one any time soon.

Pride Park is located just a few blocks south of Prospect Avenue on the city's south east side. The small park has a family center that takes up about half the lot. The other half consists of a single basketball court and a small playground with climbing & sliding equipment. The playground uses mulch underneath the equipment. No outdoor restrooms or shelters are available. The family center is only open weekdays between 2 and 7 pm, offering homework help, arts and crafts, and "Games Galore". No fees are charged for the family center activities.Review #552
