The hospitality was really excellent-- nice people doing everything very well. What a nice break from nasty chain hotels that allow animals. Fortunately, none of the latter here. Good to know a filthy dog was not in my room the night before. We'll definitely return to Prairie if we find ourselves in the area again. We'll done, folks!

Unfortunately, we were only able to spend one night at the prairie house - as a girls 1/2 weekend! The room was perfect for us for one night. If we had stayed longer- it may have been a bit crammed. Beds were not super comfortable but worked! Walls are very thin- as expected in a bed and breakfast. Breakfast in the morning was wonderful and they were beyond accommodating to our nutritional needs! So thankful for that. They do have a cat in the main house. As someone that is deathly allergic to cats- I wasn't able to go into the main eating area. Luckily, the weather was great! And we were able to sit on our patio where they served us breakfast!

Prairie Guest House is one of the most unique accommodation options on Indy's northside, for a few reasons:+ This bed and breakfast is located in a restored 1850s farmhouse, with spacious guest rooms and unique decor in each.+ Fresh, homemade breakfast made by the owner John each morning in the guest house with an original L.S. Ayres tea room table and a bright porch where you'll want to spend the morning.+ A yoga studio on-site, available to guests for a $10 drop in fee or to the general public. Owner Karen teaches!+ Convenient location in Fishers across from Conner Prairie, one of the top local family attractions. Can't speak highly enough of the homey, personal experience you will get staying at Prairie Guest House.

I can't say enough about John and Karen's absolutely delightful BNB. This is a BNB akin to what I remember from my youth - full of quaint charm, coziness, warmth, and absolutely scrumptious comfort food to match. Every morning (for about a week), I would jump out of bed eager to zip next door to their gorgeous breakfast quarters to see what chef (and owner - he was donning multiple hats while we were there during COVID season) John had created. The first morning's masterpiece was a quiche that I shall never forget. Beautiful settings combined with fresh cream and scrumptious teas and a different fresh country breakfast prepared especially for us each morning - heavenly is the only word to describe it. John had a delightful way of filling us up with lovely conversation, yet also giving us space while our coffee and tea soaked in. Karen has done a beautiful job of decorating the Prairie Guest House, and Karen and John's cat Fiona added to the charm.I slept wonderfully well there! My husband and I stayed in the Bransfield Room and enjoyed the private patio just outside our door. When I heard a bit of noise from above, a fan was delivered within minutes. There is a shared small refrigerator in a common area of the house that we conveniently used. I also appreciated many of the books that are kept around the home.Self-check-in easily accommodated our late-night arrival. The location was perfect for us, close to my in-laws whom we were visiting. Everything we required could be found nearby. I plan to stay here again and again. It is just the perfect combination of privacy, charm, and adorableness.Thank you for a really wonderful stay, John and Karen!

The egg casserole for breakfast. The chocolate mint tea. The yoga studio in the backyard. Walking distance from Conner Prairie. Historical decor and feel of the property. All of it. From the minute I made my reservation with Prairie Guest House they made the experience so warm and meaningful. This new addition to Fishers boasts a historical and rural flair that makes you feel a world away from the city. The rooms range from two twins to queens with en suite bathrooms. Each of the rooms has a unique flare that stays in line with the history of the home. In the communal spaces of the house you'll find a hefty book collection, stationary and Kuerig coffee cups. Yoga classes are offered throughout the week but you can also schedule private classes. The full breakfast is offered on the weekends and kicks off at 9am with juice, coffee, tea, jams, eggs, bacon and potatoes. Their egg casseroles are filled with veggies like asparagus and zucchini. Note: they're aiming to convert the barn into a venue in 2016 for events (perfect setup for intimate weddings).

Excellent getaway destination for our anniversary! My partner and I loved the homemade pancakes and omelets with homemade blueberry syrup, and we had a wonderful restful weekend together in the lovely Frederick room. Super spacious bathroom and a huge comfy king size bed. The Guest House is also right across the street from Connor Prairie and restaurants are all over the place, so there are plenty of things to do! So glad to have found this gem of a place for a little stay-cation just north of Indy!

My wife and I had an excellent stay here earlier this month. We were in town for a family gathering, but all of the bedrooms in our family's houses were full, so we needed accommodations. The room was a bit tight but entirely comfortable, and it didn't matter because we spent very little time in the room (looking around the morning we checked out, when most of the other rooms were empty, it appeared that there were several rooms that were more spacious). We were arriving late at night, after their office hours, but the hosts were able to accommodate late arrival, just leaving the key in the door for us uponBreakfast is served in a cottage across the way from the historic building with the guest rooms. The food was flavorful and in reasonable quantity -- choice of teas or coffee, an orange/cranberry juice, a few strips of well-cooked bacon, a couple of pieces of sweet bread (mostly date bread), saute;d potatoes and onions or on one morning broccoli, plus an egg course that was different on each of the three mornings -- once it was an omelet, once a quiche, and once scrambled (I ma no a scrambled eggs fan but this worked for me).

I had the pleasure of staying at Prairie Guest House this past weekend. I found this bed and breakfast to be beautifully quaint, quiet, and inviting. We stayed in the Atkinson room which was tastefully decorated and very clean. I loved that it had a back door that led directly onto the wrap around porch.Yes, the hotel was beautiful, but another important factor in my five star review was the staff. Both Tami and her husband, James, were friendly and super accommodating. And did I mention Tami's cooking? One would think that an omelette is an omelette and potatoes are potatoes, but the way Tami prepared breakfast was oh, so delicious! As we ate our breakfast we tried guessing the ingredients so we could try it at home. Luckily for us, Tami generously shared her recipe for both her omelette and potatoes. Just good, down home cooking! If there was one down side to our stay, it would have to be that our schedule didn't allow us to stay longer. Next time we visit (and there will be a next time), we will definitely extend our stay.

This review is for the new yoga studio! What an adorable space. I just love the wide windows and airy feel. Beautifully repurposed to help you get centered and find your zen. Located in the guest house side of Conner Prairie, the studio is a perfect addition for guests looking to get a flow on during their visit.

If you are a business traveler or if there is any chance that your plans might change, stay away. They are completely inflexible. In today's world with so many options, you should stay where the owners understand that things change, and they want you happy. Being a small business is not an excuse for poor customer service, particularly in the hospitality business. After traveling all day, I arrived around 9:00 in the evening. There is no one on premise to greet guests in the evening and no one answers the phone after 4PM and they apparently do not listen to messages until it is convenient for them. There is no way to reach anyone. The next day they returned my calls and shared that they expected me the next day. Probably my bad but I would have loved to have spent the night there if someone had been on site or answered a call. I had no choice but to find another place to stay that night.I understand them keeping the deposit, but they refused to refund my payment because I had not canceled EIGHT DAYS in advance. They are quick to say that they strive to give each guest a pleasant experience, but they do not back that up. They rank as the least customer friendly, inflexible business I may have ever worked with. After trying multiple times to get them to refund my payment, they pointed me to their rules and refused.
