Trust me... It's worth the hype! My husband and I had a great time unplugging from life and spending time with each other and our pups. There was plenty of space for our 2 night trip. They provide the essentials for cooking, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, dog tie out, books, cards, a "lockbox" for your phones and games that help you connect. They have firewood, smores kit, and coffee/tea/hot chocolate available at your site (for an additional charge). All of the houses are nicely spread out so you have complete privacy. They provide info on local trails and things to do. Super easy check in and check out process. The house had great A/C, a flushing toilet, and hot water in the shower. Perfect place for the non-camper too!We did bring: a small dog bed, personal toiletries, groceries, off spray, and only a couple of outfits (no need to overpack). There's a long, narrow, winding road to get there. From the main road it's about 10 minutes. Once you get there it's all rock.

Book. Book now. Book for this season, next season, next year, two years from now. Just book.I'm a tent camper but my friend rented this for the weekend and mama mia my oh my is is just magical! It is ruralllllll y'all. I am talking winding and hilly roads (yes, out we have them), deep in them woods. Like to enter the area you have to go to a dead end kind of deep. The tiny camper is just so stinking cute and I will never get over it. Emphasis on tiny! It's designed that way. But wow is it so smart, so well designed, and has everything you need - sink, stove, kettle, cooking utensils, mini fridge. There is no microwave or toaster. The comforter is so cozy! Everything was pristinely clean. They have a fire pit, wood to purchase, and even s'mores packets! It is just about 20 minutes to Brown County Park and Nashville making it the perfect place.

I needed to get away from it all. I needed peace. I needed nature. I needed to be able hear my thoughts above the craziness of everyday life. I needed to get away. Now truth be told, I am not necessarily a camping kind of gal but I definitely love nature and being out in the woods communing. Getaway cabins gave me everything I wanted, and even a few things I didn't know I needed. This collection of tiny home/campers, near Ogilville, IN, provided so much more than just a place to stay. It provided me sanctuary. When I got to my mini home away from home, I was pleasantly surprised. Each site is nestled in the woods, not too close to neighbors, but not far enough away that you are concerned you will be the first victim in a slasher film. Your tiny house comes with a fire pit, Adirondack chairs and a picnic table. It also comes surrounded by wooded trees filled with the sounds of birds calling and chipmunks scampering. While the wind wafted lazily through the tree branches, I opened the door to explore my new lodgings. The little cabin was the perfect retreat. A queen sized bed was placed next to a huge window so you could lay in bed and dream amongst the trees. There was a little table for eating, or in my case, writing. The cabin kitchen had a 2 burner cooktop, sink, and fridge. There was a small bathroom with a modern shower and commode. The size of the place was a bit smaller than a standard motel room, but the natural wood walls and large windows made it feel much bigger. What stood out was the care with which this was all put together. From the lovely welcome note from staff, to the many included amenities, this was comfortable from the moment I stepped in. Not only do they provide linens and kitchen essentials (even a corkscrew), they provide paper towels, salt and pepper and even olive oil! They are dog friendly and my furry friend was also welcomed with open arms. He was particularly impressed with the dog bowls waiting for him as well as the very tasty treats left with his own note of welcome. My two days flew by and I can't wait to go back. Getaway is just that, the perfect Getaway.

Oh my goodness, if you love the outdoors and need to get away (pun intended), book your stay NOW! My husband and I stayed overnight last week and it was the most enjoyable experience we could have ever imagined. This was our mini-moon, having just tied the knot at the end of October and it was perfect!Booking was easy and everything you need to know is provided via text, email and in your cabin upon arrival. I was excited, but hubby was a little apprehensive since he's never been camping and had sworn that he never would. Oh, the things we do for love! The address provided got us to the destination without a hitch. We arrived at our cabin and punched in the code provided. We were in! The cabin was just as pictured online. Everything was very clean and the amenities provided definitely surprised us. I brought items that I could've left at home. Maybe I didn't read everything, but there was a lantern, a Bluetooth stereo system with radio, books to read, sugar for your coffee or tea, foil, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner...all things that I'd packed, but really didn't need. The first night, we hung out around the fire pit (we'd brought a couple of Duraflame logs with us, but decided to utilize a bundle of wood they provided as well - it was $8) enjoying some adult beverages and roasting marshmallows. Listening to the wind and the sounds of nature was soothing and mind-clearing. It definitely felt like the kind of self-care that everyone can benefit from. It got REALLY dark after sunset and a little spooky, so we used their lantern along with 2 of our own. The cabins aren't as distant from one another as I'd thought they'd be, so you can definitely see and hear your neighbors. The document left in the cabin for us reminded us to be mindful of our volume, but not everyone was.Once inside for the night, we showered and prepared for bed. We'd roasted some sausages over the fire, but were still a bit hungry, so I prepared some Velveeta shells and cheese that I'd packed. Cooking in the tiny kitchen was more efficient than I expected. We slept like babies in the very roomy and comfortable bed provided. We did have a few insect friends join us, but that was likely due to us keeping the door open and running in and out of the cabin all evening long.In the AM, I prepared coffee for him and tea for me along with bacon, eggs and mini donuts and then we were off to explore the property. My pajamas definitely smelled like bacon afterwards due to cooking in such a tiny space, perhaps you should open the door for better ventilation. We stayed in Taj (the name of the cabin), which was near a cul-de-sac, so we headed towards the main entrance to venture into the other "neighborhood". That's when we saw the sign for the Nature Path. I wasn't aware that there was one onsite, but we were thrilled to go for a little hike. It was a bit of a walk to the path and the path is very long as well. It wasn't difficult, but for someone who has a sedentary job and who hasn't been to the gym in a while (ME), it was definitely a workout! We got to commune with nature and see some wildlife. It was truly amazing!Thank you Getaway Cabins for a wonderful experience and for the personalized note you left for us. We will always cherish this memory and intend to visit again really soon!Sidenote: They have a loyalty program too! With the Getaway Often Club, once you stay 7 nights, your next night is on them; isn't that awesome?!

Within the last six weeks, I had a major surgery, my mom passed away, and we had her service. I needed to get away to just think. My sister recommended this place, and it was absolutely amazing. It was so cozy. The scenery of nature was breathtaking. Traveling through the back roads, it definitely didn't seem like I was still in Indiana. The ride was tranquil and very relaxing. My only suggestion is to put dogs in certain cabins because I ended up itching and sneezing all night because of the pet dander. I sent them a text explaining. They apologized and said if I book in the future to let them know and they'll try their best to accommodate. I can send you a discount code if you're interested in visiting. I'll definitely be back.
