Popped into the pro shop to do some shopping. Evan -- who might be the coolest guy you'll ever meet at a golf club -- helped me and was simply awesome. The selection is terrific, and I was glad to buy two , unique shirts by Under Armour. I'm looking forward to going back!

Really nice course, especially at sunset. Carts are all in great condition. Good deal on summer evenings, tee time prices are slightly cheaper.

I think this course deserves a better overall rating. It's a fun challenge with a great layout. It's a bit pricy but what else can you expect from Carmel. Carts are top notch here with leather seats and built in touch screen computer to give specific distances. I always enjoy my rounds here!

Had an enjoyable time at Plum Creek, greens, tee boxes, and fairways were in good shape. staff was great. Played on Indy 500 weekend Saturday, cleaned the cart after the round but when I checked my bag the following week, I realized that I left my AOFAR rangefinder in the cart, it's inexpensive so no big deal. The staff tried to located it when I called but no luck. So facilities, course, and staff A+. For the person that got our cart and keep my rangefinder, instead of turning it into the pro shop. YOUR A TOTAL DICKHEAD.

Played here on a Friday with beautiful weather. Really liked the course, was well maintained. The golf cart did get a little sassy with us about being too slow. Only bathroom is in the clubhouse, so don't get caught out on the other side of the road!

This is a nice course for the average golfer. Wide open with serious water hazards on only 3-4 holes. Very pleasant terrain, well marked course and a nice clubhouse in the middle of the Plum Creek neighborhood. I'm a fairly new duffer and appreciate the ease of play here. Golfers in my group shot their normal low to mid 80's. $49 for 18 with cart. This includes a small basket of balls (30?) for the driving range.

Plum Creek is situated on the quiet, upscale north side of Indianapolis (about 10 minutes north of the Keystone area) . The course --designed by the renowned Pete Dye-- is on a open setting. The course is challenging while not punishing; and scenic even with the lack of natural features (what would you expect for Indy?).The folks at the club seem friendlier than most, eager to go out of their way to accommodate and generally just reflect ol' fashioned Midwestern good nature.Technically if you are on your way to [play] this course, you're not going to opt out based on this review. If you are reading this, I know you'll be having a great day and a great time on the course.[end]

Love this course!. Great layout and condition, challenging but fair for all skill levels; excellent value for the cost of greens fees. Don't miss the 19th hole.

I played Plum Creek this past week with a free voucher from Golf Now which I use to play courses I wouldn't normally due to pricing or distance. This course fit both categories as it is a one hour, fifteen minute drive from my house and is well above my normal $30-40 18 hole round with cart. The course is situated around some very upscale neighborhoods which takes a middle-class hacker like me a bit out of my element. The staff couldn't have been more courteous both in the pro shop as well as in the bar and grill downstairs. Every contact we made with course staff was professional and friendly and they all made us feel welcome and like we belonged there. Before starting off on our round, we hit the driving range which is short clubs only. The range is cut off by hole 11, a par 3 that cuts across to meet up with the rest of the course. It's a good warm up range but you won't be working on any drives or longer shots on it. The process is automated and there is a ball dispenser on the range that you scan or manually enter a code you purchase to receive your balls. I was a bit curious how the price could be so high for range balls (I think it was $4 for 30 balls) when the hut they are dispensed from clearly states that the range is sponsored by a car dealership. That was a first for me. I've never seen sponsorship outside of a scramble or other event on a golf course, especially not one trying to be this upscale. Either way the range itself was nice and spread out well so it could be used by several people comfortably. The putting green was next. It's large and spread out with a great balance of flat putts and harder to read undulations. It reads/plays pretty close to the same as the greens on the course, which is nice. They also have an approach practice green with bunker if you would like to warm up your pitch/chip and bunker shots. We skipped that one as our tee time was up so we headed to the first tee.We looked over the scorecard and I was surprised by the sheer number of tee locations on this course. It has Championship - 6,970 yds, Tournament (which is a combination of tees at the champions and tees at the members) - 6,550 yds, Member 6,354 yds, Masters - 5,830 yds, Green - 5,403 yds and Forward - 5,195 yds tee locations. We are used to white tees being the "men's" average golfer tee box so we went with that one. In hindsight, we should have probably played the Members tees as the white tees made for a very short course. At 5,830 yards, the white tees at Plum Creek are probably the shortest we have played this year. My home course is 6,219 yards from the White and it's about right. The error was ours as we didn't look at total yardage. The course itself was well kept and enjoyable to play. There is a water hazard of some type on a good portion of the holes but some of the hazards don't really come in to play such as hole 2 with the pond next to the tee box. If it's in play for you, you're having a very bad day. I found myself in more than one bunker and actually hit out of it since they were well cared for, actually sand and the rakes were out. The sand is my weakest part of my game and it continued to be at Plum Creek but it wasn't because of the bunkers, I'm just terrible in the sand. The signage throughout the course is fairly well placed and keeps you on track most of the time. There was one point where the signs didn't really help and we just happened to wander in the right direction to stay on track. I believe it was going to hole 7. At the point we were a little lost the cart paths crossed one another and the only sign was for people coming the other direction. Other than that one time, the wandering, criss-crossing nature of some of the tee boxes/holes wasn't an issue. There was a beverage/snack cart running around the course the entire round which was a nice touch. The prices were reasonable and it helped keep us on the course at the turn instead of coming in for a drink. I wish more courses did this sort of thing. The pace of play was great on the front 9. We finished it in an hour and forty five to fifty minutes. We wound up following a VERY slow group which was also following a VERY slow group starting around hole 7 which put our back half at well over two hours with a good amount of time standing around waiting for what appeared to be nothing more than banter between golfers. In all, I would say the course is pretty average as far as how it plays but it is in great shape. I gave the course a mid rating because of the value aspect and the overall layout of the course. As great as the course is, I feel like the normal price of $60 on the weekday and a staggering $70 on weekend is set merely to keep the "less desirable" golfers off of the course. I'd play it for $45-50 without question. In my opinion, the round should come with range balls at a minimum at the current price point. I may up it a star for either change.

The layout lacks intrigue on the majority of holes, so I cannot justify giving it more than 3 stars. The practice facilities are among the best in the area, as are the course conditions, but while it is a pleasant place to relax and work on your game, and I can certainly recommend it for that, it is far from the dramatic championship layout you want on a day when you're feeling adventurous
