This was the first time that I visited this place and I will definitely return...thanks to food and service being quality! When you walk in your visual senses are greeted with a pleasant balance of decorations that give it sitting out on your patio vans chilling with friends vive. So, a pleasant atmosphere to hang with a friend or more while eating yummy food.Speaking of food...normally when I go to a Thai food place, I order pad Thai. This time, I felt like venturing out. So, I chose something with garlic in the name. Let me tell you, it didn't disappoint...it had all the things I enjoy...beef, onions, and cabbage...all drenched in a garlic beef broth sauce...with a side of rice (I liked the rice on the side because I could control how much rice was in each bite). Every bite was an exciting experience for my taste buds!!!What made this whole experience complete was the service was just the right attentive to laid back vibe. I should mention, we were approaching closing time for them...so, I picked up the speed of my eating...the owner noticed this and told me not to worry and to take my time....which was so kind of him to do!!!Highly recommend going...you won't be disappointed!

Phaya Thai Street Food is a locally owned little bistro with wonderful Thai food near the entrance to Fort Ben. The dining room is lovely, with lots of plants and subtle decor. The tables are spaced far enough apart so that you can have a conversation. Light rock music plays in the background.I stopped for lunch with my husband. The servers are amazing, greeting you with a smile and a cup of the best lemongrass soup. We order from the lunch menu and since the food is prepared fresh, it takes about 15 minutes. The food is worth the wait.I have the Drunken Noodles with chicken and it comes with a hot and delicious spring roll. The Drunken Noodles have lots of fresh green beans and cabbage. The dish is perfectly spiced with a nice heat. My husband has the Chicken Pad Thai which is a generous portion with wonderful flavor topped with peanuts. We love our lunches. The dining room fills up quickly and a lot of pick-up orders go out the door. There are a couple tables out on the sidewalk. Restrooms are immaculate.

Best drunken noodles I have had. The noodles were chewy Maybe they could be cut a little smaller. But the flavors were everything you want in Thai food. Veggies were fresh. This place is busy!

This restaurant is located close to the Fort Harrison State park. I go to the park a lot and this is a perfect spot for lunch after hiking. When I went there on a Saturday, the server was doing a hostess's job too, stating that it is only her on the floor that day and service is slower than usual. I really appreciate the heads up. Then we decided to do take out instead, and the food didn't take long. I think they are priced fair. I ordered Pad see ew, and liked it. A little too salty- it's the kind that makes you very thirsty afterwards. I love the location and will probably go back. Just note, they are closed on Sundays!!

A must stop spot if you're looking for amazing Thai food in Lawrence! We walked over to Phaya after exploring the Fort Ben Farmers market. We were seated immediately and quickly ordered.I love a good pad Thai and this spot has it! Make sure you know your spice level because this dish brings the heat if you choose spicy!

I stopped here for lunch and was glad that I did. The restaurant has a decent sized dining area and a few tables and chairs outside in the front of the joint to eat on. There is a modest parking lot available to that it shares with other businesses in the small strip mall that it is located. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. They were also attentive and courteous. The restaurant serves deletable dishes including noodle dishes, rice dishes, chicken, soups and spring rolls. Be sure to ask about their daily specials when you visit. I ordered the crispy chicken, which came with rice and a spring roll. It took about 10 to 15 minutes for me to get my food. They brought me water and a bowl of some of the best broth that I have had. It was unique and amazing. My food was absolutely delicious. And there was a decent portion. I got the hot heat on my chicken and it was just right. It had a little kick, but not too much that detracted from the chicken. The rice was fresh....and this is coming from a person that does not eat much rice. The spring roll complimented my meal very well, which never stood a chance. The food here is reasonably priced and grade A delicious. The service is top notch and I really enjoyed my meal here. I highly recommend checking this place out.

I was in search of some shrimp fried rice, but better than the everyday fried rice that I am used to having from some takeout spots. Phaya Thai did not disappoint me. Located in Fort Ben, this restaurant was buzzing full of customers, both carry-out and dine-in (but mostly, dine-in). My food was slightly pricey ($29), but pretty good. I ordered crab rangoon and shrimp fried rice with an order of their house soy sauce (+$1). The crab rangoon had an excellent crisp to filling ratio and paired well with the sweet chili dipping sauce. Would definitely order again! The shrimp fried rice was tasty all on its own and, honestly, didn't need the extra soy sauce that I'd bought. There were plenty of shrimp and the portion was nicely sized. I will be revisiting, and I recommend giving it a try.

We got there for an early dinner. There were very few diners there initially, but it filled up pretty fast.I feel like they are better at take out orders than actual table service. Our server seemed pretty new, so I tried to be patient, but with every course we had to ask for utensils to serve/eat, extra plates, and more water. It got pretty old. We were sharing dishes and had soup, so serving utensils seemed like a reasonable need.We asked for the green curry mild as that is my aunt's preference. It was at least Thai medium which was very spicy for her. The other dishes we requested to be mild were, in fact, mild, so I know it it possible. The flavors were tasty enough. The eggplant dish was my clear preference for the evening. Tom kha w chicken was tasty. Green curry was too hot for her. Eggplant was delicious. Crab meat wontons were okay. I would give it another shot.

I. And back a few times, and I always order the same dishes. Unfortunately, the dishes don't taste as good as my first visit.

The food here was amazing, it was fresh and flavorful. I had the basil fried rice and yellow curry. Both were very delicious, seasoned well, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The spring rolls were very good and fresh. It was almost like they made them to order. I also have the Thai lime tea, which was very good as well but kind of sweet. The service was amazing, and everyone was very helpful. The food came out in a timely matter, and the food was priced very well for the lunch menu. The place was also very calming, and they had lots of beautiful plants.
