Pappy's Barbque

Pappy's looks and tastes the part of a good BBQ spot! I stopped here for a quick, take-out lunch and enjoyed it. I opted for the pulled pork sandwich, spicy sauce (comes on the side) and the cheesy taters. Honestly, cheesy taters were the star of the show; they were creamy, full of flavor, and the potatoes hadn't been overcooked to mush. The pulled pork was good. There's plenty of seating inside. You enter in through what I'm assuming is their overfill seating area, so it might leave you feeling confused as you enter an empty restaurant. Décor is basic with a bit of local flavor. Pappy's is a good option if you're in town!

Hidden gem this place is! Lucked up spotting this location when looking for a place to eat in the small town of Brazil. When I walked in I was quickly greeted and sat with my two colleagues. The server is someone that takes her job seriously. She was extremely attentive, she walked us through the menu pointing out her favs without us asking even letting us know how to make the standard better with slight modifications.The food came out quickly and it was fantastic. We all loved our food very much. I ordered the potato with chicken. 10/10. I ate so quickly I forgot to take photos but just trust me...

This is our second time at pappys but the first time we went was three years ago. We thought this was a MUCH better experience. We thought their menu was updated and had A LOT of things we wanted to try. We had a sampler platter where we got to try jalepeno poppers, fried pickles, chicken tenders and burnt ends. The Jalapeño Poppers and Burnt Ends were 10/10 and a must try. The fried pickles were spears and I prefer chips. The chicken tenders were your basic chicken tender but good.For dinner we got the meatloaf, sloppy Sow (pulled pork with Mac and Cheese), and brisket grilled cheese. We liked all of these. The Meatloaf was very special and was the favorite at the table. It also came with two sides. The brisket on the grilled cheese was VERY tender and easy to bite. I wish the pulled pork had more juice on it but it was also good!For sides we got fries, cornbread, and cheesy potatoes. The cornbread was HUGE. The fries were delicious. Not your basic from the bag fries.Will 100% be returning.

We were actually surprised at how much we liked Pappy's and how busy they were in downtown Brazil. We stopped on a whim on a weeknight and they were out of most meats and sides - but that's on us. What we did have, we really enjoyed! We didn't care much for the sides that were left, but they were running out of stuff as we were ordering and we had to keep changing to less and less desirable options. The chicken and burnt ends were excellent! We can't wait to go back for lunch and try their full selection.

Had the Brisket Mac and Cheese skillet. The mac and cheese is phenomenal and the food came out very quickly. The brisket was pretty good. The waitress was very nice, and Pappy's has a nice country atmosphere with great barbeque

We had a rack of Baby Back ribs and Meat trio dinner. I can only say. WOW it was good. Best BBQ we had in a while. The homemade Honey BBQ sauce is real good. Well done peeps

Food was really good and portion sizes were very fair. Will be back again to try some of other menu. Menu had alot of choices for everyone.

Jan. 9, 2024 went to Pappy's for lunch today. It was bad. The fries I got with my smash burger were cold, the smash burger comes with onions and pickles, there was maybe 1/8 tsp. of diced onion on the burger, and the bun was stale. My friend got the brisket, mac n cheese, and cheesy potatoes. His brisket was cold, and fatty, the mac n cheese was cold and tasteless, and the potatoes were swimming in a diluted cheese sauce, also cold. Big waste of money. Never again. And last but not least...have you ever been to a BBQ place that did not serve cole slaw?

First, if this review implies that I live in San Francisco, CA, I assure you I live locally and visited Pappy's in Brazil last night (August 3, 2024). I will never go back to Pappy's. I can't say anything positive other than what little pulled pork I got actually tasted good. We arrived probably about prime supper time (5:30ish), and they were busy, frazzled really. People dropped things very loudly a couple times before we were seated. They put us in the east half where there are tall windows with no window coverings whatsoever. If you are facing the windows, you can't see the face of the person you're sitting across from. They are in complete shadow. I ordered the pulled pork mac and cheese skillet ($9.99). My husband got the large pulled pork dinner ($13.99). Once we got our food, our waitress did not come back once to check on us. Not once. The size of the mac and cheese skillet is ridiculously small. When questioned, the "front manager"? (not the restaurant manager, although I asked for the owner or the manager) said they put 4 or 5 ounces of pork on it. Maybe 4 and that's pushing it. You could easily make a small fist and hold it all. Maybe a cup of mac and cheese? It had no cheesy flavor at all. A runny, tasteless cream sauce. Maybe if I had salted the heck out of it, it might have tasted like something. So, with probably a 6" skillet, I finished my meal before my husband was a third of the way through his, and I'm usually the last one done. He gave me his Texas toast-- also, flavorless. No seasonings on it, just a smear of butter. Plain, tough, chewy toast. About the time my husband finishes his meal, our waitress finally notices I've been watching her. She asks if we want anything else. Yes, the owner or the manager. Here's the bottom line-- they took the price of the skillet off the bill, offered me another tasteless skillet, interrupted me several times, and made empty excuses. I couldn't even have my say because they just wanted to make excuses. The original waitress brought over the revised bill. When I handed her my credit card, she rudely swiped it out of my hand. I'm sorry you're a terrible waitress. I'm sorry you think I'm an awful person. I'm really just a paying customer with average expectations, and you have no clue how to treat me. When I tried one more time to tell her that she didn't even come back once to check on us, out came the attitude. No apologies, mind you. At least the "front manager" did apologize, and offered me more bland, tasteless food. No thanks. So, this is why I will never go back to Pappy's. Thank you for reading this. I feel a lot better.

This is a very good and fun bbq place. Full selection of the typical bbq choices, though not always is everything available on a given night. Good service and very good food.
