Papi Chulo's Cantina

I'm still on the hunt for great tacos in the Bloomington/Spencer area, and unfortunately, these tacos weren't it. They tasted just like Viva Mas. I've been craving juicy carnitas tacos on a classic corn tortilla with cilantro and onions, but every place I've tried falls short--the carnitas aren't juicy enough, and the corn tortilla can be overwhelming at times; too much tortilla. That said, the salsa flight was excellent, and I'd definitely come back for that. Next time, though, I'll be skipping the tacos. Everything else was fine. Service was good, and the restaurant itself was quiet but kind of dark.

Papi Chulos is a nice find in the small town of Spencer, IN! I hade the carna asada tacos and they were excellent, possibly the best tacos I've ever had and I've ate a ton of em!! The service was fast and food came out just as we ordered. We don't get around Spencer often but next time we do we will be a returning customer!!

The BEST thing that EVER came to Spencer, Indiana. I'm originally from Southern California and this is the first time I've had California Mexican... like super authentic! Do yourself a favor and get the Dip Trio (Salsa, Queso & Guacamole), and the Queso-Birria-Pizza... talk about flavor and one of the best things you'll ever eat!!! It's practically a Mexican pot roast, melted into a quesadilla with birria sauce to dip it in. Don't forget the napkins!!!! The atmosphere is so cool too! We have always had excellent service, practically reading our minds before we ask for anything.

Food made me sick the few times I ate it. Service is nice tho and it is noisy inside.

Food was excellent.. especially the tamales!! We were here in the middle of the afternoon, but service was still good and fast.. and the restaurant has a great theme in their decorations... overall, a great place to eat!!

The ONLY thing wrong about this place is trying to decide what to order. Everything I've tried in the MANY times I've been there is incredible. My favorite restaurant EVER! The food comes out of the kitchen so fast it's a quick lunch. The waitstaff is wonderful and the prices are worth every penny!

My food was delicious. Others stated their food was tasty.The service was great. Drink refills were given without asking.The restaurant was nicely decorated and fairly new, I think. We were out of town visiters. There were 5 of us and everyone had a pleasant experience.

Really good food!! Had the chips, salsa and guacamole. Surprisingly delicious for these standard fare items. Special on margaritas was nice and the peach had great flavor. I had the quesa-birria which was outstanding - foolishly ordered a side of refried beans which were good but SO MUCH food! Hubs had seafood enchiladas which he cleaned up and reported they were really good. Service was super pleasant and attentive despite us sitting outside. A lovely experience all around.
