Original Spaghetti & Sub House

Back in the 80s when we were cruising the Wabash wearing argyle socks and ISU preppy sweaters, this was the go-to for a bucket of spaghetti and bread. That's all we ever ordered here. But they have so much more! On a Homecoming visit stopped here for a hot sub, and it was delicious!! The meat was fine, the tomatoes and banana peppers were fresh, but the fresh bread roll was incredible! Some of the best bread I've ever tasted and yet it was served in a clamshell takeaway box. Local owners and their family members run the place. Lovely husband/wife couple were super nice and provided excellent service. I will stop here again for sure.

A long hidden secret in Terre Haute, Indiana Home to some of the best Betty spaghetti you'll find anywhere. Don't let its modest surroundings fool you, the new owners are super friendly and the restaurant is neat and clean. Haven't had a bad meal yet! Spaghetti /meatsauce &meatballs, garlic bread, or cheesy garlic bread, are some of our favorite meals Bucket feeds four people in our group.

Food and service are great! It's a little "hole in the wall" with really kind workers and hearty/comfy food. Thoroughly enjoyed the baked spaghetti and Italian sandwich. Yum!!

This place is great! I passed this restaurant tons of times but never stopped until last year as I didn't know much about it. So I stopped on my way from my residence in Indianapolis to my parents home in Vincennes. Got a to go order of a bucket of spaghetti with their sweet Italian garlic bread. It was a big hit for all of us. For one, they give you a lot for the money. It can certainly feed a family of four for just $14. The sauce is plentiful and very robust. However, the biggest hit was the bread. THE best garlic bread I have ever had. It tastes like Kings Hawaiian but it is a garlic loaf. It looks burnt on the outside but don't let that fool you as it certainly is not. Perfectly cooked. The outside of the place may look old, outdated, and ragged but don't let that deter you and stop here!

I love this place. I really only ever get the meat ball sub with banana peppers or the bucket of spaghetti with meat sauce and bread. I've had other items throughout the years but those are my go-to's. The bread. Heavenly. It's been that way for as long as I can remember and I've been eating there for the past 30+ years. Prices are great. To me this restaurant is better than all of the other Italian restaurants in town.

This place is like going back to 1986. The prices, the decor, the staff! No frills good Italian-American food. My son loves the spaghetti and meatballs, along with the generous portion kf garlic bread they serve with it. I must say it is some of best garlic bread I've ever had, and it's cheap! The place is small, but you don't go for the ambience. It's cheap eats that will leave you satisfied. I always get the Deluxe Pizza Bread. So effing amazing! My son and I ate for under $15! It's a tradition for us now. I grew up a couple of blocks from here and loved it on the 80's and 90's. Nice to roll in town and still get the same great food that doesn't dent the wallet.

I'm seriously upset with how the establishment conducted their business. I ordered a bucket of spaghettI, meatballs, 2 loaves of bread and a half order of Alfred. A 40.00 meal. When I receive my bucket the noodles were freezing cold. I immediately went back inside to question why my food was cold. And the answer I got was "if you mix the cold noodles with the sauce it should warm them up." they didn't offer to exchange the noodles or give me something that was more fresh. I'm very disappointed with the service.

I have not been to the restaurant for quiet some time and I won't be going back. The bread was good however it has been cut down to half the size for the same price. The meat sauce on the spaghetti was so watered down it literally drifted in a little stream across my plate and had very little taste to it. Disappointed when a restaurant changes hands and the quality of their food goes down hill.

the guy who helped us was the nicest person. not to mention that the food was AMAZING! Definitely try it out.
