They were supposed to cater my friends wedding and they were a no show. Left a lot of hungry guests and my friend had to call and get spaghetti ordered at the wedding to deliver. PLUS. They are refusing to refund for 4,000$ deposit

Several months ago we established ahead of time we wanted a venue that would allow us to bring in a caterer & bartender of our own. We found Hidden Hollow and they were wonderful. When interviewing Once Upon A Plate, they confirmed we could supply all liquor & 'rent' a bartender(s) from them. They have their catering license, not just a bartender license. We'd use them for all meals over the (3) days. Victoria was unresponsive. Two weeks prior, Victoria with Once Upon a Plate told us the venue wouldn't allow us to provide the alcohol. This was a lie! We saw the text conversation from the venue & Victoria. At this point, Victoria informed us they had to provide alcohol which would now be 8000! We went with a third party that saved the day 5000 less than this and they were a true pleasure to work with. Once Upon A Plate was to do the rehearsal, reception, day after b-fast/brunch. They were to serve wine/beer for the rehearsal and mimosa's for breakfast. Rehearsal: The food was terrible. The chicken and beef medallions had no sauce, dry, & not what was ordered. The green beans had absolutely no taste. They forgot the salad & said Victoria didn't tell them there was one. Reception: Very stressful ONLY because of the Caterer. They were to be at the venue at 5:00. Per Victoria they left at 3:30? Victoria answered no calls but obviously had her phone since she'd respond to texts. this was typical. Cocktail hour was at 7:00. They didn't show up until 6:20! Victoria text everything was ready & would be set up on time. When guests arrived in the cocktail area, there were NO appetizers. Our coordinator could not get the staff on site to respond to her. The servers simply ignored her!!! One adult and a teenager. Therefore I (MOB) intervened. They had the appetizers with the dinner buffet & said Victoria didn't tell them. They finally moved the food for appetizers after guests stood around for 15 minutes. Thank goodness for Bourbons & Brews mobile bartending. Appetizer's were actually enjoyable but you can't make a meal from jalapeño poppers. For dinner, we were to have a taco bar with chicken, chorizo, & pork. Our first taste test a year ago, they ordered it from a Mexican restaurant & passed it off as their food. We let them take another stab. After the second taste test, we knew exactly what was expected as did Victoria. We couldn't have been more clear & patient. After the head table & first table (35 people) the buffet was completely out of chorizo! more than 100 didn't have access. The pork was fair but not what we taste tested. The chicken was not what we taste tested & guests said it was awful! The chicken not only tasted terrible, it looked disgusting. Kinda like a cat regurgitated it after drinking a V-8. Guacamole? This was cut up avocados & most were brown. Very unappetizing. There was no salsa, only hot sauce. With a taco bar, meat & toppings go on a tortilla correct? In a world using common sense, tortillas would be at the front of the buffet? Originally the servers put it at the end after the meat and toppings. We said to move it. They then put it in the middle AFTER the meat. In what world do you put tortillas after meat or toppings? They then had an attitude when we requested they move it? Leftovers were to be bagged up and weren't. Expectation was set they were to cut the cake & they left!! The coordinator, myself, and a guest were left to cut it & serve it. Nothing like missing some of my daughter's reception. Breakfast: This was to start at 10:30 & they showed up 10:30. Most guests were on time and present. There was NO coffee which was to be provided. The server who showed up with her husband AND child said Victoria didn't tell her? OJ was in individual bottles? They were to serve mimosa's & didn't. Since mama server arrived with her hubby, it would make sense for her to stay & he run out for the coffee. Nope, they all left having a family reunion to get coffee. More than an hr later, they returned when guests were leaving. They left cleaning nothing up. The presentation were foil pans that were bent. The sliders were burnt & uncut. Syrup in single serve containers like you'd give five year olds. I can honestly say, DO NOT use this business unless you have no expectations and accept less than subpar service. The prior reviews of her not showing up concerned me but we thought it was during a difficult time and the bride had a friend that worked for them at one time. Needless to say, prior reviews weren't isolated & we are the fools for discarding them. All other vendors were incredible & tipped well. What concerns me most is all the Google reviews have been removed that clearly painted an accurate picture of this company. The review option now removed from Facebook. It was there a couple months ago. The name Once Upon Plate indicates a fairy tale experience. Unfortunately our food experience did not result in a happy ending.

They say 80 percent of success is just showing up. Someone needs to tell this embarrassment of a catering company because they failed to do even that this past weekend at my brother-in-law's wedding. The company completely ghosted a full venue of wedding goers whose only sin was loving love. This caterer is about as useful as a rusted out '92 Yugo on cinderblocks. If the best ability is availability these guys might as well be in a canoe floating in the Indian Ocean with half an oar and a hotplate with no plug.1 star is too many for Once Upon a Plate.

Sure wish we had checked Yelp to check reviews before selecting Once Upon a Plate. Wedding - 135 people, fully paid for in advance and the hors D'oeuvres and elegant dinner promised don't show up. You don't want to be scrambling on your special day running to Gordon Foods and ending up with Olive Garden. Thank you Crystal Coop (venue) for saving things!

We just attended a wedding last night where they were suppose to cater. They were paid in advance and were a No Show! Brides parents called them and were told they didn't have any of the ingredients to put the appetizers or dinner together! This is not acceptable in any terms but to let down a bridal party and all their guests is outrageous. Needless to say the venue will no longer use them as a preferred vendor!

This business catered my sons wedding and it was terrible. They were late showing up to set up, we're missing some of the food agreed upon, ran out of some food, and did not clean up as agreed in the contract. Just prior to the wedding, the owner would not return phone calls and other messages. She lied about serving alcohol and blamed others for the confusion and then tried to charge an exorbitant price at the last minute knowing to might be difficult that late to find someone else (we did find someone else that was wonderful and much less expensive). Please avoid using Once Upon A Plate for your own sanity.

Based off reading reviews, thank goodness I didn't reserve this caterer. From the get go, absolutely no communication skills. Could barely get an email back. Definitely look somewhere else for catering.
