This is a classic dinner stop. It is nothing to look at but the food is always great and the price is wonderful. Breakfast is the best, lunch is pretty darn good too.

Would give it a zero if I could. Bought breakfast there and was charged over $7 and when I got home I had a tiny amount of fried potatoes and my 3 strips of bacon was actually 1 full strip and 2 half pieces. When I complained the "manager" was at first nice but then sent me a nasty personal message.

This place is the ultimate in small town "Greasy Spoon" and I mean that in a good way! Carla is always friendly and knows all of her customers. She is usually very busy but always has time to stop and chat a minute. We go to On the Track Cafe for breakfast several times during each visit to Paris. Carla always has the place decorated so nice for each season. The food is good, hot and fresh every time. It also comes out of the kitchen fast. It may not look like much from the outside but I recommend that you stop in for breakfast or lunch is you are in Paris, Illinois!

Love this restaurant! The staff is very friendly. I have never had a bad meal. Beef Manhattan is very good. You can get breakfast all day as well. The buckeye pie is to die for.

Of the places I've tried in Paris, IL, this one has made the top of my list. It's a bit small, but that adds to the charm along with the friendly staff (Carla was a rock star!). Tried the breaded tenderloin and beer cheese broccoli soup with a nice cup of joe. Excellent!

Well they sure aren't kidding about the "on the tracks" part. If there were a window on the north wall, you could reach out and smack a train as it roars by. And indeed one roared by as we were eating, and the whole place shook. That may not be the ambiance you're after for a nice quiet breakfast, but you're given fair warning by the name of the place if not its physical location. So the food was a mixed bag. My fried mushrooms looked promising at first by their hand-breaded appearance, but they arrived overcooked. My egg and sausage biscuit sandwich on the other hand was outstanding, and my wife's lone pancake -- she was correctly advised one would would suffice -- was the size of a hubcap and damn near could have fed both of us. There's no gilding the lily here, it's just straightforward heartland diner fare served with the ambiance, service, and smile to match, for about 11 bucks each all in -- drink, tax, tip, everything.

I tried this place a couple of times. The food always tasted...stale. (Yeah, you can't hide that "home made" truck from people driving by). I figured out it's because of the huge frozen delivery they get, so most of the stuff is just warmed up. It doesn't help that the "manager," Carla, is about as friendly and warm as a frozen pit-bull. Save your money and go elsewhere. There are better places in town.
