Goetta. This was good. I don't think I would order again. Glad I tried it. You should probably try it too.
My Old Major delivery by Market Wagon.
I didn't follow directions, but it was stupid tasty. Not pictured are the chips and salsa consumed while dinner was heating.

I've purchased bacon at the farmers market to make life changing BLTs, order Dinner for 2 to pick up along with flour back in early days of COVID when none could be found, learned about Lick ice cream from them (Best. Day. Ever.), but now they have made my life even easier by offering delivery through Market Wagon. Hurrah! Great delivery experience - everything was nice and cold, ready to reheat. These tacos were probably my second favorite dinner offering behind the meatballs (which I also purchased.)

Look for Old Major at the Farmers Markets in the summer all over town! They are usually serving up Biscuits & Gravy that are OFF THE CHARTS GOOD. (White Cheddar & Chorizo in that gravy...YESSSSS!) Some markets have the best biscuit breakfast sandwich cooked to order as well. Some weeks they have a special combo of a new sausage paired with a cheese or sauce to make a delicious twist on the traditional sandwich. If one is offered, I suggest you try it because it's not around every week.During the winter, you can order the sausage on their website or market wagon. Also, you can order dinners for two on the website...these ARE complete dinners ... just like home made. The menu each week is different and you pick up at the kitchen on Thursdays! Way to make my week easier OMM.Tips:* Often biscuits and gravy are not ready at the beginning of the market, so be prepared to check if you have your heart set on them.* The sandwich can be cooked to order, but during a rush there can be a wait.* They usually have the traditional stuff (traditional bacon, wisconsin bratwurst, breakfast sausage) but specialty items fluctuate in availability. You can email or order online (you can even check online to see what they have in stock)Lucky for everyone Old Major pops up around town in various places so I can't comment on staff, parking, etc. It really depends on the venue/market!

One of the best kept secrets (and my weekly savior) is Old Major's Dinner for Two program. Every Thursday, you can pick up a delicious, pre-prepared dinner for $20. They usually send out an email Sunday or Monday with the weekly meal so you can decide if you want to participate that week (I can only think of one recipe in 6 months that we passed on because it didn't sound appetizing) and then the meal is ready for pickup between 430 and 630 on Thursday. The meals are sooo good and we usually end up having leftovers. You usually have to a little reheating, but other than that, the meals could not be simpler and it's so nice to have one night where I know dinner is taken care of and we don't break the bank eating out. We have also tried some of their sausages and bacon and have been very pleased with everything- I highly recommend the maple bourbon bacon!

I have ordered about a dozen different meats and sausages from their shop. I enjoyed trying the variety. Staff is friendly and helpful. I would recommend the store. Some of the items were good but would not order again. That is not a fault of the shop but personal preference. Glad I tried them. You don't know what you are missing until you try them. Some of the cured meat that was made elsewhere were disappointing for the money. The Adana Kebob was not a favorite. Not sure if the lamb was from an older sheep or ram but seemed a little off and musky. I enjoy middle eastern food, kebabs, etc. I have had sumac as seasoning before but the kebab was not a hit with the group. The boereors was good. The meatloaf was good. Somehow ended up with a puff pastry with what I think was bacon and leek instead of the sliced bacon that was on the order but that was a happy accident. I would highly recommend that. Not being negative above. If you bought 10 things at Kroger you never had before, you are not going to be estatic with all of them. Shop here, expand you tastes. Likely the worst thing about anything you get will be it was good but would not order X again but you will find other items that you will order again.

Absolutely wonderful! So many ways to try their yummy selections!First tried them at Zionsville Farmers Market .... Such good sausages, brats, bacon, and more. Then noticed their items at Niemann Harvest Market. Popped up on our Market Wagon home local products delivery service - tried several of the Old Major Meals for 2! Wow! What yummy splurges. Then learned we could shop direct at https://oldmajormarket.com. Now we pre-ordered a smoked turkey for Thanksgiving. Just can't get enough. Their baked bean recipe is awesome - what a treat when it's a side dish. Bacon is truly award-winning. Their salad dressing was so good with their Beef Stew for 2 meal. Now we see they have a brick-and-mortar. No excuse not to try Old Major. Quality meat. Great variety selection. Good prices. Fun options. Some unusual flavors we just had to try! Enjoy
