10/10 would recommend. If you are easily offended or don't have a sense of humor keep away. The bartender is amazing. I tipped her purely for the entertainment. I can't remember the last time I've left so much. I can't wait to go back. The wine tasting is great and priced very well. And you get a take home glass as a souvenir. It's a small space but it's great!

Had 5 girls go for a Friday afternoon. This was a blast our bartender, wine server, whatever you call it was amazing. She's funny and it makes the time fly. I don't even know if we got her real name. You get a wine glass and 5 tastes for $12. I think I ended up trying 7 because there were I few I didn't like so she switched them out which was really nice. They do not make any wines themselves. You are just trying various wines which at first was a bummer but it was nice to try some new ones I hadn't had before. We had 2 dry wine people and 2 sweet wine people and they had a lot for us to try. This place is downstairs from an Inn. It's a little dark as it's the basement but once you get used to it it's not bad. You feel like you are in a wine cellar. The only bad thing is there's no restroom. I don't know how or why but there really isn't one you can use. Not fun when you are drinking but luckily the courthouse had theirs open.

We booked one of the larger rooms with its own toilet and shower (originally held 4 cellmates). It was a great experience and the owners have done a nice job of creating a unique atmosphere. The individual cells below with the common toilet would make a good bachelorette or other party atmosphere. Would do again if we are in the area.

Unique little place to stay. Props for photos. Winery was closed when we were there. Right in town but quiet.

Truly enjoyed our stay at The old Jail Inn. The beds are super comfy. We stayed in the Bonnie and Clyde suite which has it's own bath. But do remember you are staying in a unique real jail experience. So the shower and toilet and sink are those that would have been used by prisoners. The owners have done their best to make the experience comfy. But it is a jail!!!

While the concept is a good idea, there is only one wine with their label, all the others are wines mostly from California that I could buy at grocery store. Suggestion: serve Indiana wines, there are several wineries in the central part of Indiana that are very tasty. This historic building while the basement is neat, at the same time kind of creepy. I am sure there are a lot of stories that could be told. There is not a public bathroom, quite disappointing.

Very unique experience. Drunk tank (wine bar) was a neat touch. The ladies running the inn are friendly with a great sense of humor. We stayed in the Harley suite. Not ideal for someone who is claustrophobic or a new couple that's not comfortable pooping in front of one another, lol.

Very unique location in the basement of an old jail (now an inn) that was built in 1879. Good selection of sweet and dry wines. If you lean towards the former, definitely try the grapefruit and blueberry. The grapefruit is subtle and smooth and it will instantly become a favorite; even if you don't normally like grapefruit. The blueberry is stored in bourbon barrels and gives it a kiss of bourbon flavor that is just right. And don't forget to sign your name somewhere on the walls or ceiling!

There is not a lot that I can add in the form of a review that is any different than what others have said. I did find it noteworthy though to simply say that how this winery differs from others that I have gone to in Indiana is their variety of wines to purchase. No wines we were drinking on our visit are really coming from this area nor from grapes from this area. I did the tasting and all wines came from California. But short that local experience of tasting wine from Indiana that is lacking at this establishment, they have quite a bit of interesting wine just for sale. So you could pop in, buy a bottle of wine and go. The Drunk Tank has an unexpected worthy little collection of wine options for sale that I feel deserve a shout out.

Note: My review is based strictly upon visiting the wine shop in the basement.I had a really enjoyable time sipping a tasting of dry wines in the basement "Drunk Tank". Let's just get this out there: If you don't have a sense of humor or are easily embarrassed, then the name Drunk Tank should be your first clue that this isn't some stuffy or snooty wine shop. Rather, it's a place you are made welcome with a laugh and quick wit that sometimes borders on the raunchy. No wonder I've seen bachelorette parties hosted here! The windowless cellar was literally a jail for the county and it's not for the claustrophobic. The walls have been signed by hundreds of visitors and the space at the counter for tastings holds five, maybe six total. Also note that the term winery is a misnomer: There aren't any vineyards here and the wines aren't local. I think almost all the ones I sampled (five tastings for $8) were from Napa Valley. (I didn't try the sweet tastings, so I can't say for sure where those originate.)But, if you are interested in having a fun time and tasting some really good wines, this is the place to try. My server could instantly flip from a stand-up comedy act to seriously describing each wine with an insight that nailed each tasting. Conversation was inclusive to all who were there. It seemed everyone quickly relaxed and enjoyed the entertaining experience.Would I have liked to see some local wines available? Sure. But with nearly a hundred local wineries to choose from, not every wine shop needs to carry tons of sweet wines or a limited sampling of the dry side. I will give them credit that the choices are delicious and I found myself drinking varieties that I previously had not enjoyed. You just never know until you try. Review #2697
