Ocean Prime

From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, we were treated like the most important people in the restaurant. Our waiter, Joe, was incredible! He was on top of everything (including asking if we had any allergies before taking our orders back to the kitchen). He had amazing suggestions, was kind, courteous, and very involved with our evening. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and had even joked about how we were too poor to feel that rich. The food was delicious, and for what we got, the price wasn't bad either. The whole place was absolutely amazing and we look forward to returning.

We ventured out yesterday for Valentines Day at 4:00 to hit the Happy Hour in the bar.........We scored the last 2 seats at the bar which was perfect! Great vibe in that bar. As always the truffle popcorn is very good and it's hard to stop eating!Evelyn, our bartender, knows her stuff and presented my Saphire up w 1 blue cheese olive was served with "ice on the pond" was beautiful as was the Negroni. She also served a smoking dry ice drink to our neighbor at the bar, very "cool". We ordered the Hamachi Crudo and the Lamb Lollipops off the bar menu. They were both delish. My yellowtail was the star of the show!Then Evelyn served up our Espresso Martinis (dark) to cap off the meal. Great vibe, food and cocktails with great service. Highly recommend!!!

Happy hour everyday?! Yes please!!! I hadn't been to ocean prime in years. A friend invited me out as she was in town and loves Ocean Prime. I was so happy to learn that they offer happy hour EVERY DAY.I went back again this past Saturday because I wasn't hungry and just had drinks my first visit. This time I had food and drinks. I ordered several things from the menu and will review each below. Pineapple picante- this was tasty but not strong at all. It gives spicy margarita. Their drinks are not strong at all to me. Lamb chops- yummy! These were cooked to perfection and had glad flavor.Crab cake slides --hold the cheese!!! These were my favorite thing that I ordered!! So yummy!! Short rib sliders--these were dry. They needed some type of sauce. Tater tots- these were so good! A bit salty but good! Whatever is served with them for dipping I does not go well in my opinion. I just used ketchup. Fish tacos- the tortila is hard to chew but the fish was good!! I'd skip these next time. The service is great and the bar ambiance is nice!!

The food is alright but the drinks and the atmosphere are more notable than the grubCame for quick happy hour drinks and bites before dinnerOrdered:- truffle popcorn (free): this was delicious and perfect appetizer to whet the appetite- Steak tartare (2/5): pass. went against the servers suggestion and that was the mistake. dry tartare. way too much bread. not good. not worth.- Hamachi Crudo (4.5/5): delicious and pretty plate. A little over-sauced but otherwise great- Asparagus side (4/5): perfectly cooked asparagus. We initially went to Ocean Prime to celebrate my wife's birthday with no expectation other than her choice for seafood. Based on past experience I didn't have this restaurant as one of my favorites. However, our experience today changed my opinion of this restaurant. The hostess set the tone for us with the heart felt greeting. It was sincere and my wife felt it. As we set at the table our waiter "Joe" greeted us enthusiastically which again made us feel that much more welcome. He provided an extensive overview of the menu and specials with great accuracy. Joe showcased his knowledge by allowing us to provide input and then giving recommendations to best suit our taste buds. Since it was cold outside I opted for coffee. I wasn't prepared for the coffee I tasted. I pride myself on a good cup of coffee but this coffee was amazing! I asked Joe the name of the coffee he stated it was local provider by the name of Hubbard and Cravens. I have never of it but will surely remember and find out the location. This is the closet to one of the top Jamaician coffee I have tasted in years. Next, bread was brought to the table that just as tasty as any bread I have in long time. The pretzel bread was my favorite. I could have eaten a whole plate of it. As an appetizer I ordered the lobster bisque soup. Without question one of the top soups that rivals the lobster bisque soup I tasted often while living in Massachusetts. For the main course I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass that included broccolini, Pearl Onions, Potato Purée, and Truffle Vinaigrette. Sides included Mac n cheese and sautéed spinach. By this time I was full to capacity but paced in anticipation of what was to come for the grand finale. While waiting for the main course I drunk a pot of coffee and asked for another one and more bread. Although I didn't have much room left I managed to taste the goodness of the Chilean Bass meal. Utterly melting in your mouth. I can't state enough how pleased I was with the entire meal to include the Mac n cheese and spinach. After giving much thought I have now moved Ocean Prime into one of the top 5 slots as best restaurant Indianapolis. This is based on ambiance, taste, and customer service. This restaurant excels in all areas. Please pass a sincere thanks to our waiter Joe for his professionalism and superb customer skills. Ocean Prime congratulations for a job well done and making the night memorable!

We came for my birthday and had such a phenomenal time. Walking inside, it was absolutely beautiful. We were quickly greeted by our server. She recommended a few drinks and I got the black orchid. The martini glass had an ice cube with an orchid frozen in it - i loved it! Our food was fantastic. It was staged perfectly where we had time to eat and digest but didn't wait too long. We'll be back!

We could not have had a better experience. Last night of Devour and this place knocked it out of the park. 5 star service from all the staff. Great recommendations. The pretzel bread was amazing. French onion was the perfect umami starter. Incredibly hollandaise for the oscar style filet. Steak cooked to perfection. And the mango sorbet finale for a sweet ending. We will be back

Ocean Prime in Indianapolis offers a great dining experience with a quiet, elegant atmosphere and classical music. The service is attentive and friendly. I had the New York strip with truffle butter, creamed spinach, and truffle mac and cheese, all delicious. My daughter enjoyed the dynamite sushi roll and teriyaki salmon. A solid choice for quality food and a relaxing meal--I'd definitely recommend and return!

Delish happy hour menu! We had the ocean sushi and beef shrimp tempura one. Both were wonderful. My husband was craving lobster bisque and they have a great one! ( Lots of lobster). I had a cup of French onion soup and it cheesy. **both soups are not on the happy hour menu.

Service Very slow service. We waited a long time between courses. There was hair in my salmon, that I found in the first bite, so I sent it back. Didn't want another one. The drinks were watery. We ordered chocolate Martinis . But the waiter was very kind. This is my second time here, and the first time was when they first opened. I will not be back!
