Occasions Banquet Hall & Catering

I wouldn't ever criticize a wedding reception, but I talked to the family and they were fine with it. The venue is in a small town, so there aren't many choices, but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I have never been to an event here before. The outside lighting was never turned on. The only lights in the parking were street lights. The food was okay..Not horrible, but not good either. The fried chicken was way too salty, and I normally love salty food. The mashed potatoes and white chicken gravy was very good. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. The woman bartender was not so much. The male bartender was nice & friendly. The woman was rude and not helpful at all. She told me not very nice things about the clients which is very un-business like. The family provided beer and wine and soft drinks. The cash bar was way over priced. I have gone to many events at the Casino/Racetrack, and they don't charge nearly as much for drinks as this place. $7 for a very small rum and coke. and $5 for a half glass of cheap white Zinfandel.
