O'Gara's Irish Pub

Nice place to go and have a drink. It is a smoking bar but they do have a really good venelation system that sucks a lot of the smoke up. Drinks are reasonably priced. Couple times a year they throw some big tent parties out back.

For a casual night in Beech Grove, try O'Gara's Irish Pub (affectionately called Johnny O's). It's typically filled with lots of regulars, but they seem to be friendly enough and don't stare... too much! We like going to O'Gara's because it isn't too far from our house, so we could, theoretically, stumble home if needed. O'Gara's has a decent beer selection, and as an Irish pub, they have Guinness on draft. They also have all the other drinks you would expect at a full bar... I usually go for the bloody mary because they give you nice big olives with it. O'Gara's has enough to keep you entertained for a night in Beech Grove, with a pool table, darts, Golden Tee machine and other games. You can also bring your own deck of cards or borrow their's for a game of euchre, etc. They used to have a cornhole game set up, but it disappeared. :( They serve food at O'Gara's, but I haven't ate it at a time that I was sober enough to make any judgments on it... However, a big bonus is that they actually let you order pizza from the next-door Ball Park Pizza and eat it in there(once their kitchen is closed). Go for the pizza! I do remember eating it, and know that it was really good.

The bartender was so hateful and rude that i was absolutely taken back by her treatment of my friend. She literally made the motion to silence to my friend and said "don't be rude" after we tried to make sure she was aware of us needing another drink on our order before she swiped my card. She gave no indication she was acknowledging us needing her attention until she said "don't be rude". The bartender (long haired brunette) then was found to have charged my card by an extra drink and was not able to make it right. She became frustrated and then decided to give me a wooden nickel and said "we're just going to do this". When I pointed out that I needed to sign the receipt, she slammed a pen down onto the bar and made an exasperated sigh. A gentleman who was sitting nearby gave his opinion about this interaction, and while he informed that he is merely her betrothed, he apologized for her behavior and confirmed that her behavior was out of line. I will NOT be returning to this establishment. Ever.

Fat leprechauns and loose women. Free popcorn, darts and s pool table! They even have local beer. The coolest bar in Beech Grove.

A great local pub! Beer selection is good with bucket specials. Best bar in Beech grove.

Great place for fun and beer. Just be sure to keep dan miles away from your wives daughters and girlfriends. He has a thing for married women and unfortunately is a bar tender and frequent lounge lizzard of the place

Great atmosphere, wonderful service. The old racing cars were super cool to look at, as well.

Had a good visit on Monday. The staff and customers were fun to talk to. Will probably go back really soon. As I was the DD, I only had a Diet Coke, but it was better than usual. Sorry that they didn't have Landshark, but whatever. Next time, a Killian's Irish Red will do fine. Popcorn is always hot and fresh.
