I don't know how this park started out, but I can tell you were it is now. This park is very dirty. Some of the picnics tables are falling apart, there is trash everywhere, the parking lot has huge pot holes, and one pavilion looks like it was the set of one of the Hangover movies. This park is one of the worst maintained that I have seen. The grass is cut, but that is about it.The park has a huge parking area, divided between a couple of lots. There are some basket ball goals in an area, but are set up in an odd arrangement that do not allow full court. There is a playground area there. It is lined with wood chips and has the older style swings, and some toddler swings. There is also two jungle gyms and a couple of slides. The playground is accesible, but the equipment is aged. The park also has a decent restroom facility, a disc golf course, and a fitness area. There are also 3 covered pavilions with picnic tables and grills that you can rent. The pavilions, however, are trashed. They are full of garbage and just plain nasty. The bright spots of the park are the aquatic center, the huge grassy fields, and the walking/jogging trail. The fields can be used for soccer, playing catch, flag football, flying a kite, or just throwing a blanket down and relaxing. There was a lot of people walking on the trail while I was there. The trail is pretty long and goes around the park in a circle. This park was in bad shape and in need of some serious help. Outside of the trail and field I do not see much utility for the park. This park has a lot of potential and if the park's issues are corrected then it would be a great place to visit. As it is now, the park is mehhhh, and I would probably visit another park, even if it was a bit further.

Good park for a little basketball. Lots of room for kids to run around as well! For some reason the court is in a circle which makes the court small, but you manage. Great place to barbecue. The water park is still closed.

No one to call and ask questions about the pool. The pool understandably closed in 2020 but was announced on local news as reopening in summer 2021. It never did and never shared any corrected reopening dates or info about what is going on. There's no real website to go to ask. You'll find various phone numbers you'll find through Google searches. Those phone numbers will send you to a voicemail but no one will ever return your call. You can even try reaching out through direct messages on Indy Parks social media but no one will ever respond either.

This park has a wide variety of activities and plenty of room for enjoying the park. There was an aquatic center with a splash park, pool, and water slide. There were basketball and sports fields. There was a long hiking trail around the park and another that goes to the south around a farmer's field. There are several shelters with grills and a playground with a nice variety of equipment for sliding, swinging, and climbing. One of the negatives is that the park doesn't have adequate drainage along the trails, so I noticed several places where water was standing across the paved paths. I don't appreciate getting my shoes and socks wet while on a long hike and that would discourage me from using the trails unless we had a dry spell. Otherwise, the park seemed in pretty good shape with plenty of parking.Review #611

So the park itself is pretty nice. I mean first of all it's quite large. There's playgrounds, frisbee golf, open fields, woods, community center, a creek, and a long and winding perimeter paved trail. But why just three stars? Well (1) there's virtually no access to said creek, which is a shame and (2) the parts of the creek you could get clearly are dumping grounds for people that just don't care. Is that the park's fault? Maybe not but it certainly doesn't make me want to drive across town to go there.

I love this park. It's really big, has a pool w/a slide (I don't swim so I'm just tossing that info in there for YOU), lots of open green space and best of all, long great trails complete with shady areas and sun. I've been completing my daily run here on my lunch breaks and I must say the trails are a great for beginning runners. They have mile markers written on the ground so you know how much you've run (if you don't have a trusty gadget) and they mild inclines that help build your run endurance. I have no complaints about this park. The bathrooms are easy to locate, the play area isn't compromised in any way due to the large size of the park and although I'm sure there is at least one day a year (if not more) that people descend on this park and fill it up, I am hardly overwhelmed w/people. It's spacious and open and most times during the day, there are just a handful of people there doing everything from relaxing on their lunch breaks to yoga to playing soccer or, my favorite, running !!! If you are looking for a good park to visit or exercise or play it, definitely put Northwest high on your list. This is one of the best parks to be in touch with nature and all of it's sounds. Wind down your summer with a trip here, even if it's just to lay in the grass and let the sun kiss you on your forehead. Careful, don't fall asleep if you're on your lunch break !!!!

Eh. Not the cleanest park ever, it floods every time it rains. It's definitely not a destination park. There have been some questionable times, as a single woman, walking through this park. I was followed and hit on a few times. It was close to where I used to live so it was convenient. I don't plan on going back now that I've moved!
