Newfields is top of list for me when I need to get out of the house but can't be outdoors. However, it is an all season destination with beautiful outdoor spaces within its campus. The art museum has a constant rotation of exhibits and rotate pieces within their collections. I've noticed an increase in interaction stations, which make a typically stodgy art museum more appealing to children and teens. There is an army of volunteers on site to help answer questions. The museum itself isn't huge but I still usually need to break up my visit with a stop in the cafe. The menu is small but the food is high quality and prepared well. I also usually like to end my visit with a stroll through the grounds. If it's open, I'll pop into Oldfields, a former Lilly family home, for a quick self-guided tour. In warmer seasons, the Garden Terrace is a nice stop for a beer and snack. The adjoining 100 Acres Park does not require a ticket and can be accessed for free any time. Outdoor art installations pepper the property and make it an engaging short walk on nice days. The gift shop is always stocked with beautiful things. Memberships are reasonable and with member discounts in the cafe, gift shop and other perks it's a worthwhile investment if you go two times a year.

This is a great museum, always new cultural exhibits to see. The Lume experiences for Monet and Van Gogh were well worth the visit. You can really spend all day here. Love the park...I come here often with my dog, especially since it's less than 5 minutes from the house.

Newfields is an uncommon destination which offers some unique things to see and learn about. That said, parking is quite a challenge here, and the other amenities are also lacking :-(On a positive note, the Van Gogh exhibit does a decent job at stimulating the interest of younger audiences. That said, there's really only one of his original works involved here, and I personally didn't find anything here that grabbed my attention.Tip: The memberships are affordable and if you're a person that very much enjoys culture and/or art, you should probably consider getting one :-)

I went to a members only talk last night about the 5 Dali Watercolors. It was interesting to learn about how the watercolors came to be for the opera that Alvary was putting on. Dali had a small part to play in this opera but ended up making a huge impact, which did not make Alvary happy. There are only 4 watercolors that have been seen and no one knows where the fifth watercolor is. The 4 watercolors were donated to Newfields by Alvary and his wife.

Thank you!! Thank you!!! To our friends who finally got us to Lights at Newfields. Gorgeous, awe struck at love and labor that created this event. You can only truly benefit in person.Little pricey, so I'm hopeful there are options for people who can't afford????

I've had a membership at Newfields for two years now, and it's been totally worth it! With at least three visits a year, the membership pays for itself, and the member pricing for events is a huge bonus. Plus, access to the museum floors is free as a member, which is great.I'm a huge fan of The Lume exhibit and Harvest Nights, but Winterlights, Spring in Bloom, and Summer Movie Nights are equally fantastic. Be sure to get your tickets early for these events, as they can sell out fast. The staff is always friendly, and the shop and café are perfect spots to stop by during your visit. The atmosphere is incredibly clean--like, amazingly clean--and it's clear that the place is really well taken care of. I absolutely love it here!

I'm obsessed with our art museum-- incredible campus with a beautifully kept garden and an inviting mix of both timeless and contemporary exhibits and engaging spaces. Our art museum highlights the art in the community, showcasing the beauty in our city and the Indy culture while offering a unique opportunity to be a part of some amazing experiences. My experience today was part of the Total Eclipse of the Sun Party-- and it was amazing. As part of my ticket, I got to pop into the Lume, which featured the work of Dali.. again amazing. The memberships are affordable & if you're an enthusiast of art, culture, or community events. JOIN! 10/10

Newfields does not disappoint me whatsoever. I came for Harvest Nights and I was very impressed with the decorations and the talking pumpkins. The ghost Train was very creative and unique. The mischief manor was my favorite with the illusions and the inside decorations for Halloween. The graphics and lights were incredible and did give the true meaning of Halloween. I have always been impressed with the art exhibits at Newfields. They feature an artist every few months and they go all out with their exhibitions. The gift shop is very nice and has unique items for purchase as well. I would imagine a membership to Newfields would be very worthwhile if you are into the art exhibits and attend events at Newfields on a regular basis. Newfields is an excellent venue for art and events, and the beer garden is also incredible with a good selection of craft beer and drinks. If you come to Newfields for an event, you will leave with a smile on your face.

I have always enjoyed going to the harvest nights as an adult. This year I got to experience it with my grandson. It was even more fun to go and try to experience it through his eyes. Well done!
