Awesome destination restaurant ! There is a family dining area, we sat in the bar, the staff is very friendly . I had the breaded tenderloin, it was delicious and worthy of being sold in Indiana! My husband ordered a battered fish that came with fries and a salad. Great value and something about their batter/breading is amazing and unique . Check it out !

New Ross Steak House has a great family feel. It's located a little over 30 minutes from west of Indianapolis. We went here for a birthday celebration and everyone was friendly. This place is know for it's steaks and I'm a pescotarian. I yrues the catfish and it was just okay. Need improvements but it will do.Everyone who ordered the New York strip steak, cheeseburger and tenderloin were impressed. They loved the meal...the baked potatoes were great. The entrees come with a side and salad and is more than enough to fill you up.Laura was amazing and treated our party of 15 well. There was not a long wait for the food and they did not compromise in any area.Job well done New Ross Steak House!

The definition of a small town restaurant. My dad lives 2 miles from here so we decided to grab dinner. Both the main area and bar are small. When we walked in the ceiling lights were off which I found weird. Everything on my menu is cheap, and from what I ordered, everything is fresh. I ordered a grilled tenderloin and onion rings. Was disappointed in the sandwich due to how dry it was, but I wasn't sure if grilled tenderloins are typically that dry or not the onion rings were good but the onions were super thin. Overall it was meh

We came here w some friends. First off no credit cards so make sure you have cash. Our server was super polite. Got our drinks right out to us. The menu ranges from $3 for a grilled cheese to $30 steaks. I had the tenderloin which was ok but I wouldn't order it again. My daughter had the 6 oz filet and she said it was delicious. My other daughter had the fried chicken and she said that was good. My husband had the a prime Rib and did not like it. He said it was tough. We might come back. It has a local small town feel. I would rather give my money to restaurants like this than a chain.

My husband and I have been on a mission to hit eateries in the area surrounding Crawfordsville. We stopped at the New Ross Steak House on a Friday night to enjoy good food and a friendly environment. This steak house definitely has a small town feel. You can look around and see which locals are probably their regulars. We shared the fried cheese balls appetizer. I loved it! They were little balls of deliciousness that were served with a side of ranch and some other dipping sauce. I had the fried shrimp dinner. I chose the sides of fries, a salad with house made poppyseed dressing, and a dinner roll. Everything was just decent. The fries and shrimp were just pre-packaged frozen foods. The homemade poppyseed dressing was mostly mayonnaise. On the other hand, my husband ordered the prime rib dinner. He was very impressed with the prime rib. He said it was the best he has had in a while!

Although I've driven through New Ross a few times, I've never eaten at this establishment, until this evening. My order: 10 oz Filet Migon, shrimp, salad, steak fries and a house merlot. The waitress informed me that their 10 oz filet mignon was their best cut of meat. Since I eat a lot filet anyway, that's what I ordered. The meal came and it was very sub-par for a filet. The fries were decent, the salad was decent, the shrimp was good and the house merlot was decent, but it was only $3. So, no big deal. I said something nicely to the waitress about the steak not being very good and ask her to say something to the manager. I thought maybe she would bring another steak or offer me something else.Instead she just brought back the check and it was for the full price ($43)Being a business owner myself, what I couldn't help but notice was how this situation was handled. No acknowledgement of the steak being very sub-par. No offer to help rectify the situation. Nothing said, the bill was laid on the table and that was it. I wondered if they thought that maybe I just wanted a "freebie"...nope not the case. So, I paid the bill in full and also left a tip. I guess all I am saying is that, as a business owners, our customers are to be valued and I don't feel like I was in your establishment.

Not fancy, but good food at a reasonable price. I have been here every year or so since back in the 1980's. THEY DO NOT TAKE CREDIT CARDS! Other than that a very good steak with all the trimmings. They have an appetizer sampler which practically filled up my two college aged sons. They have seafood entrees there too. They have carafes of house wine that were a very good deal. There is an attached bar where distilled spirits are available.Walked right in on Wabash graduation weekend, no waiting.

Really bad food for our first time visitors. Ordered 3 prime rib dinners,Neither of them were even close to a prime rib. And paid big money for 1 inch steaks. They put 2 steaks on each plate. Wasn't Even able to eat them. Very disappointing. If you don't have prime rib say so. Don't try fooling us. Not our first rodeo. We know what prime rib is. Didn't make a scene because our little family was there. Probably won't be back. Really sad. Raise prices and try to cheat on the prime rib. Not cool.

Found this place on a map search and stopped for dinner on the way to our nephew's football game. Great food in a comfy, modest location. We had the appetizer combo platter, which was huge. My husband had the double cheeseburger and I had the breaded tenderloin. Everything was delicious. Generous portions all around and we left feeling satisfied and happy with our dinner choice! Can't wait to go back!

Waitress was very good, but it was down hill from their. Our salad was smaller than it used to be and they have discontinued the cracker basket Ordered a small sirloin that was on the menu only to be told by our waitress that they are no longer available. Settled on a small t-bone and was disappointed in the lack of no searing on the offering. It seemed it was warmed up in the micro-wave and had little or no seasoning.Baked potato was firm in the middle and not very hot. We have been going their for over 30 years and have never been so disappointed in our meal. That will be the last time!
