Needlers is an upscale neighborhood grocery in a little strip mall. The store is newer and sparkling clean and well organized inside. On weekends, the teenage clerks are friendly, even infectiously happy. The grocery offers everything you'd expect from a grocery. They have a small meat counter, fresh veggies, gourmet cheeses, breads, wine and a good selection of craft beer. I picked up chicken to cook for dinner and it was delicious. I found they were little pricy on some items, but had weekly sales that made shopping balance out. Their cafe serves coffee and pastries. I was expecting more selection, but maybe there is not enough room. There's plenty of parking outside with handicapped spots close. I'd shop here regularly, if I lived here.

It's small but mighty! This store offers great options and even has a chef who regularly provides suggestions for food items to improve recipes. Needler's offers many unique, delicious, and excellent-quality products. Needler's also supports local businesses offering quality products like Clutch and Kindle, Dave's Amazing Bread, Sati Babi (excellent marinade for pork, fish, chicken, and beef), and many more. The team at Needler's is ready to help but never intrusive or push. It has that small-town feel as it relates to service, but with diversity of a great food selection. This is a great addition to Carmel and a fantastic place to shop and support locals!

I stopped in this morning for the first time and was so impressed! I spotted so many local items in the shop: fresh Amelia's loaves of bread and baguettes, Tinker Coffee and Indie Coffee Roasters' beans, Rosie's Place cookies, lemon bars, and brownies, Endangered Species Chocolate, Indiana Soap Company chapsticks and soaps, and Simplicity Juices. I love to see it. While it's a smaller grocery store, they had some awesome niche products with awesome, clean ingredients like the Against the Grain frozen pizzas, Siete chips, and Lily's Chocolates. We were picking up a quick gift for someone and appreciated their greeting card selection, as well as mini party section with gift bags, tissue paper, bows, mini balloons, and more. The staff were super friendly and greeted my baby and I, and were truly pleasant to be around. They also had a cute candy bar set up for Easter and there was a lot of local candy, as well as nostalgic candy too. Great work!

I was in Carmel, Indiana today trying to count the roundabouts (I failed) and decided to stop into this wonderful little strip center that has Lemon's Bakery Cafe, Needler's Fresh Market, a CVS, a Roots Burger Bar, Rad's, and several other businesses. This is East Carmel, though as someone who lives in Lawrence It's safe to say this is not Indy East. By now, it's no real secret that Needler's largely entered the Indy market by taking over several of the former Marsh and O'Malia's locations. This was an older O'Malia that certainly showed its age (as does most of the strip center except for those spots that have since been renovated like Roots). Needler's Fresh Market is owned by Generative Growth II (which is owned by Needler siblings Michael and Julie). They outsource management to Fresh Encounter (founded by Needler dad).Got that? Me neither. Needler's Fresh Market is one of several "brands" under Fresh Encounter and is located in Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. It's a chain that feels local but actually isn't what you'd consider a traditional local business. I first visited the downtown Indy location given its proximity to my work. I kept hoping that Needler's would take over the former O'Malia's in my own neighborhood at 56th and Emerson. Unfortunately, that became a Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market. This location has a brightness that is relatively new to this strip center. You can enter through the Lemon's Bakery Cafe entrance or through the Needler-specific entrance. Needler's has a rewards program. They tend to be very community-minded. They tend to have close to the same selection as most chains, though I would say it's somewhat less and somewhat higher priced. For example, I drink a lot of V8 energy. Needler's had it, however, they offered only one flavor and it was at least $.50 higher here than most other places. In fact, I can get it on Shipt (so delivered) for the same price here. However, they do have nice sales and most products are in a fairly decent range of pricing. I'm definitely willing to pay a little more for better service. I will say that Needler's has some definite accessibility issues. They have accessible parking out front, automatic doors, and I love that they have the smaller carts that are so much easier to manage for wheelchair users (I did have one older employee recommend the motorized carts, however, those don't work well for wheelchair users). However, I found multiple aisles I could not make it through due to narrow product placement. At one point, I wanted to reach something (the aforementioned V8 energy) and couldn't find an employee as it was on a top shelf. They do have a wheelchair friendly check-out aisle, though it was closed. This was fine since I didn't end up buying anything.Overall, I like this location better than downtown Indy - that said, I think downtown Indy is a bit larger (I could be wrong, but it feels larger). These aisles feel more compact and I don't recall having the accessibility concerns downtown. I wouldn't consider this a destination grocery, however, it's a terrific option for this side of Carmel and it carries Indiana vendors. I love that. While it wasn't packed, it was certainly popular and a grocery was needed on this side of Carmel. When I'm in the area, I won't hesitate to return but will hopefully have better luck accessing some help for those items and aisles that are out of reach.

Needlers has all of the things a bougie Carmel lady like me looks for in a new neighborhood grocery store: a big beer and wine selection; elegant displays of cheese and things to pair it with, like jars of olives and fig jam; someone behind the counter wearing a chef's hat who is painstakingly creating sushi rolls so that I can eat them fresh; cakes that look like dogs ... I mean, it's all here at Needlers! This grocery store has been anxiously anticipated by the community. The space used to house a grocery store called O'Malia's, which some people were very loyal to. I had no such loyalty to O'Malia's, and from what I remember, O'Malia's was very dark and dated inside. Needler's is the opposite of that. It's very open and bright, and you can tell that a lot of thought has been put into where the items should be placed. There are different sections in the store, including a nice-looking deli and butcher counter. There is also a juice bar, where you can get fresh juice and smoothies made to order. There's a bakery where you can get your dog-shaped cakes and also cake slices, tarts, brownies, cake bombs, cupcakes and more. There's also the aforementioned sushi counter, with someone there making fresh sushi. We got three orders to go, and it was really great! Then I looked at the box and realized that the sushi that Needler's is making and selling is Sushi Boss, so that makes sense why it's so good.Needler's sells a lot of local products -- too many to name, but I did see Circle Kombucha proudly displayed in the refrigerated case. There is also a bakery cafe inside the grocery store called Lemon's, where you can get coffee, baked goods and more. I really loved this store, and it's perfect for a quick trip to grab some goodies if you're living on the east side of Carmel.

Needler sent coupons to our house. At checkout I could not use the coupons because I was not a "Loyalty"customer. They said there is no way to sign-up on the spot to use the coupons. I Just left all the groceries and walked out. Needler was OK with this. Don't think I will ever return. I have no idea why they send coupons to new people in town but when they go to spend money there they will not let them use the coupon and will not let them sign-up as a Loyalty Customer on the spot. Shady business is all I can assume. I asked how to sign-up to be Loyalty customer and they said I needed to use the website and wait for the approval. Needler will not be my Loyal Grocery store. I doing need Needler's, they need me.

My new favorite grocery store for fresh produce! I was always under the impression that these smaller grocers were way more expensive and had less compared to larger chains. I was so wrong. This store is fully stocked, super clean, and had a beautiful produce section! This store is laid out really nicely. In larger grocers, I often find myself having to hunt for specific items, but this store is well organized in a way that makes sense. They were also so well staffed. I walked up to a check out and was taken care of right away by super kind teenage employees. And most importantly to me, I didn't spend anymore on produce than I normally would at larger grocery store chains. If anything, I think I spent less! And I definitely got much higher quality and attractive looking produce. They do have a loyalty program. You have to fill out a paper and take it to the customer service desk. They let me know it takes about 3 weeks to process. My visit to Needler's was long overdue. I have grown so sick of certain large grocery store chains that consistently are out of stock, have poor produce, and are poorly staffed and managed. Support smaller grocers like this one that are doing it right!

Needler's market is a new grocery store in Carmel that has local organic products from Indiana and specializes in natural, organic products. This is a very nice supermarket with fresh produce. The prices are a little high from normal supermarkets, but you are paying for local organic foods and natural products. I bought a local organic coffee product that I tried and loved very much called "The hippie coffee" which was a kona coffee. The supermarket is very easy to get around and the staff are friendly and willing to help you out with anything and everything that you need to make your experience more enjoyable. Everything is fresh throughout the store and there is something different each week that you can find to take home and try out. If you are in the Carmel area, I would stop in Needlers market and check it out. It is a great place.

First time visiting a Needler's. I was impressed. Large produce department, fresh meat department, and bakery. There is even a place to sit if you want to eat your pastries while you're there. Self service checkout is always nice because it keeps the lines moving. Will definitely be back.
