The Muncie Civic Theater is a great asset to the community and local theater production. With an all volunteer cast the theater casts and produces some ambitious productions. The building has been newly renovated. Climate control works better than before the renovation. It's a great place for date night or to introduce the children/grandchildren to theater.

The Muncie Civic Theatre is absolutely my favorite place in Muncie! I have so many great memories here. Every time I walk in the front doors, the smell popcorn and the building in general hits me in the face and I am immediately super happy! I started going to plays and musicals with my grandfather here when I was in first grade and even now, about 18 years later, I still get super excited about going to the theatre! Just last night I saw Beauty and the Beast and I have no doubt in my mind that I was just as excited, if not more excited, than all of the little kids in the audience! I was definitely more hype about taking pictures with the characters than the kids were! Haha! Civic can always be counted on to put on a good production. The 2016-2017 season will be magnificent! They will be performing the following:Beauty and the BeastMemphisJoseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat To Kill a MockingbirdGreaseSuessical the Musical I plan to attend ALL of the plays this season! I hope you come out for a few as well!

Is it the Steppenwolf in Chicago? No, but this beautiful old Vaudeville/movie theater is a gem---one of the few that has been spared the town fathers of Muncie's mania to destroy all the beautiful architecture in town. The theater puts on an ambitious program of musicals and plays every year--with participation from both local residents and BSU students. The presence of the students generally adds to the quality of the performances--and while they enhance the performances, the opportunities offered by the theater enhance the musical theater and acting option at BSU. If you get a chance to see a production here, it's worth checking out.

Muncie civic theater is a great place for people of any age to be able to experience a wonderful theater experience. The block of buildings that comprises muncie civic is gorgeous. The main lobby/ box office is very grand, but still welcoming, and the volunteers and staff can't be any nicer. The actual theater is old but extremely beautiful. They are just getting ready to stay renovations to preserve and enhance the features of the building. Some updates have already been done with new bathrooms that ate lovely. Lastly, muncie civic theater is so open to anyone auditioning or volunteering for one of their events. They gladly invite and embrace new and old faces alike. From personal experience, I can say that this place knows how to expand its list of family and friends. I have always had an amazing time seeing shows and performing at Muncie civic theater. I will always be back.

This is a restored vaudeville era theater. The Mainstage is where the main events are. They have a smaller, experimental, theater as well. The shows are usually well produced and used to be entirely community based. Now, at times, the cast is 90 percent or more BSU students. There's good and bad to each, I suppose. The venue itself, is interesting. I have been rained on at times, and at other times been entertained by a flying bat.
