Morgenstern's Books

If you haven't been to this adorable gem in Bloomington, you're missing out. It's very cozy with a decent selection of books. The staff is super helpful and always willing to help you hunt for a book. They have cool locally made trinkets and an awesome coffee shop. This is my go to place when I'm hunting books for my bookworm peeps.

Lovely little cafe with coffee drinks--including some incredibly creative lattes--and baked goods. Fantastic staff! And of course books, books, books! Don't see the one you want--they're happy to special order.

Such a cute shop and cafe. I was told they're the largest independent bookstore in IN and I found a few books I had been searching for back in OH!

Lovely bookstore and cafe combo where you can get some work done or shop for a new book or some local goods! The bookstore was organized nicely into different genres and had a few little staff notes under certain books the staff loved. I saw many popular and/or new books available.The cafe area is to the left of the door when you want in and has a good assortment of coffee/tea/drinks to choose from. I had reached my caffeine limit for the day so I went with just a cookie. They had 4 different types of cookies, a few muffins, and what looked like an almond croissant to choose from. The salted caramel choc chip cookie was perfectly chewy with good sized pockets of caramel and little salt flakes on top. For just under $3 with tax, I thought the ~4in cookie was reasonable.Most of the tables in the cafe were taken up by students working individually on their laptops. If you need to get some work done, this seems like it would be a good spot if you can find an open seat.

I was so excited to see a bookstore + cafe combo! The cafe part was nice and suitable for working :) I got the CLOUD 9 drink (white chocolate mocha with hints of beetroot?) for Valentine's day and it was really good! Also very pretty. Very unique and the coffee was made well. I haven't shopped for books yet, but from what I could see it look like they had a lot of variety, and overall it was a nice and cozy space.

As we navigated to an outside road, we found Morgenstern's bookstore. The parking lot was filled with people checking out the new old bookstore. As we entered we found a help desk with a greeter who is present to answer questions. You will find other workstations throughout the store. You will find overstuffed chairs throughout the store. The refreshment area has a place to eat, drink and meet both inside and out. The baristas were helpful and friendly. You will find many books and other things for your delight. Stop in and see what you may find.

Morgensterns is my absolute favorite place in Bloomington. I love supporting a local business and this has some of my favorite things, books and coffee! The staff is so wonderful and the selection of products is phenomenal. I just feel absolutely at peace in the environment that they have created, it is like coming home. It's a great place to grab some great books, enjoy a book club, grab a coffee and play some games. 10/10 recommend Morgensterns to every person!

Their pumpkin spice latte is amazing! It's homemade and tastes just like a pumpkin pie, a little buttery and not too sweet. I'm definitely going back for another one before fall ends.

Friendly, well-stocked, attractive book store with well-stocked cases of variety of categories. Charming cafe hosts themed events, such as trivia night and mystery night. Staff was so helpful in showing us specific areas to peruse, in addition to front desk staff checking online and in-store stock on specific books were wanted. Clean, well-lit, mini gal noise building has cozy feel and extra parking at rear of store (you'll need that during their popular events! This is now our first stop for bookstores in Bloomington!

Very helpful employees and a great selection of books and merchandise. The cafe is a nice addition to keep you comfortable in the store for a pleasant shopping and snacking experience.
