Went to the Chicken & Beer Festival at Monon 30 and it was the first time in the space. Everything is brightly decorated with lots of outdoor seating and is a nice space for a smaller, ticketed event. The parking is kind of iffy - there's a gravel lot next to it and it could use a little upkeep. I was slightly scared there would be a nail or something that would put a hole in my tire, but everything turned out fine. I didn't know this space was here and am curious what else they might have here so I'd definitely come back to another event.

Located right off the Monon at 30th St is Monon 30 (get it? Names these days... lol). A multi-proposed outdoors space that is only going to get better with time. If I were rating this for the food alone, it would be a solid 2.5 stars, but! This place has potential and I loved nearly everything else about it. It seems like a space that was a bit rushed to open as there are some loose ends, but this could be one of my go-to, chill hangout spots over time. They have live music that isn't overly loud so you can still have a conversation, food trucks, a couple of bars, port-o-pots, games, lots of seating, and more. I love the live music, the ample space and that it's outside. I tried the Indian-focused spot for their chickpea bowl and it was...not very good, but they have potential! Drinks are on the pricier side: a frozen drink was $9. My food was around $12 or so. If the owners/designers are reading this, I would love to see a movie theater/screen installed in one of the freight containers for outdoor movie nights in the future! Overall: it has a lot of potential and I'm excited to see it continue to grow!

An urban oasis in the middle of the city. Monon 30 is an initiative to revitalize the neighborhood surrounding the Monon Trail and E. 30th St. There are plans for a community hub, housing, and a grocery store. Admittedly, the area is somewhat dilapdated with old industrial buildings, but they are starting off on the right foot with The Cradle. The Cradle at Monon 30 is meant to be an art/culture and culinary hub. They used the industrial backdrop and turned it on its head. They used cargo containers to build a performance stage and food booths. The venue is made more inviting by using bright colors and live plants. There are canopys and umbrellas for shade, and toward the back there is a game area. Several food vendors are usually on-site, and they just received a license to serve cocktails in addition to beer and wine. For the last few weekends, there have been live music of different genres. There are some seating in front of the stage, but really you can enjoy the sounds from anywhere. You are welcomed to take a seat or meander around the venue as you see fit.Monon 30 is such an unexpected place in a neighborhood you are probably not accustomed to. Don't let the zip code deter you and check it out yourself. The Cradle is just a first step, and I am curious to see how the rest of Monon 30 unfolds.

Monon 30 was such a fun spot! It's filling a hole in the Indy community that wasn't really offered before - like the food truck parks you may see in Austin or other US cities. The environment is eclectic, joyful, and laid back with a nice location next to the Monon trail.I loved the welcoming environment for families with kids, large groups, and even dogs. They have outdoor games like corn hole or giant Connect Four and plenty of space relax and enjoy. There was also a live performance by a great local band while we were there, and there was no cover fee which was a nice perk! For food, they offer a variety of rotating local food trucks. When I was there it included Forked Up Catering, Queso's, Gordon's Milkshake, and Rolling Smoke BBQ. I tried the carnitas quesadilla and chips / guac at Queso's and loved my meal! I was pleasantly surprised by all the food I could get for just $12. Monon 30 has a few bars with an array of drinks for every taste. Parking was confusing the first time, but they do have an large gravel lot that's attached. The parking entrance I went it was across from the fire station, and it has marked pallets noting you're in the right spot.I'm pumped to come back and experience all the growth that will come with Monon 30's continued plan for development.

This is such a cool space- and such a good use of the area by monon trail. We have been there for drinks, food, markets, and live music! We went there for the Oktoberfest last year which was awesome- the live music stage is so cool, and the food their (brats, pretzels, etc) was on theme and very good. We also went for one of their makers markets this spring. There is so much space for vendors, and having them in the indoor area is a cool feature. There are several bars set up around the venue. We love getting the hi-and-mighty (local canned cocktails), as well as the adult spring break (local bottled cocktails). We don't see those around very often, but love supporting local! We have also seen frozen lemonades and other chilled drinks that are perfect for a hot summer day. The space is dog friendly and even has a dog park. And when I say it is RIGHT off the monon trail, I mean it! We love walking there- it is so convenient. There is also space to spark your bikes, and there is actual car parking across the way, though we have never actually driven. I would definitely watch for events in this space, or just show up on a Friday or Saturday.

Okay this is the cutest little outdoor space and I'm so glad I now know about it. The bar is adorable and prices are reasonable for a place in the city. It seems like there are food trucks there for your eating needs and they smelled divine. Now here's the cute part: every bit of seating is made out of pallets. They're turned into big lounging seats. Rolling benches for the music area. Picnic tables with large umbrellas. Just a very welcoming spot that fits right in with the vibe of the area.

Ok, get here for any event! Such a cool venue!!I'd been wanting to check it out and finally made it for Octoberfest last night. It's on the grounds of an old lumberyard and warehouses that make pallets. The use of pallets for seating, tables, and decorations is very creative. Add in the shipping containers and railroad lighting for the stages and bar areas makes this a super fun environment. There is also a games are for adults and kids. For Octoberfest there is a great line up of bands. We saw Toy Factory and they were a blast.Plenty of drink options and multiple food trucks to chose from to help you celebrate. Bens pretzels are amazing! There were also sausage choices, Mexican food and barbecue. Everything sure smelled good! There is an enclosed parking lot which helps and other street parking. You can still get tickets for this weekend or go the next event. This place is too fun to miss!

Indy so needs more places such as this! Wonderful set up with lots of plants, games, drinks and there were a few food trucks available as well. The cool thing is that everything is set up with pallets, the tables and chairs. It's also dog friendly and they have water bowls for them. The live music was nice, the band did a great job. There was a $5 cover to get in and they preferred card over cash. Had a lovely time being outside seeing the sunset and enjoying quality time with friends. Great atmosphere, great place to check out!

Great venue and they have a bunch of events lined up for the summer. They recently opened up their dog park and have markets/ food trucks typically on Saturday's. Right on the monon, so you can bike or if not, huge parking lot next to it.
