I went over to a friends house the other day and had a cup of tea. It was the most flavorful and aromatic cup of tea I have tried and I had to know where they got it. So we went to this little hidden gem, tucked away in a strip mall in Carmel. This is a tiny store with an offering of items from Eastern Europe. There is a great variety of items for anyone to find something to try and well worth a visit.I picked up two types or tea, a jar of vegetable spread, and beet salad and sour pickles from the deli case. Both teas were equally good and flavorful. And the deli items were fresh and tasty.

Two reasons why I come to this place: caviar and dadu ice cream. It's the only place in Indy where I can get the best selection of quality caviar. If I'm on a budge, I get a jar of salmon caviar. If I'm feeling bougie, they have osetra without breaking the bank (too much). I also get my ever so favorite Dadu ice cream (caramel only) and it's legit one of the best imported ice creams. The top crust is delicious while the bottom of the cone is always an awesome surprise.

I ran in here for a quick treat earlier tonight. The name "mini mart" kind of makes you think of the Qik-E-Mart from The Simpsons. This seems much more like a bodgea rather than a pure convenience store. There is a lot of bread, cheese, wine, some vegetables, and a variety of packaged goods.I got the "Opera" pastry from some bakery in Brooklyn. Coffee cream + vanilla and chocolate and it was delicious. I have no idea if this is authentic or not. The only other Russian store I know of is the...jazz restaurant in Castleton. But this unique little shop is a welcome change of pace from the burger and pizza capitol of central Indiana.

The store is not big, but they carry a lot of foods and other items. I like it a bit more than Babushka Deli, personally. All the goods are mostly from Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and Baltic Countries. The staff is always friendly and helpful - they'd suggest what's higher quality and what to avoid, as well as hell you find whatever you are looking for. That's how I found pierogis that tasted well. Everything is a hit or miss (good pelmeni / bad pelmeni), but mostly a hit. It's priced above average, but some groceries you can't find in local supermarkets - so once in a while it works.

Nice little store with an authentic Russian products. Stopped by few times while visiting Carmel and found plenty of European (Russian) goodies including Russian beer, grechka (buckwheat), tvorog, vareniki and rye bread. Cashiers (one is Olena) are friendly and helpful. Thank you for keeping a place for us, Russian/European food lovers!

What a wonderful surprise. Such a small store but you will find a lots of product. They got Deli, cheese, can goods, newspaper, even boots, and dresses. Such a wonderful little European feeling. Parking is easy, location is wonderful. I bought Lithunian Beef Liver late, some Teakanne Hibiscus tea and some Good instant chicken nodle soup. They also offer shipping parcel by air or by sea. I only look up Hungary it was 1lbs for $1.99, service fee $20 and minimum package or parcel weight 10lbs. Good to know We have such a place in Carmel. I will be back, recomended to people needs Eastern European food. One of the best in near here. I promise.

Great Russian market with fresh foods, deli, frozen foods, cans, etc. Owners, employees, and customers are all Russians/Eastern Europeans from what I can tell, which is a good sign.I mostly buy the fresh salmon roe and some deli meats. Everything I have bought from there has been of high quality so no complaints.Hopefully they manage to stay open. There was another one on Carmel Dr. and Meridian that closed a couple of years ago.

Very pleasant personnel. The store itself is small, however it offers great selection of bread, deli meats, herring, sweets, pickled vegetables, and teas. If you are looking for souvenirs - they got them as well. If you have friends from Eastern Europe, you absolutely have to buy something from this store before heading to their house, they will be pleasantly surprised.

This hidden grocery is a little hard to find but worth the journey. It's right off of rangeline and usually by the time you see the sign, you've passed the entrance. Once you make it, you will be greeted by delicious pastries, candies, pierogies and other magical treats. They have everything from Czech beer to Russian side dishes. The prices are sometimes hard to locate but you usually don't go to an import store looking for a bargain. Tasty home baked goods and imported foods are not only in the city, they're right here in Carmel too!
