So there's a diner in the rear of the Country Mart gas station/convenience store just south of Cloverdale. We thought it might be good as there were about 20 cars parked around the building. Turns out, the diner is quite popular with a group of regulars. They drink refills of coffee and jabber about politics, share hugs with the server and laugh. The breakfast menu offers Midwest favorites biscuits and gravy, eggs anyway, bacon and even a breakfast burrito. I had the burrito, which is huge, filled with eggs, mushrooms, onions and bacon. (I chose the fillings). I was pleased that the burrito was not filled with rice or potato carbs that I didn't need. The burrito was absolutely delicious. My husband had the Country Mart Platter - eggs, toast bacon. All cooked perfectly. We had a big surprise when we asked for our bill and our server told us that our check had been taken care of by another patron. She told us that's the way people were around here. I was so shocked that I missed the opportunity to pay it forward by picking up someone else's check. I was kicking myself the rest of the day. We did leave a nice tip of course. So the food is good comfort food. At lunch, they offer daily specials and a selection of desserts. There's plenty of parking. I'd definitely return. I owe somebody lunch.

Love stopping here for lunch when I'm in the area. Always get the Smash burger. You should get smashed at Millgrove, too!The friendliest service for sure! And, clean! Always neat and tidy!

Wonderful breaded pork tenderloin...perfect amount of breading and seasoning, big enough for 3 sandwiches. No upcharge for fixings (lettuce, tomato, onion) and only .50 for cheese. Was able to sub broccoli salad for the seasoned fries, again no upcharge. Staff was very pleasant and provided great service!

As soon as you walk in you're greeted with a friendly face and a smile. Staff is wonderful on checking in with you; they're very kind and down to earth. Kind of place where the regulars and the newcomers get treated the same farm community kindness. Food was fantastic, we got meatloaf and pork loin with garlic cheese curds on the side. Carrots were steamed wonderfully and the au gratin potatoes were packed with real, non runny cheese. Portions were above average, if you leave hungry that's your own fault. The diner itself, even for being in the back of a gas station, was quaint and had a down home feeling. Kid's artwork on the walls, Matlock on the tv, smiles and laughter on an early Sunday afternoon.10/10 would highly recommend stopping in! Easily accessible, right off of 231.

Typical cafe menu. Food was very good. Love the fries. Tenderloin was well sized but not pounded down to thin. Waitress was very nice. Best cafe in the back of a gas station so far

If you have an issue with their food don't bother complaining. They'll just say it's not their fault and treat you like you're subhuman. Not worth the money. I won't be back. Even if the food is right 99% of the time, you still have to own that 1% where you messed it up.
