Metro Diner

Went here recently while passing through. It was a nice clean place, and we were greeted right away and seated. I had the steak and scramble skillet, but I git it with sausage gravy instead of holindaze sauce. It was very good. It had a lot of steak in it and was a real stick to your ribs breakfast. Also pictured is scrabled eggs, home fries, and bacon with a side ofngravy. Also Yummm!!Do it!!

Delicious food and friendly service. The avocado bacon, egg bowl is larger than it looked. In some pictures here I ordered toast, which I didn't need as the portions are good. Only disappointment was the coffee - it tasted like hot water.

After dropping my son off at ISU for a weeklong event, my wife and I wanted to find some good breakfast. The strong reviews on YELP helped us decide on the Metro Diner. We were NOT disappointed. This is a great diner with excellent food and service. Driving into the parking lot, it was clear that there were many locals who frequent the place, so that was a good sign. The service came quickly and we were delighted that they had a variety of mimosas, so we had a flight of those along with good coffee. I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken benedict meal and my wife enjoyed a good eggs, extra crispy bacon, and pancakes. It had the feel of a slightly upscale diner combined with your friendly neighborhood diner. Yet, the prices were great and the food was excellent. If one of my sons chooses a college in Terre Haute, I can see the Metro Diner becoming a regular stop. It's also located right off of I-70, so I can see this as a great pit stop when travelling.

I had a wonderful experience. First off, i was on a work call and requested to sit isolated in the back, which the hostess gladly agreed. Also, I had a wonderful waiter, Ike. Really great food. Super hot fries with my modified "Turkey only" Club sandwich, and as always extra pickles. I will be back for this sandwich! SO GOOD! If I ate pork I'm sure the original is amazing.

We stopped on the way home from Cincinnati, and decided to try Metro Diner. We really enjoyed our meals! Each of us had something and tasted each others as friends do. The chicken pot pie was excellent, the meatloaf was a hit as were the breakfast items. And our server, Paulina was awesome! Love a place with good food and good service! Next trip is to Columbus and we will be stopping again!

This is a newer restaurant in town and if we really enjoyed it. We went there on a Saturday because it is not open for dinner. This makes it a little difficult to go to.I had the friend chicken sandwhich and it was really good. The fries were not too basic either. The friend chicken is a few of their tenders on the sandwhich. The honey mustard was really subtle. I got more on the side and dipped my chicken in it. This has a hometown feel to it even though at this point it is a chain. The original location I believe was on Drivers, Dine Ins and Dives. Service was great! Very attentive.

Love this new addition in Terre Haute! The staff was friendly and service was so fast -- we literally got our check right around when we got our food so we weren't stuck waiting! I got a mimosa and the fruit waffle. The waffle was full of blueberries and had way more fruit on top compared to most fruit waffles I've had before. We also got an order of the biscuits and gravy which was HUGE. My boyfriend could barely finish it all. Overall the food and service was incredible! However, the menu is pretty limited so I wish there were some more combo options, as there aren't a ton of options to get combos outside of the b&g.

Server was nice and fast. Food was ok, not quite what I expected. Thought it would be more like home cooking

Maybe we ordered the wrong things for breakfast. You know how some places have specialties? I've heard that Metro Diner has great burgers or chicken and waffles. We didn't order those. Instead, I ordered The Two Egg Breakfast. My eggs were rubbery and cold. No one likes cold eggs! I'd ordered a biscuit instead of toast. It was hard and cold. My partner ordered the French Toast. Like many places, the syrup is not real maple syrup. The coffee was weak. It was not great.Our server was nice enough. And, the surroundings were cute. That said, I'm willing to give it a shot again for maybe another meal.

Food was delicious! Tawana was our server and she was perfect from beginning to end. Thank you so much we will definitely be back if in the area.
