I have now been to two weddings and a formal event at Mavris this season and it is a great venue and hidden gem in Indy! 3 story building with an outdoor roof portion perfect for cocktail hour or ceremonies. The industry feel is breath taking! I have had both buffet style and plated at Mavris. The service was professional and efficient. My plated steak was by far better than the buffet due to the temperature but that is typical expectation for buffet style. But otherwise some of the better wedding food I have had in the city!Parking is down the road under the bridge and can be left overnight which is a nice perk for weddings or late night events. My only complaint is the train and helicopters can be heard during ceremonies and cocktail hour. So if noise is an issue for you I would stray away but otherwise great venue for your next event!

An absolute stunning event venue! I've been lucky enough to attend two weddings at this venue now and both have been beautiful. The differing levels and ample space allows each guest to truly be able to embrace the party. The welcoming room, the outdoor garden, the stunning views of downtown - all are only ways to enhance the design of the entire space. The staff was friendly, the entire venue was spotless and the food that was served was spot on. Everything seemed to move along so seamless, and from an outsider looking in - the bride and groom seemed to be having the time of their lives (As they should!) An excellent choice for a downtown Indianapolis event!

I can't stop gushing about this place. Mavris is simultaneously rustic, modern, urban, elegant, and traditional. If you're driving south on East Street, you would miss it tucked in the corner on your left past the heliport, but it is a hidden gem! The first floor is a lobby area with large couches and a chandelier. You'll find a coat check and men/women bathrooms as well. Head upstairs (wheelchair friendly with elevator access to all three floors!) to a large rustic-feeling room with hardwoods galore. I attended a sorority formal here and it easily accommodated 200+ guests spread amongst the dance floor and tables. Oh, and did I mention there is an incredible patio lawn on the second floor (the "garden terrace") with a panoramic view of the Indy skyline?? Feels like a posh backyard, and with the string lights hung up, it's uber charming. You kinda forget you're in an urban jungle (until you see a helicopter land -- might be noisy). I knew I was in a fancy venue when I saw the women's bathroom and bridal room. Did Aubrey Hepburn get ready in here? Picture a classy, department store boutique furniture with light pink walls and a gallery of images from past events. This would be an incredible choice for a wedding venue! Many thanks to the kind and attentive staff for a wonderful evening! I'm hoping I get to attend an event at Mavris again soon!

Beautiful interior. Convenient parking. Friendly and efficient staff from coat check to event coordinator. Attended for a wedding and was wowed by the elegance of the space. Exposed brick, hardwood floors, elegant fixtures paired with lighting to create a romantic ambience. Next to railroad tracks which was a fun perk to see the train pass at the windows. Lots of wide open space to strategically set up cake, photo booths, gift tables. Nice way to personalize space.

This place is absolutely beautiful. The rooms for the bridal party are amazing and well decorated. Maddy the event coordinator for my friend's wedding was wonderful. But, I do have some complaints. The center is old so you can hear everyone stomping and walking from each floor. It was only an issue when people were stomping around dancing. The food they picked was amazing buuut they wouldn't just sit it at every seat. They only brought it out when they saw you at your seat. Many guest didn't know this and didn't even get to eat. They didn't see food at their seat so they thought they were forgotten. A lot of people were up taking pictures or mingling so they left their plate. Some plates that were barely eaten were taken away because it was left unattended. The bride and groom, who were obviously busy with all their guest, left to take some pictures. When they came back their plate that was only half eaten was gone. There is also no outside food or drinks allowed but you are allowed to bring your own wedding cake.

We fell in love with the Mavris just moments after walking through the front door. We were in awe of all of the warm, beautiful wood and that GORGEOUS chandelier. It is truly a one of a kind venue due to its multiple levels and all-inclusive elements that make planning and your wedding day a breeze. Not every wedding venue includes catering, an awesome outdoor ceremony space (as well as a beautiful interior ceremony space), a day of coordinator, and an entire team to set up the wedding of your dreams.Hands down the best part of our experience at the Mavris was our planner and confidant -- Aly. Aly and her staff are all EXPERTS in the wedding business. She is fantastic at her job. She is fun, caring, pays great attention to detail, so quick to respond to any emails, and above all knows how to get people to where they need to be with a smile on her face. We had a slight hiccup with some furniture pieces not being delivered the day of and Aly was immediately on the phone and with her magic was able to get everything in place before I arrived. I did not even know there was a problem. We were slightly behind schedule, but Aly and the rest of the Mavris team put me at ease and everything went perfectly. We had the most perfect outdoor fall wedding ceremony followed by a fun and love-filled reception. Everything was so magical and romantic and whimsical and authentic--totally out of a dream! Couldn't imagine a better space, or a better experience. THANK YOU, Mavris!

The first time I attended an event at The Mavris building, I immediately fell in love with this venue. It happened to be the 4th of July and it just happened to be a perfect place to see all the fireworks. Building is set just southeast of downtown, and you have full line of site to the downtown skyline. The first floor resembles an art gallery, but it is such a functional space that it can be used for just about anything. I've seen pool tables brought in, DJ booths, artwork and stages set up. The high beamed ceilings and the beautiful wood flooring throughout give any event held there instant credibility. The view is great and depending whether you're on the second or third floor, the view just gets better and better the higher you go. This was definitely on my short list for wedding venues and the wedding planner you work with over there was very thorough. I always look forward to seeing John Mavris when I go in as he is a really personable guy and generally in attendance at the venue. The pictures right now don't do the venue justice. This place is DEFINITELY a place you have to go to if you get the chance.

This is for the cool in you.I had the opportunity to visit the Mavris Art & Event Center during the launch of Gusto, which is an app which manages your email and social media accounts. (Great event, by the way; Kudos to Verge Indy & Gusto)The Mavris is an extremely cool place. It's a combination of hardwood floors, ambient lighting, exposed duct work, and awesomeness. I work as an event planner, and I spent almost the entire time that I was there envisioning events which I could host in the space. This would be the perfect place for a "hipster" wedding, or a truly epic 30th birthday celebration. I could also see an awesome "house party" happening here. With both indoor and outdoor space, the Mavris works for all seasons. I'm looking forward to visiting again during warmer weather so that I can enjoy the outside spaces more. My only objection is that the space is very sparse, so it would take some doing to dress it up as anything other than what it is. Also, the facility does not have tables/chairs available, so you'll have to rent all of your event necessities.I would recommend the Mavris if you have a large budget and a larger imagination.

I love this place! I have been to two events here and both were spectacular. First, it is deceptively large. Multi-stories with large second and third floor patios. I went to a beer fest and by the end, the restrooms were still spotless and fully stocked. That alone is worth having an event there! There is also ample parking just north of the event center. If it's raining, you're only outside for a second, then you are below an underpass for most of the walk to get there. It has an old industrial feel, but also polished wood floors and fancy lights. You could definitely dress it up or down depending on your event.

This place was just beautiful. We went here for a sour beer festival and this place is just insanely gorgeous. Nice decks and an awesome outdoor grassy area.
