When I entered the restaurant I felt so charmed by the white tablecloths and glassware. I thought this is what restaurants used to be like and how it should be. Not a place of plastic. I'll pay more for that. And eventhough I wasn't dressed in my finest as I was in my hiking clothing, had no idea where I was going to eat that day, the waitstaff were warm and welcoming and attentive. The vibe to me was similar to New York City but with more space and relaxation. It's a totally classic and relaxing atmosphere with no loud annoying music. First the bread is very generous and dense yet light and tastes and feels homemade. The bread oil is infused by the restaurant with herbs and oh so much better than the places that have a random oil poured over chunks of salt and gritty spices, Ewe.But really since the bread is soft there's not even a reason to have oil to soften it. But it enhances the flavor even more like instead of butter. The iced tea was perfect and the water tastes perfectly like it should- pure and fresh, not like it just came out of the treatment plant.I had one of the specials which was a fish. I don't remember the name but I will never forget the texture and flavor. And the sauce was so perfect for the fish because it was sweet-peppery, creamy and mild- not too much garlic. And I could still taste the flavor of the fish. It wasn't like the places that give you the cheap fish and jalapeño pepper sauce to cover the icky taste. The rice was fluffy and yum. I'm a foodie girl and this whole experience of eating was unforgettable to me. I went on a weekday when it was not busy. But I loved it!!!! I can't wait to take another trip to Noblesville just to visit Matteo's.

Probably the best Italian food in Indiana! Had seafood lasagna, and Damn was it delicious! Calamari appetizer was on point, pistachio pasta dish my son had was amazing. (Forgot name). Really good wine list, I had a great old fashioned, the ambience was so cool with all the old pictures and the fact that they don't rush you and treat you special was refreshing.

Matteo's great as usual for our anniversary dinner. Food great. Good service. We tend to get the same thing. Potato Croquettes and fried ravioli. Caesar salad, Filet with Gorgonzola cream sauce. And tagliatelle I had them as some walnuts this time. Walnuts go really well with cream sauce and sun dried tomatoes. We left very full even without dessert. Only complaint would be the competing music. The music in the kitchen was too loud drowning out the more subtle music in the dining room.

We have been here for dinner several times. Always great friendly staff and amazing authentic food. Love the owners as well, when they can they go around to tables and check in on how everything is going. They CARE! Also good wine selection.

10/10- and we will be back!I wasn't sure what to expect because of the mixed reviews on Yelp.Greater kindly by the owner for our 5:30pm Friday reservation. Wasn't busy at all when we arrived. But busy when we left. Our table Felt pretty intimate for a large spaceThe waitress (who we later learned was the owners daughter) was fabulous! Very kind and knowledgeable of the menu. We started with fruited mule and woodford on the rocks. I LOVED my mule and I'm kind of a mule snob. Tasted freshWe had the calamari to start. Delicious and it was a large portion. The complimentary bread and dipping oil is very nice touch. My husband got the Mahi mahi special and added noodles. He said it was the best meal he's had in Indianapolis since we've moved here. The sauce was absolutely divine (a red pepper sauce) and the fish, cooked to perfection.I had the tagliatella (sp?) the chicken sausage with the sweetness of the sundried tomatoes was different and delicious. For dessert we had the tiramisu and canoli. The canoli was out of this world. It had a bit of a citrus taste to it which really made it special. The tiramisu wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was enjoyable. My husband and I were very happy with our meal and we already thought of the people we'd like to bring here.I feel like Matteo honestly really plays to both authentic Italian food but is leaning into pleasing midwesterner taste buds as well, and they do it well. Bravo!

My first time at Matteo's but it definitely won't be my last. A couple friends took me here when I visited recently and I just enjoyed everything about the place: atmosphere, food, and top notch service. We closed the place down but the waiter never felt the need to usher us out even though clearly he was the one waiting to lock up. Strongly recommended.

Our family is in town visiting from Arizona and we had to bring them to the best Italian restaurant in town. The food was amazing as usual and the service was exceptional as always. We started with the amazing appetizers. The bruschetta is to die for and the caprese is always delicious. I had the lasagna which is always a winner. My father had the bolognese which he said was amazing. My wife had the pistachio pasta which was delicious and my mother had the gnocchi which she enjoyed.

We came here with my family on May 2021 for dinner to celebrate cousin's college graduation for nursing school at the Marian University. We had reservations. Upon entry, the restaurant is a large size. It is gorgeous! Made me feel like I was in Italy. The ambiance and beauty was captivating. It's not very loud, moderate noise. It is an Italian restaurant so you'd have to expect moderate to loud noise LOL! We had reserved a table tucked in the corner with window views, almost floor to ceiling windows Big windows. This space allowed for more privacy which was really pleasant. We were a family of six. I had the Salmon Limone (don't recall the price) $20 something I assume. Salmon sautéed in a delicate white wine-lemon sauce with capers. Served over Linguine pasta. That was super delicious! Another family member had the Tortellini Matteo's $19.00 which is a Cheese stuffed Tortellini pasta. Served over a creamy sauce with ham, mushrooms, onion and parmesan cheese. She said it was good but very filling. She saved half to take home. I didn't take pictures of the other food ordered. We tried some drinks. I don't recall the names and I can't locate it on the menu. They were delicious as well. Our server was excellent. She made suggestions of what she knew was popular and delicious. I would definitely return. One last thing, 20% Yelp check in discount when you dine in Monday-Thursday.

Loved the ambiance and the decor. The owner Joeceer was very friendly and very accommodating. Brian served our table. Took very good care of us going through the specials, bring bread and oil, water and taking our drink order when ready. Food was amazing. Our table had a variety of dishes and everyone commented how good and tasty their diner was. I had the penne with bolognaise sauce. Outstanding. One of the best I ever tasted. Have a lemon cello after dinner drink before your leave. Delish and very smooth.I would surely recommend Matteo's. Tell them Gary sent you.
