Main Street Cafe

Ordered a breakfast salad dish that stated poached eggs with your choice of meat over a bed of spinach. Was disappointed when what I was served was a spinach salad with a hard boiled egg and bacon crumbles; didn't quite match the menu description and reminded me more of a lunch dish. Found it a bit odd that I was charged $.75 for a cup of water. If I had known that I would have walked back over to get my water bottle from my car. Not "bad," just didn't match the menu description.

Ordered the chicken Cesar wrap with a side of carrots and hummus. Overall was just ok

Main Street Café is a great little lunch spot just off the main square in Kokomo. The menu has the classic café offerings - soup, sandwiches and salads, with the option for combining two (soup and salad, salad and sandwich). They have a lovely espresso machine and a limited variety of hot tea as well.The food was good - the one thing i would recommend for improvement is switching from plastic plates and silverware to real silverware and plates.

Nice little lunch spot with a friendly staff and quite a few options. I tried the Greek chicken pita sandwich and it was quite tasty. Sometimes hot sandwiches make the chicken rubbery and I didn't experience that at all here. The "side" choices are fun: hummus + carrot, apples with caramel sauce or sun chips. It's nothing fancy, but tasted good--especially for a small town joint, and glad to find an independent place to patronize. Saw a lady walking out with a fancy coffee/ shake/ whipped cream/ drizzly sauces concoction that looked amazing. Fun sitting at the front window watching the Kokomo world wander by.

Veggie Hummus wrap had great flavors! Great atmosphere. Plenty of street parking. They had sea salt on the tables which was great. Only wish I could have gotten grilled mushrooms in the wrap.

I stumbled upon this place by pure accident on a cold Tuesday morning in December. I was taking care of some business downtown and happened to see this cafe across the street. The outside looked exactly like somewhere I would enjoy, so I stopped in for a coffee and some breakfast. Oh my goodness! The charm of this place was off the charts. My wife and I just relocated to Kokomo from a bigger city in Indiana due to some unforeseen circumstances, and finding a small local breakfast/lunch spot like this is a perfect reminder of the places we used to frequent, and dearly miss. The fact that such a wonderful little locally ran restaurant is around and surviving really speaks to the character of Kokomo that I think is hidden from peoples general perception. Being in the cafe makes me smile a little and feel like I'm somewhere I can truly come home. Is there a better feeling? Is there greater praise I can offer? I don't think there is. I've found our little corner of Kokomo. I can't wait to be back regularly. P.S. My latté and bagel sandwich were insanely delicious. The rest of the food on the menu looked amazing, as well as fairly priced.

They offer lots of choices, and we love the vegetarian and gluten-free options.

We walked out. We were traveling through Kokomo and like to eat at local restaurants and saw the 4 star rating and thought we'd give it a try. It was 2:30 and only 2 tables were filled. The rest were all dirty but we sat at one figuring they would clean it when they came to take our order. No one ever greeted us or made any attempt to acknowledge our presence even though two people were behind the counter making sandwiches and saw us sitting there. About 10 minutes later 2 women walked up to the counter and the workers went right over and greeted them and took their coffee order. We got up and left and one of them said "have a nice day" as we walked out. All I can think of is that it was a counter order place but nowhere was there a menu or instructions saying as much. Still no excuse for ignoring customers that long.

Great ambiance and coffee is amazing. Their white chicken chili is delicious as well.
