"That's all?"For all yeast knowers and cake truthers, the two donut test is a stalwart. My permanent pairing of blueberry cake and plain yeast is great launchpad for any lost souls. The cashier thought this was too few. I like that.Lab results came back in record time... Long's is a shoe-in. First in, last out build. She's really got it all. It warms my heart to know that amidst every race, color, and creed these sweet treats are common ground in Indianapolis.Amidst my brief queue, Doug laid some insight into his order. One cinnamon fry, taken home and microwaved. He drove down twenty some minutes just for that! I love the friendly reccs, really do, but that breakfast disc isn't surviving the parking lot. Don't expect a seat, frills, or pastel frosting. Instead savor the price and modest excellence of this storied grounds. History is written by the victors and it tastes pretty damn good!As always remember this, anybody who's somebody knows that everybody needs donuts.

I stopped for donuts on the way to see my daughter because I knew she'd appreciate the treat. I don't remember what day it was but it was pretty busy so maybe a weekend. I was still able to snag a parking spot right out front so I got lucky. The workers were very friendly and helpful in helping me decide what to get since it was my first time. I ordered a cinnamon roll/honeybun, regular glazed round and/or twist, brownie, and I think I also got a chocolate chip cookie. Everything was delicious, I just can't remember if they have buttermilk bars so I couldn't give 5 stars. The fact that I can't remember tells me if there was one it wasn't memorable. If they don't have one, they should. See how the result is the same? 4 stars until further notice.

Truly a gem of Indy! Old school, cash only bakery with the most delicious (and super affordable) donuts/cookies/pastries. The danishes were very good, especially the strawberry/cheese. If you're into sort of sour lemons, then the lemon version is perfect for you with a cup of coffee. But wow, the apple fry was 11/10! Perfectly balanced with chunks of apple & cinnamon and a hefty feel. Gave me all the cozy, wam feelings of fall! Will be back to try Mary Ann, glazed twist, etc...

Longs Donuts is an institution!! I remember my dad bringing home Long's Donuts and now as an adult I bring it home to my kids. What makes this place amazing...the fresh glazed yeast donuts that just melts in your mouth! They also carry cake donuts, danishes, twists, cupcakes and other fun pastries. It's a donut shop...don't come for coffee or eggs...just come for the donuts...also it's CASH ONLY...and if you come in the morning, expect a line...a fast moving line, but a line!

On the occasion of Long's Bakery's inclusion on Yelp's "must visit" donut shops list from each state, I suppose it's time for me to finally serve up my review of the westside donut icon. Long's was opened in January, 1955 by Carl and Mildred Long at this location. In 1987, a second location was added on the southside. Both locations are still open and still in their original location. Long's, in fact, is still in the Long family with Carl Long's grandchildren now running the operation. It has always been family-owned. Carl had worked in a German bakery and developed a lighter, fluffier yeast. To this day, a simple yeast donut remains their most popular item. As has always been true, Long's is a cash-only shop. The gas station across the street has an ATM. It's not uncommon to see a line out their door. They're in a residential area and are definitely a destination donut shop. Parking tends to be along the street, not exactly great for wheelchair users, however, for the most part it works. While I'm typically a "chocolate frosted" guy, in this case I typically stick with the traditional yeast donut. I have many fond memories of Long's. When I was a kid enduring many medical procedures due to spina bifida, a stop at Long's would be my mother's bribery for a job well done. It worked. Long's serves over a half-million customers annually. 75% of their business comes from donuts. Fun fact: Rapper Kevin Studdard once did a viral video about Long's Donuts. The donuts are awesome. The apple fritters are pretty great. Strangely enough, I'm not a big fan of the chocolate frosted. I will admit that part of my five-star rating is based on nostalgia and fond memories. I'm not even sure I can say Long's is my favorite shop in town, however, it's a shop I love and to this day I get cravings for the yeast donuts. I will note that this particular block can be a bit rough. While there's not typically any issues around the bakery, it's worth being aware of your surroundings. I'm aware of a couple incidents, including one recently, and the bakery is in a residential area. That said, Long's is an Indiana institution and definitely worth a visit.

Long's bakery has been a staple in the Indy community for 69 years. Parking is on the street-no lot. There can be a long line out the door most times, but they move the line quickly. Inside there is nowhere to sit, so be prepared to take your delectable treats to go! Also, be ready when it's your time to order! They are known for their yeast donuts. They used to be extremely soft and delicious, but the last couple of times I purchased them, they taste stale. Unsure if the recipe changed. The blueberry cake donut has always been phenomenal. Despite the change in the yeast donuts, I will still return for other donuts!

Amazing local bakery. Can't beat the quality and especially the prices. The cake donuts are the best - especially applesauce or blueberry. Cookies are also delicious. Cash only but goes a long way with the prices. Highly recommend. Prefer this over the bigger named donut shops around. They don't have the fancy donuts with bacon or cookies on them but the good ol' classics that will remain staples. I have worked with them for bulk orders for work and they've been great and flexible even on a shorter notice. If you haven't been here, you need to!
