I live pretty close to this site and found it very iconic. So, decided to take a film B&W picture of it... Planning to stop by ....

Definitely not what we were expecting. Was hoping for at least a BBQ option considering the sign is sticking out of BBQ pit. Furthermore, the bar was filled with smoke and there are no drinks on tap. Was not pleased with the quality of the food, as it was very dry and basic. We ordered a chicken bacon wrap and a chicken sandwich. There is a large porch area if you are wanting to go and eat outdoors.

I was in the area, and had 45 minutes to kill. The Sugar Shack popped up on Yelp, so I stopped in.Classic neighborhood bar. Cold beer, fried food (in a good way), and good people. This is a great spot.

Perfect roadhouse-type place. Soundtrack is intense, meaty, blues-y, diverse: Rage Against, Joe Bonamassa, 50 Cent, country (Chris Janson), Metallica. Food is great; burger was perfect. People are friendly ... no nonsense ... 0 pretense. Beer is cheap. I loved this joint. I'll visit again as soon as I can. What is the gigantic, abandoned facility across the street that's in the process of being razed? Wow.

One would never guess what's waiting inside. On this cold night were 6 jovial strangers gathered at a bar reminiscent of an old diner. Glitzy and kitchsy would be the interior decorating. A small griddle and 2 counter top fryers let you know what to expect from the cuisine. They did have one offering I thought was odd for a bar. How does potato crusted, deep fried cod sound? Sounds pretty good at 12 am.

Honestly wasn't sure what I was walking into when I visited with my brother and boyfriend, but left pleasantly surprised! It was beautiful, so we grabbed a table outside and started off with some bottled beer. The menu was so freakin cheap! I got a wrap, my brother got a burger, and I can't remember what my boyfriend got. Beer. The people were friendly. One biker guy had a ginormous pitbull that looked like a killer, but was the sweetest baby ever. He let us watch him when he ran in for a beer every now and again. I love animals, so this was a big factor in my rating.I'm not sure if we would fit in with some of the weekend crowds, but I feel like it would always be a good time no matter what!

Nice cozy neighbourhood east side pub, not huge. Nice neon patio but while not too cold Thursday night it was raining and did not sit outside. Lots of Harley memorabilia on walls. People from almost all walks of life come in, cordial and willing for conversation. Beer is in bottles and cans, I don't believe on tap. Roscoe's Tacos are next door, I hear is very good but was closed when I was there late Thursday. Disclosure: I probably wouldn't have made the 25-minute trip if not for a friend Diane who is the bartender Thursday and Friday, she is a sweet heart to every one. I will be back soon.

Random stop while in town for local race at the Speedrome. Charlene was great. Patty melt is fantastic and get the garlic wings. Love supporting the small local spots. This is one to hit again.
