Recently attended wedding here. Beautiful setting!! History of the mansion is interesting. But the staff appeared to be struggling to be prepared. Flowers were actively dying......I felt sorry for the Bride.

Great venue for many occasions. Beautiful space for a wedding, with space both inside and outside to host ceremony and reception. Spacious rooms for a dance floor and cocktail seating. Easy to get to in the middle of Indianapolis and a great feel to the whole space. Could use a bit more Peking space but understandable since the venue is so old

If you are looking for a gorgeous home for you wedding or other event, look no further than Laurel Hall. My husband and I were married here in November 2018. What you will love about Laurel Hall:*Beautifully crafted home with a cozy and elegant feel throughout.*Staff experienced in event planning.*A large variety of caterers to chose from. Most event spaces only have one and you are stuck with them.*Venue is in a gated community, the property has security cameras and a security guard will be on site the day of your wedding.*Plenty of chiavari chairs already at the venue. No need to rent unless you want a different style!*A full bathroom and professional steamer in the bridal suite (presidential suite). Let me tell you that this is a great perk!*Endless photo op spots inside and outside. Your photographer will love you for it.What you may need to know about before you book your event:*Get it in your contract if you do not wish for holiday decorations to be put up. I think the decorations go up for Christmas after Thanksgiving no matter what, but the bride the day before my wedding requested them and I got stuck with them too (married prior to Thanksgiving). In the end, we loved having the large tree up. We ended up with a fantastic Christmas card picture.*If you are using the chapel on the third floor, be aware that the stairs are very slick. We had three people fall at our wedding. Note: no elevators.*You will need to include the gate code on your wedding invitations AND remind people of the code. Otherwise you will have a traffic jam at the gate and people may be late to your wedding. *All candles must be approved prior to the event. They really want to avoid open flames and I can't blame them.... this building needs to keep standing for many people to enjoy for years and years to come!Wishing you a wonderful event!

Laurel Hall is a very nice but small venue. I attended an up-scale baby shower here. The room we were in seated 7 - 8 tables with eight seats per table. It was a larger space in front of the smaller room, but the private room was definitely nice. The private, smaller room features big windows with a cute view. If you're having a intimate event and desire an upscale feel, this might be the place for you. I've heard that a few folks have had attended weddings ay Laurel Hall. However, I could not really see it unless you use the large space or having a small wedding. By the way, this venue sits in a gated community. Your guests will need the code to get in the gate. At the event I attended, the code was posted at the gate.

The team at Laurel Hall is incredible and will go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. The venue itself is elegant and filled with charm. I cannot wait to go back!

I can't imagine a more beautiful location for our wedding reception. If you'd like they have a chapel, but we were married at St. Joan of Arc then came here for the reception. The inside with the dark wood is elegant and the outside terrace is perfect if you're blessed with nice weather. Take a look at our photos for the real testimonial.Laurel Hall is an old mansion that is now the headquarters to the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity and Educational Foundation. On weekends the grounds are rented for special events.Book EARLY - space will fill quickly. Parking is VERY limited so we used shuttles to help move people around and save hassle. We ended up with about 130 guests, I think. It was tight. Their website says max 200 and that's no joke. Depending on how you set the room, you will be lucky to fit 150 in the main dining room. Laurel Hall is not cheap, but their staff is professional and easy to work with.

Im so in LOVE with this place. I came here because I went to a wedding a few years ago and my mother in law is planning her 50th wedding anniversary party and I suggested Laurel Hall because I thought it was beautiful. When we came to go over the rooming and contract, the staff was SO nice and accommodating! The space is gorgeous and private... So private, that you need a code to enter the gated community that Laurel Hall is housed in.The prices for the event space is the most economical I have seen in a while. This place is truly romantic and seems like it is out of a story book. It is one of the best venues I have seen for the amount you spend. I love this venue! Totally worth it!!!

As a previous bride, please consider very carefully before booking Laurel Hall as your venue. If you have a good amount of free time and like to do everything yourself, this is a good choice. You are quite literally only pay for the view (which is stunning in pictures, don't get me wrong). There are soo many stunning venues around Indy that offer or even include services/products for you to use on your wedding day. They provide tables & chairs but you have to rent chair pads from another vendor. What kind of wedding venue makes you rent chair pads for dinner chairs? (Also not disclosed in the price). They also list in their packet that "security" and an on site coordinator is included. I didn't see the "security" one time on my wedding day, and we met the on site coordinator early in the morning on the day of, then he was no where to be found the rest of the day. My DJ & other vendors ran into issues and had several questions unanswered because the venue coordinator was gone. ALSO i paid almost $1,000 for string lights to be hung on the terrace. (Also should be included or at least offered by Laurel hall in my opinion) the only decoration i really splurged on because it set the mood for the whole night and we had dinner on the terrace. No one could figure out how to turn them on/where to plug them in because we couldn't find the venue coordinator. They were off most of the night... The ceremony chairs looked AWFUL (picture included but looked way worse in person) they mixed white and yellowish chairs?? And they were COVERED in bird poop. Looked absolutely terrible and I'm horrified my guests had to wipe them off. The last thing I'll mention is that at the end of the night, everything was thrown into a room with TWO other wedding decorations/inventories. So the following day when we had to go back and pick up our stuff, the rental company and I had to DIG through trash bags full of table cloths for me to get mine back. It was absolutely ridiculous. I also still never found my black napkins from the wedding because everything was tossed all together and i just took the loss. I was told all of this would be looked into, but it wasn't so I'm hoping another bride can take from this post. The day was beautiful and the venue is gorgeous. But that is all you are paying for is the view, the staff will be no help to you in any way. And at their price point & experience in this industry, you would expect much much more.

*background* I have 6 years experience in event management in Indianapolis. This was my first time being part of a wedding I didn't work. Laurel Hall was a nightmare. Ceremony had mismatching white and ivory chairs, the set-up team didn't bother to make their mismatched chairs look structured. Catering was 2 hours late on dinner service; There were only 2 servers for 150 people.. it took over an hour for us to get dinner as we were the last table. We had to eat while the toasts and speeches happened, it was embarrassing to hear clinging of forks because we were so hungry.I could continue to go on but I think this explains enough. The booking price for this place does not match the service you will receive or deserve to receive on your special day. Not recommended.

I would 100% recommend Laurel Hall to anyone looking for a beautiful unique venue. My husband and I were married at Laurel Hall in 2022 and it was an incredible experience. Planning a wedding can be so stressful and Laurel Hall made the process very easy. I myself am in the wedding business and I can see how expensive things can also be. I work with wedding stationery of any kind from thank you cards to invitations to save the dates. If you are interested in an inexpensive local business that you can count on you can visit my Etsy page https://willowweddingstudio.etsy.com. My name is Sarah and I am always available for any questions.
