We stopped by La Parada in Indianapolis for lunch, and from the outside, I'll admit it looked a little... let's say "quiet." There wasn't a soul in sight, and we were starting to wonder if we had made the right choice. But stepping inside, it felt like we were transported into a cozy, vibrant Mexican spot with the typical charm you'd expect. On the server's recommendation, I ordered a Michelada. Let's just say, it was spicy and packed a punch ! For the main course, we got chicken fajitas and veggie fajitas. The sizzle alone made it worth it, and the flavors did not disappoint. And, of course, we couldn't resist ordering flan for dessert. Sweet, creamy, and the perfect way to finish off the meal. Service was also prompt and warm. All in all, despite the initial "is this place open?" vibe from the outside, it ended up being a delicious and memorable meal. Definitely a hidden gem if you're ever in Indy!

Our meal was fine, mas o menos. The thing is: A Mexican restaurant needs to have excellent rice and beans, and they'll be forgiven of many sins. The rice and beans at La Parada are just OK. Things kind of spiral from there.I got the chicken mole enchiladas, and the mole was super sweet. Mole is supposed to have some sweetness to it, but this was a step away from eating a dessert. We also got the carne asada, which was very chewy. It was so chewy that I had to instruct my youngest son on how to eat it because he was having a hard time gnawing on it and getting it down. They have a kids menu, and my kids both got mini burritos. La Parada gets a thumbs up for not serving the burritos with sauce on them. They are actual burritos. The kids' burritos are very small, though -- more like soft taco sized. This actually was a great size for my kids, but just be aware if you have kids with bigger appetites. Kids meals are served with fries -- there wasn't any other option.Chips and salsa are complimentary, and they were fine, too. I wish I could find another adjective to use to describe the food, but I guess "fine" will suffice. The menu is also completely too big. There are so many items that it's overwhelming. It's almost like they need to pare down the menu and focus on making the things they're good at.

The good: those birria tacos! The bad: service is slow and inattentive.Family Also had the 3 beef taco meal. Food came quickly. Nacho chips were stale. Might come back for a birria taco lunch, but not a regular family dinner spot.

A friend of mine has been raving about this place for a while now and we finally decided to check it out, and WOW, thank goodness we did! This place is awesome! The service is nice and quick and the food is phenomenal! We started with an order of Queso as Chips and Salsa were already provided. Both the Queso, Chips and Salsa were AWESOME!!! This salsa tasted fresh and came with fresh cut cilantro on top of it, YUM! I ordered the Birria Tacos and they were phenomenal. I know that Birria seems to be trending everywhere now, but this places understands the assignment. Corn tortillas that are crisped and ready to dip into the wonderful soup! All ingredients tasted very fresh and full of flavor! The menu is expansive and I do look forward to going back and trying out some different menu items as they all looked good. They also seem to have a choice for everyone, from the more authentic side to the Americanized menu items. If you haven't yet, you need to check this place out!

Came here on a Saturday evening for dinner and was surprised at how busy it was! Despite the crowd, I was immediately seated and our server was prompt to get drinks started for the table. I ordered a veggie burrito bandera, which came with a side of rice and beans. For $11, the portions are HUGE and was only able to finish half of my plate. For vegetarian diners, they have such a great variety of dishes - tamales, enchiladas, soft/hard shell tacos, burritos, chimichangas, etc. There's something for everyone! The value of the food here is incredible and the staff is always friendly. I have never had less than a 5 star experience! Bonus: they have 2 tvs on opposite sides of the restaurant, so I was able to watch football while I ate :)

I was looking for a cool date night spot with margaritas (in honor of Jimmy buffet). The is a trendy Mexican restaurant. It has a decent sized parking lot, a decent sized dining area and a decent sized outdoor patio. The dining area has a waiting area, booths, tables/chairs and a full bar (without seating). You will find a few televisions around the dining area for you viewing pleasure. The staff there is very friendly. The restaurant has a very extensive menu with all of your traditional Mexican favorites that include tacos, burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, elote, tamales, flautas, chimichangas, and tostadas. They also have some very savory cocktails, including margaritas.....score. And be warned, the large margaritas are HUUUUGGGGGEEEE!I ordered the Enchiladas Suizas, which came with refried beans and rice. It took about 10 to 15 minutes for me to get my food. but just like pretty much every Mexican restaurant, they serve you bottomless chips and salsa while you are waiting. I also ordered a large Sangria-Rita to wash my food down. It was so large I had to sit it on the table and drink from there. It was strong and savory. I was going to go with the frozen Sangria-Rita, but my server gave her honest opinion about the drink and that she had gotten many complaints about the frozen drinks and did not recommend it. So, I went with the on-the-rocks version. My enchiladas were delicious. I really enjoyed and highly recommend them. It was tasty, fresh and hot. This restaurant is very hip, trendy and colorful. They have great service, and tasty food that is very reasonably priced. You really should check them out. You will not be disappointed.

We have been eating here for a very long time. I say that because we always had really good, solid dish offerings, broad assortment...authentic and generally fun. We stopped in last night looking forward to some of our favs. To say we were surprised would be an understatement. I have never had chicken tacos with Sysco "chunks" of chicken in my travels to other like restaurants. It was pretty weird. We didn't finish our meals and we both commented that something was different. My hope is that whomever has bought the place can improve. Service is central and the prior team wasWelcoming, accommodating and you never had to ask for a thing. Out of shear allegiance I will go back and I will hope it's better and I will amend these comments accordingly. Cheers!
