Kits & Kaboodle Classic Toys

This is such a sweet spot! Our son explodes with joy whenever we come in here. There's a wall of realistic-looking trucks and construction vehicles that just light him up. They have a lot of creative and innovative toys here, but the best part is the staff. They know exactly which toys appeal to which age groups and are happy to get on the floor with your kids and bring down toys that they think they'd love. They seem to really have a finger on the pulse of the toy industry and be great with kids. They seem to really care and it shows. We've gotten a few fun toys here over the past few months and really appreciate the range of toy prices and sizes too. Last time we were in, they invited us to an upcoming story time and while we couldn't make it, we hope to attend one in the future!

I wanted to update my review, because it's been 5+ years and Kits & Kaboodle is in a new location. They are now located in Carmel City Center.It's the same toy store I love, although the location is slightly smaller than the old one. But they still have a fabulously well-curated collection of toys that kids love. They are really good at offering suggestions, too, so if you're stumped on what to get a kid for a birthday or holiday, just ask someone who works there!The staff is still really laid back about kids touching and playing with all of the toys, and they even have some tables set out specifically to play. They also offer free gift wrap with your purchase if you request it, which is why this is the place I go when I need to buy a birthday gift. It's a one-stop shop! Get the gift, get it wrapped and you're done.

Very cute toy store. Went on Small Business Saturday so you can imagine it was busy. The store is not very big, but has a wide variety of items. Staff were friendly and very helpful in locating what I was looking for. Definitely recommend!

Cute store. Checked out their new location. When you first walk in, it doesn't look like there's much here as it is a pretty small space, but upon closer inspection, you notice how many items are actually on display. I was trying to find a present for my toddler and realized that I already owned most of the items here and didn't find much else appropriate for his age, but I did find a felt board set that I took a chance on and he ended up LOVING it. I didn't experience the level of customer service that I would expect from a small, more boutique-like store, but maybe I just caught the employee on a bad day. I always appreciate being greeted and being offered suggestions for what I am looking for. Overall, I think their offerings could expand and their service could be more helpful, but it's a sweet space when shopping for quality, creative toys.

This is an absolutely precious toy store. I stumbled upon this place by chance when I was in town at another nearby store. It looked so cute on the outside that I had to go inside. As soon as I walked in I was reminded of Meg Ryan's children's bookstore from the movie "You've Got Mail".The store is small and welcoming. It is divided into sections based on type of toy. I was fascinated by the back corner of the store full of the dress up clothes and everything pink! I also, found some really cool educational/puzzle games that I had never seen anywhere else. I didn't interact much with the staff since I was just browsing, but I watched them interacting with other customers and their children and was very impressed. The cashier was very patient while a little girl paid for her new toy with the change out of her change purse. I found the selection here varried and the prices were very reasonable.

This is one of those specialty toy stores that features the more creative, hard to find toys that you usually only see on the Internet. Yes, the merchandise is a bit expensive compared to the landfill-fodder that you'll find at the big box stores, but it's worth the extra cost. These are imaginative, high quality products for inquisitive kids. The best endorsement I can give is to say that I love the toys myself, and I could easily spend two hours trying out everything in the store. That may point to a more troubling personal issue that I have, but we'll save that for another day...

Kits & Kaboodle is an alternative to the classic big box toy store (you know the one) full of aisles that offer no help finding a special gift. We received a Welcome Wagon gift certificate for a free plush toy that lead us to here.Combined with educational and entertaining toys, Kits can help you find a perfect gift. Friendly employees know their product and can offer plenty of suggestions. Located in a strip mall with other businesses, the size of the store isn't intimidating. The space is large enough to house lots of options.

So excited to find Kits & Kaboodle in their new location! This store has always carried unique & creative toys. It was our favorite toy store when our kids where young, now I'm back buying baby toys for nieces & nephews!

My mom was looking for the classic Pick Up Sticks game for her grandkids and called this toy store. Not only did they have the game, but the sweet lady (maybe the owner) offered to deliver it for free, since the shipping was going to be high on a $7 toy. So, the toy was sweetly wrapped (for free) and delivered (for free) quite a distance away. Five stars for sure!

A cute toy store that has something for kids of all ages!!!! We walked in close to closing time so our daughter didn't have much time to shop. And, we didn't want to be rude and stay past closing time. However, Our daughter was taking her sweet time and the owners knew that she didn't want to leave. He went to the back room and brought out a basket full stuffed animals and let her choose one to take home. Even though we didn't have time to buy anything that was very sweet of him!!! We love local shops like this and will definitely be back!!!!
