Kidscommons is a great little secret gem located in Columbus, Indiana. There are two parts to Kidscommon. There is the children's museum that is stem based. It teaches you the water system in your home and even has a huge toilet that kids can go down via a slide. It provides 4 floors of fun learning for kids ages 2-12. I think past that age , it could be less interesting to the older kids. The cost for the museum is 10.00 for kids 3 and up. Adults are 14.00. Across the street from the museum is Kidscommons indoor playground. This is free and provides hours of play for the kids. They have areas for toddlers, 2-5, a section for 5-7 and another section 7 and up. They too offer stem games in a fun interactive way for the kids This playground is free of charge! Even if you do not want to go to the museum, this is a fun free activity for the family! I definitely will be going back!! Also, when your go to the museum, they will stamp your hand so you can go back and forth to each venue This is definitely a place you will want to check out and only 40 minutes from Indy. When you are all finished learning and playing, you might want to check out the ice cream parlor a few doors down from the museum. That too is a fun place and definitely worth checking out!!

This is a great place to have a family outing. There are activities for toddlers and older kids. I purchased tickets online and the employee was able to locate my tickets in the computer under my last name. The two employees working provided great customer service. All displays, activities, and toys are very educational. It gives parents the opportunity to relax on the benches while watching their children play as well as play with the educational toys with their children. There are playground areas and tons of toys so it is guaranteed there is something for all kids to enjoy. My baby loved the play stove and refrigerator and the bubble room.

What a local treasure for families! I continue to be impressed by how family-friendly Columbus, IN is. We have gone out of our way to spend many Saturday mornings here from Indy. This children's museum in the heart of downtown is no exception. The price is fairly affordable and it seems that membership would be wise for locals who want to attend a couple times a year. It's also conveniently located across the street from the Commons free community indoor playground. The three story little museum packs a punch. You could easily spend a full afternoon here exploring everything. The space felt fairly clean and well-maintained. I also loved that they had a space for crafting and small parties.Definitely worth a visit!

This is a reasonably priced indoor play spot for little kids. I do agree with other reviewers when they say that parents should be free or atleast have discounted admission because this is strictly a little kids joint. There is free street parking, with a 3-hour time limit, available to park. I had no issue finding a spot. I was able to pull right in. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. The place has a little kid door that littles can use to enter the building. The place is 3 levels. On the first level, littles can build Legos, make a train track, color and do art, play with a robotic arm, and play in a Japanese dining area. There is also 2 rooms down there where they hold staff led art. I will say, they do have to up their art supply game. The supplies are pretty old and need to be replaced. The second floor is home to the bubble are where you can pull a bubble up over your body, a huge jungle gym that features a toilet that kids can go through and a kitchen with a thermal camera. There is also giant checkers table, and a large chess board on the floor. You will see a house that use to be a rock climbing wall in the center of the floor, but it is no longer operational, or at least while I was there. The third floor has a nature theme and has a small jungle gym with a slide, a climbing net, a spider display, animal skulls, taxidermized animals, drums and pipes to beat. My littles liked the second floor attractions the most. The bubbles and toilet were there go-tos. There were some bigger kids, probably teenagers playing here, which I found shocking because this place is suitable for 10 to 12 year olds at best. I was not packed though and there was really no waiting to play on anything. The place was pretty clean and organized. This is not the best place of this type. But, if you factor in the price and location, it becomes more comparable. Now that the weather is getting colder, indoor play places will become more popular. This place should definitely be on your list of such places to visit. My littles and I spent about an hour and a half here and I had to pull them out. Also, I recommended checking out the free indoor playground located across the street. It is very nice, free, and can help fill out your itinerary.

My kids mostly enjoyed the playground upstairs and the area with the bubbles. I feel like there were lots of little areas or exhibits but they didn't keep my kids entertained long enough. They kind of just walked through the areas. Usually I have to drag my kids out of places like these, but they were ready to go within an hour.

From the outside it looks like an office. Inside see 3 floors of fun for all ages. Kids climb down into a toilet bowl to slide down the plumbing. We tried the bubble room, visited the nature floor. We had 7 and 9 year old boys and we left after 2 hours as it was closing time. They would have stayed. The man upfront selling tickets set us on the right path with his suggestions on what to see first.

I had a great time here with two nine year olds. Kidscommons is large enough for there to be ample things to do, but small enough to be able to keep an eye on your kids without constantly having to follow them around. Safety is key here. They have several safety notices. They are along a busy road and when my daughter (with permission) ran out the door to put something back in our car, an employee was IMMEDIATELY sprinting after her to make sure she wasn't running out without a parent. I was very appreciative that they were so quick to notice and make sure everything was ok. Currently you purchase tickets for a three hour window, and that's about how long it takes if you want to enjoy every attraction. The ticket prices were very reasonable for all the kids were able to do.

Unfortunately this place of business does NOT update their hours. My granddaughter and I arrived today looking forward to exploring and learning only to be disappointed. Too bad! I was considering a membership today too. Disappointed.

I am really starting to get the vibe that Columbus, Indiana, is a very family-centered town. Everywhere I look, there is something awesome for children and families to do, and Kidscommons is just one of them. This is more like an indoor playground broken up into three stories, with different centers of fun stuff to do. On the first floor there is a toddler area with a hollow tree to climb in, an Airstream to sit in, and bridge to cross and a picnic table to eat pretend food. Then there is a rotating exhibit that features items from different cultures. When we visited, they were featuring Japan. Off to the side of the first floor is the art center, with so many art supplies available, it is amazing. They even have a hot plate to melt things (I think crayons?)! On the other side is an area to build a town with blocks. On the second floor is where we spent most of our time. There is a huge rock climbing wall (which is an extra fee), as well as a bubble center where you can make bubbles that you can step in! The best part of the second floor is the house, where kids can crawl into a toilet (!), visit the attic, learn about where the water travels in a house, go up and down stairs and more. On the third floor there's a pretend grocery store for young children, several basketball hoops, hula hoops, huge blocks, exercise equipment and a dance game. We only spent about 2.5 hours here, but we could have easily spent all day. One of the awesome things about Kidscommons is that it is directly across the street from the gigantic, humongous, extremely fun and FREE indoor playground in The Commons. Kidscommons lets you go in and out if you stamp your hand first before leaving, so you could play all day between this museum and the indoor playground. This is definitely a fun destination.

My son in-law and I took 3 grandkids here. The price was not bad. You could also leave and come back with your hand stamped. The first floor has an area to hang your coats! Also on the first floor it has a craft area for drawing, coloring etc and 6 other stations for the kids. The second floor an area for the kids to shoot basketball (like they have in game rooms) and other activities. The third floor had the big action. This is where the toilet slide, rock climbing bubbles and more are. The girls loved this floor and the first floor well already that is where they spent most there time. This place is worth the money and fun. !!
