The look of the place is cool, and the history of it and all is cool. But the food was gross and made my mom and sister feel sick, they served up a old greasy grimmy ketchup bottle that looked to be from the 90's with a nasty pealing off label wasn't sure if it was the original ketchup or if they just keep refilling the old nasty one.The Fridge and freezer are out in the open for everyone to see, and not to our surprise they pulled the food out of the freezer and warmed it up in God knows what. Just ordered fries, onionrings and two tenderloins.Fries were gross and soggyOnion rings looked as if they had been cooked twice, idk maybe leftovers reheated but not good either way.Tenderloins were comparable to pork fritters you make at home and were at least edible. Not to mention they had around 3or 4 kids running all over the place being extremely loud.It might be nice to go see a band there but I wouldn't eat the food. Maybe the food is better when they have concerts i don't know. I don't think I'll go back and find out.

I do not know how this place is ran since the original owner who died had it ? However, when he had it he used people to make a good profit from the business without even paying them anything for their help. He was a rude and arrogant individual who was an opportunist. I only hope the new management is better at it than he was.

Key Palace Theatre - Hidden Gem for Live MusicI am going to admit that I have lived within 50 miles of this place and had never heard of it until recently. I was looking at tour dates for another blues artist and saw that he was going to be in Redkey. What! After tracking down the Key Palace Theater I saw that Larry Garner was going to be there March 11, 2011. So the story begins. The place is obviously an old theater with 220 theater seats and a stage.. Attached is a concession area which is really a limited offering diner. And they have a bar as well. Larry Garner had been here before and called it a raggedy old house for live music. To be honest there is some rough edges but the seating is regular theater seats and the sound system is great for this facility. The front four rows are theater seats from probably the 1920's while the other seats are 60ish.This is the kind of place you should see live music. The band is right there in front of you and you can see every little movement and sound. It appears that there is a group who come here pretty often , they know each others names, they have a 50-50 drawing. However the people running the place and the patrons are all friendly. The concession area had a Zeke Burger, chicken tenders, something else along with french fries and popcorn and soft drinks. We had the Zeke Burger and fries. The Zeke Burger is generous (you add your own condiments) and the fries came right out of the fryer. The concession area has stone pillars and all of the walls and ceiling are covered with pictures or drawings. InterestingThe bar has a limited selection.I got beer and it they only have a few brands. Hey this isn't some fancy big city joint!! You can take your drinks into the theater and the seats have those kind of pull up desks in schools so you can set your drinks or food in front of you.Back to the walls of the theater. There are frames of pictures of some of the people who have performed here. Wow.I have seen Duke Robilard, Lil Ed and the Blues Imperials, John Hammond, Marcia Ball and others at places far less cozy than the Key Palace Theatre. Oh Larry Garner's Blues Band was beyond great.Look for the keypalacetheatre and find out who is coming to Redkey.
