J's Lobster Food Truck

I was really intrigued by all the lobster items over here and husband really wanted to try the Lobster Mac & Cheese so that's what we got. The mac and cheese itself was quite creamy and cheesy, but I wasn't a fan of how the lobster went with it. But I think that's just me the topic of seafood related pastas. Husband definitely enjoyed this though!

Visited the lobster truck in New Castle for festival. Loved the quesadillas and the aoli mayo dip. Hush puppies always crisp, hot and good flavor. Today the Mac n cheese was dry, and had very little cheese. Felt like I was eating a bowl of plain spiral pasta. Wasn't worth the six or seven dollars I paid for it. Solid dinner, great flavor but skip the Mac n cheese.

Got the notice via Facebook that J's Lobster Food Truck would be at the Zionsville, IN Lowe's parking lot and I had to check them out. Their hours for this location was 5p-7p and we got there at 6:40 and the line was already forming. People I had talked to in line hadn't tried them before and also heard about the event on FB. The wait was well worth it and fresh seafood was phenomenal! I personally had the Crab Mac and Crab Roll, while the wife had Shrimp Tacos and an order of Hispanic Puppies. Everything was great and we'll definitely check them out again, as well as their brick and mortar location. The food was hot, still warm by the time we got home, good portions and for the money it was worth it and the service was very good too! We were also given a business card that was good for 20% off our next purchase. I've done a Facebook post on the J's Lobster Truck and many have commented on it. I really hope the truck makes this location at least a once per quarter stop if not more. Also if I may say, a permanent location in Whitestown would be ideal!

We tried J's Lobster Market today as part of a Yelp event but of course I purchased a few extra items. J's is located in the Garage Food Hall on Carrollton Avenue between Mass Ave. and 10th Street. Parking was easy, and affordable, with a prepay lot off of 10th Street running $5 for 3 hours. The sidewalks and streets were cleared of snow and salt was on the sidewalks.When we entered a sign listed each business and which direction to turn. The Garage is split into two sides with a long hallway separating the two. Very helpful since this was our first trip to the Garage.The space is a big food court with seating spaced out for social distancing. After ordering our food, the New England Lobster Roll, Lobster Mac & Cheese, 2 Hush Puppies, Coleslaw, Chips, Lobster Bisque and a soda, we struggled to find a table. A tall 2-top became available so we grabbed it even though it was surrounded by Clancy's customers waiting for their food. The chairs were extremely uncomfortable and our table wasn't very stable. The food was amazing and thank you, J's Lobster and Yelp, for this incredible meal. The Lobster Roll was delicious on a soft sub roll and piled high with sweet lobster; then the Lobster Mac & Cheese was creamy, cheesy and so good. The 2 large Hush Puppies had a light texture and slightly sweet plus the coleslaw was good without a mayonnaise base. The Lobster Bisque was hot, a generous portion with small pieces of Lobster throughout. I would order again. The staff was friendly and helpful and there was a slight wait for the food to be prepared. Even with a group waiting social distancing was adhered to. I will definitely return soon.

Visited the truck at the Government Center downtown. The truck was well displayed and I could tell that it was going to be delicious by the long line of people waiting. I ended up ordering the Shrimp Quesadilla and was quite impressed. Everything was very fresh and came with some aioli sauce that was delish!!! I would have totally given 4 stars except that it was $20 which is a little pricey and could deter people from ordering again. The service was amazing though and I would definitely be interested in trying a lobster roll next time!

Delicious! Being in the Midwest sometimes fresh seafood is hard to come by. So glad I tried this truck! They were stationed at Guggman Haus Brewing on Saturday. I went for the lobster roll and stayed for the beer. The roll came in regular or spicy, I think the difference was jalapenos. The roll came with house made chips that were seasoning I think in old bay -yum. It was truly a great roll. I didn't try it but saw the Mac n Cheese and it also looked amazing! Definitely will follow this truck around next time its near my area!

I've tracked the lobster truck downtown a couple of times around Indy - I always go the classic route and get the role with the chips they come with. Love it every time, can't go wrong.However, ventured out on my usual and tried the lobster Mac and gotta say - wasn't that great. I wouldn't say it's Mac n cheese which was pretty disappointing since usually a lobster Mac is creamy and cheesy. This one didn't even feel like there was cheese in just some noodles with a weird aioli sauce on it. French Fries are good though, tried those for the first time. Crispy and delicious.So, I'll be sticking to what I know. And if you're expecting a good Mac n cheese I would probably save it for another place.Glad to have you all in the garage!!

Tried this for the first time at their location in "The Garage" on Mass Ave and it's a great roll with AMAZING fries to pair! I have had other lobster rolls in Indy and this is by far the best option

I went to J's and was ecstatic for lobster. It's tough to find good lobster in our land locked state! I happen to be dairy free so I was a bit worried seeing that their lobster had mayo and butter on them. When I was ordering, I was informed that the roll also had butter on it and was a little sad. But, they worked with me and gave me their gluten free option of lobster on lettuce and then gave me just the meat- which was really nice of them. They made my whole day.The lobster was delicious. Love the old bay seasoning on there, as well!

I grew up on Cape Cod, land of the Lobstah Roll and Fried Clams. I had the lobster roll and husband had the crab Mac and cheese. The mac in the Mac and cheese was mushy and overcooked. It was supposed to be not spicy, but it was. The crabmeat was tasty. My roll was cold and soggy, not too spicy. The lobster meat was generous, but a little stringy. It came with some kind of bbq chips. Ick. I wish I had the option to order plain. I ordered and paid via pre-order that guaranteed our selection would not run out. That was nice, convenient and provided a minimum contact experience. People around the truck did not follow social distancing protocols. Since this is Indiana, not Cape Cod, I'd have to say it was fair overall, but the bar is low. It is certainly not Seafood Sam's.
