Joella's Hot Chicken - Indianapolis

This was my first time trying Joelle's and we ordered through the drive thru. There was nobody at the drive thru and we got our order quickly. I ordered breaded tenders and mac and cheese. The tenders did not taste fresh, the skin was tough, and not much flavor. They seemed like they were cooked a while ago and had been sitting under a warmer.The Mac and cheese was very disappointing. It had a very artificial cheese sauce with hardly any pasta.

This may just be the BEST chicken chain ever! We enjoyed our entire meals from beginning to end! I ordered two jumbo tenders with garlic parm fries and it was excellent! The chicken was seasoned to perfection. I loved that the fries were tossed in the parm garlic and it wasn't just sprinkled on top. We barely needed the sauces we ordered because the food was just that good!We were greeted warmly upon arrival and the cashier was very kind while giving us suggestions. The establishment was super clean and inviting and we will definitely be back soon!

Didn't expect it to be this good.We had chicken Sammie with garlic Parmesan fires and wings with mashed potatoes.Garlic Parmesan fries were awesome, Sammie was crispy and tender.Service was fast and friendly. Definitely eat there again.

I've never had a bad meal here! The food arrived super quick. I barely scooted into my booth before the lady showed up with our meals! It was my friend's first time here and he really liked it! He doesn't like spicy food so he ordered the plain chicken tenders with the garlic parmesan fries and loved it! A great example why this place is one of my favorite in town! There's a spice level available for everyone! There is a nice ambiance here that makes it ideal for families or large groups! I always leave full without feeling weighed down like other fast food joints! You can get two big meals her for under $20! What a st

Came here for a very late weekend lunch (~2PM) and there was no line whatsoever at Joella's. We just got a single sandwich to share since we weren't that hungry:Pimento Sammie, Ellas Fav w/ Parm Garlic Fries ($11.50) - The chicken was fried nicely, with a good crisp and a juicy interior. Ella's fav was more sweet than spicy, basically barely spicy - I would definitely get spicier next time. I found that there was way too much salt in the batter/breading. On certain portions of the breading, there was so much salt that I felt like it was burning my tongue. On top of the chicken, the pimento cheese was surprisingly good for the Midwest. Good slightly sweet pimiento flavor and fresh cheddar. The pickles added a good zing and it was all on a nice buttered bunParm Garlic Fries Upgrade ($0.75) - These had a nice parmesan, garlic and oregano flavor. They were kind of oily but they had a very good crisp.The salt levels could use some adjustments, but Joella's serves up some pretty good chicken and fries.

Received excellent service from the young man at the counter and was promptly served at a clean restaurant and table.He suggested the special which was two pieces of white meat on a piece of toast, and I took the side of green beans all which were very good

My first clue this meal wouldn't be good was the fact it was about 5:45 pm on a busy commuter street and there were zero people at the restaurant and my food was already sitting on the shelf but I was early to pickup. Then, I looked in my bag to find the $4 glass jar shortcake I bought was actually a $4 3-spoon-serving of shortcake in a plastic takeout container. When I got home, our chicken was so dry it was inedible. The breading was falling off, too. We redeemed a reward for a free side and got the fried pickles...They were not fried. They had barely a dusting of coating on them (not even enough to make them soggy but somehow...they were soggy) and they basically were just plain raw pickles. My son took one bite of his meal and asked "What's wrong with this chicken?" So...ultimately it's a snack dinner night. I'm really disappointed, Joella's used to be so good.

Hadn't been here in a while and was in the area. Didn't know they had chicken thighs which are my favorite! Long wait and it wasn't busy but overall was pretty good. Loved the kale salad, a bit too much dressing but tasted good!

Chicken strips were good. Thin fries pretty good as well. Tables not cleaned. Beware of huge potholes in parking lot.

Hate to leave 3 stars, I love Joella's! Always pretty fast, staff is always super friendly and nice, and the food is always so great! My bf and I live close, and pickup from Joella's multiple times a month. But recently a few changes have been made and the last 3 times (including tonight being the reason for my review) have left me very disappointed. THE RANCH!! The recipe for the ranch changed and is thick and doesn't taste good. I always get and LOVE the kale crunch salad as my side, but again the last few times has tasted extremely acidic and just different. We are also so sad about the collard greens no longer being on the menu! Again we love Joella's, but these changes have left me looking for something else when we need to pickup some food.
