REAL rating - 4 1/2 but it's YELP so........Exterior / Interior - The place is always kept maintained and clean. It is in need of a facelift because it is slightly outdated (it has only been in business for decades) BUT it is in no way run down.Owners and staff - Wow. What can you say but they are excellent and friendly anytime we have ordered. Service has always been top notch. On to the food.... I have only found 1 thing on their menu that i can honestly say I do not like and that is the biscuits and gravy. I am a biscuits and gravy snob so i am very particular about the taste and consistency when I try it at restaurants. I haven't found one in Gas City yet that I can honestly say I like and would order again. This is my personal opinion / review and you may go there and love it. I normally get a double cheeseburger from them at breakfast time (why - because I can and that is what I want). They cook the burger the way I want and it is always juicy and good. Only suggestion to them would be to add a little more salt and pepper before they cook it to bring out more of the fresh beef flavor. Now I haven't tried the daily specials they offer yet but I intend to soon. My family loves the fully loaded breakfast burrito and everything else we have tried. Breaded mushrooms, breaded cauliflower, and onion chips - yes please. Make sure to get a side of ranch for dipping....All around a great place to eat with great owners and staff.

I thought their breaded tenderloin was better than the one rated #1 in Indiana! It was also bigger and less expensive. I never noticed the restaurant and I've been through Gas City many times; but I am happy I saw it today! Opposing view: My wife did not like her liver and onions! I'll be back. Doesn't take credit cards; so be flush.

Small town diner in a small town! Not much on the menu and no vegetarian options other than the standard grilled cheese and ice berg salad for lunch. The place could use a good scrubbing to get rid of the stale smoke and greasy smell. The staff was friendly enough to a non-regular.

Uck.. how do I start off. Service is good. Food is like if I wanted dog food I would have went and bought some. My 10 year old wouldn't even eat his. Just had the basic gravy no flavor biscuits and eggs.. With how the hell did you burn the bacon black? Never will go back.

I find the review posted by Carolyn K. to be rather foolish. She states that Jackie's is "a small town diner in a small town!" as if this is something substandard. The population of the town she is from is only 791 people. She also states "it needs a good scrubbing to get rid of the stale smoke and greasy smell". This facility has been non-smoking for approximately ten years. In light of this, I doubt you can trust her comments about the facility having a greasy smell. Jackie's has a full menu. She has daily specials and would gladly provide for vegetarian needs. My granddaughter is a vegetarian and eats there often. I might add that the Mayor of our town is a regular customer at Jackie's as well as our Police Chief and his staff. Even the Governor of Indiana, Mitch Daniels, has joined the many who find Jackie's to be a great place to dine. Please overlook Carolyn's comments and put Jackie's on your list of places to visit.
