Had dinner here with a good friend while I was home visiting Terre Haute.So delighted that such a place exist in my hometown. The service was exceptional. The food was perfectly prepared. Overall, just a great evening at a great venue.Hope Terre Haute continues to attract more culinary experience

I'm a very picky foodie and never give a 5-star unless nothing is less than perfect! Can't believe it happens in Terre Haute!I've been living in Seattle for 26 years, go to New York and California often, and I always look for the best steak everywhere I go. Whenever there's a Japanese A5, I don't order any other steaks. Tonight I had one of the best steak dinner in my life!!First, when I stepped in, it felt very nice and I liked that it wasn't too fancy. I'd dress up for an occasion but not for good food. The seat was comfy with pillows, everything and everywhere was clean, including the fully-eqipped restroom.I order the beet salad whenever I see it on the menu, this one was by far the best!!! Each and every ingredient was fresh; the beet was perfectly cooked; the housemade dressing was amazing!!! It had the perfect balance of sweetness and sourness, and perfect thickness without any mayonnaise or too much oil! The burrata was a great addition without bringing down the taste of the salad. The prosciutto was a surprise! No fat, not too salty, fried just enough to act like bacon but tasted way, way better than bacon. It enhanced the flavors of the whole salad like putting a crown on a prince.I'm not a big fan of alcohol but I enjoyed my pineapple saketini!On to the A5 Japanese wagyu... what can I say? If they brought out this steak without telling me what kind of steak it was, I would've known it was A5 Japanese wagyu after one bite! No one can lie to me about a steak, one bite is enough to tell the truth. It was perfectly cooked, almost melted in my mouth! The seasoning was just right, enough to bring out the flavor but did not overpower a top-notch steak. They definitely know how to source, store, prep and cook a A5! More often than not, the A5 I've had before was ruined in some way.Last but not least, Melissa was a friendly and thoughtful server! My first visit to J Ford's was more pleasant than it would've because of her!I'll definitely come back for sure! Thank you for serving me a perfect dinner!

Provide an amazing experience. Love the atmosphere. Excellent service. Amazing food. It is pricey but worth every bit. I have been for work events and a couple of personal occasions. Every time was no less than perfection. Definitely recommend for special occasions and to celebrate life with friends and loved ones.

Food was incredible, service top notch. It's expensive but great for special occasions.

You can't go wrong choosing this restaurant. Delicious food served by talented servers. Our second time dining at J Fords Black Angus and will come again when visiting Terre Haute.

We went to this place this weekend and the staff was great and food overall was good. It is SUPER EXPENSIVE. $8 for a salad $12 for sides - the sweet potato casserole was incredible and $66 for an eight ounce filet that was not cooked to the temp I wanted. They charged $6 to add a small amount of bleu cheese on the filet. The thing that really pissed me off is that they charge a fee for using a credit card. You are way over priced on the food and too cheap to include the processing fee. When I go out to eat I have no problem spending money on a meal but for $250 for two people and for what we received was ridiculous.

We had dinner tonight with a party of 7.Service and food were both fantastic!Servers were very attentive. Appetizers, entrees and dessert...so good!

Exceptional meal and service. Steaks were cooked to perfection. The wait staff were attentive and enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Love their bar! We went late night for some dessert and drinks. The special pumpkin cheesecake with pumpkin spice whip was incredible. Some of the best cheesecake I've had! I ordered the fall special drink. It was an apple cider, Tito's & Prosecco combination and was so good! Perfect October drink.

Sourdough with blue cheese butter was delicious. French onion soup was excellent. Burrata salad very large and fresh. Martinis were a nice large pour. My daughter loved her filet and I LOVED the brisket tots- the tots were made from scratch! Had the butter cake for dessert and it was amazing - but very very sweet! Can't wait to come back-also excellent service!!!
