What a great Indy literary resource for the neighborhood. We were on the hunt for libraries open on Sunday morning and the library located within the Children's museum popped up. Note that you do not have to pay museum admission, parking is free and it's located on the second floor of the main museum lobby. You'll use your library card per usual and can make returns here. It's a quaint and charming 3k square feet focussed on kiddos with a few interactive elements and computers along with fun book displays. The staff was very helpful and engaged. It's seems that this location could use a few more interactive elements like the others but overall it's a fabulous resource.

While looking for a place to kill time between appointments- I always go for libraries. The closest location with free parking was the infozone! I have seen the infozone before on trips to the museum but had not been in. I parked in the free childrens museum lot and walked in. The infozone is located in the welcome area of the museum and on the second floor. The staff greet you and the library is a good size filled with kids books. They have a large computer lab for adults as well which is where I ended sitting. They had quite a few community members come in while I was there and of course visitors of the museum. They also have a single stall bathroom inside. It was a great spot to get some work done and in a fun location.

Love this branch! It is convenient since I work nearby so I can renew my library card, check out some books, and put books on hold to check out. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They have a computer lab for those who may need it. They match the museum hours which is very convenient. They even stay open late during the First Thursday hours. They have two drop off boxes, one outside and one outside the door.

Did you know that there is a library in the Children's Museum? Yes! There is a library in the Children's Museum. It's a small branch of the Indianapolis Public Library. So if you have a library card with the IPL, you can check out books here. It's pretty great. There is an awesome children's section here. Beyond the copious number of books available, there are lots of toys to play with, including puzzles and pretend food. There's also a green screen and camera where kids can pretend to be on TV. Like, they can pretend to be on TV reporting the weather, or pretend to play basketball and shoot baskets! It's pretty cool. What else? There are lots of kids' magazines. Audio books. Lots of DVDs. Kids have their own little bank of computers, with kid-size chairs and software with educational games and fun stuff to play with. On the opposite end of the children's section is an area for adults, with a computer lab. I guess adults can just come in here without kids? I'm thinking this is so. It's a real library, so all are welcome.
