We just checked out our first event at the 2024 Indy Fringe festival. Thank God we got s last minute discount price on the tickets. That was the most painful 45 minutes I have sat through in theater . Ever. And we are a fan of live theater. At one point I leaned over and told my husband " this looks like the"play" out elementary kids would come up with and we would sit through years ago.Very sad because it was our first play to check out with the Festival and we thought next year we might do a pass for multiple shows. Not sure about that now if they just let anyone sing and ramble through an incoherant mess that no one was clapping or engaged with :(

Fun. Inexpensive way to see good theater in intimate setting. Supports local arts and culture.

Oddly enough, I've been to IndyFringe twice - but never for a show. Once for a business meeting, once for a Yelp event. It's on my list to attend a performance here! They've got a small but mighty space just off Mass Ave near the north end. I easily find parking on the north end more towards Bottleworks. In addition to an intimate theater setting, they've got a nice outdoor gathering space that was the perfect venue for our outdoor Yelp event.Oh, and they put on Fringe Fest every year with hundreds of shows within a two week time frame. Support your local arts and performing arts!

Cute little venue with quality programs. We had the pleasure of Oscar Munoz , a talented magician/comedian. I was impressed, which doesn't happen very often. The staff was also so welcoming and warm. You rarely find that nowadays. And with Mass Ave around the corner, there are plenty of opportunities for drink and dinner before or after the show. Check it out yourself and support the local smaller art venues.

I was sitting outside in the small parking lot one evening with my wife and father in-law waiting to pickup a friend. One of the employees (overweight with a black/brown beard) starting to take a piss right by the entrance. He then proceeded to sit down on the bench to smoke a cigarette and sip on a drink (looked like a Monster). A small group of college kids proceeded to walk down the brick walkway heading unknowingly into the pool of piss so I yelled out to them to walk on the other side. If I would have thought about it I would have taken a photo of the guy for evidence. Low class employees. I've never been there, but don't plan on going if that's the kind of people they hire.

The IndyFringe festival is underway through Sunday, August 25th with hundreds of shows crossing drama, comedy, improv, dance, magic and more. Live theatre at an accessible price ($12-15) with 80% of the proceeds going to the artists! All the shows are 1 hour or less so you can squeeze in 2 or more shows in one evening. Saw an improv satire of Footloose last night and a show about Jeannette Rankin, an early suffragette which was both entertaining and educational (they don't always go together!). Check it out and then follow up with IndyFringe's regular season offerings.Thank you, IndyFringe for offering the opportunity to experience such a wide array of live theatre choices that stretch the boundaries of Indy's usual offerings. Am going to a show about a Vietnam combat photographer and a musical spoof, VolleyBrawl, tonight and expect to see both the sublime and the ridiculous!

I was here for Indianapolis Winter Magic Festival and the facilities are fine.I would offer just one suggestion that shouldn't cost a lot of money: Slope the seats (seat level goes up as the rows get further from the stage). The first 4-5 rows are flat on the floor and rows behind them are sloped. It's generally not a problem because the theatre is intimate (translation: small). That is unless you have King Kong sitting in front of you. What's worse is if you have King Kong sitting in front of you and you are a child. Then you are f'ed. And because there's no assigned seating, if King Kong arrives in the line before you and your children do, you're SOL.What else is worse than if King Kong sits in front of you? If King Kong has good posture, sits up straight and does not slouch. What's worse than if King Kong sits in front of you and does not slouch? If King Kong sits in front of you, does not slouch, and is sitting next to Mrs. King Kong. Your kids end up trying to see the stage from the slivers of daylight between King Kong and Mrs. King Kong.Just a friendly suggestion for an otherwise great locale.

IndyFringe is such a great asset to the community. I enjoy the prime location for the theatre as it is so close to many other pre/post show activities. They really seem to use the space to great advantage and the rooms look different every time I am inside, depending on the size of the play. I always get a good variety of shows and appreciate how they work to highlight diverse playwrights. I will definitely continue to attend and am thankful this space is available.

Indianapolis is lucky to have a ton of amazing theater. IndyFringe gives actors, magicians, improv artists, etc a venue to perform their art in front of appreciative audiences. If you're looking for something a little different from mainstream theater, this is the place! Ticket prices are generally low and the talent is generally awesome.

We had tickets to a play this evening. How disappointing to drive all the way there just to find out the show had been cancelled. No cancellation notice was posted anywhere online. Only on the board in the ticket office. Fringe could do a better job of announcing cancellations.
