I chose one star so I could post a review. I would not give this place a single star. Here is why...My wife and I are on a trip from Alaska to Miami in our motor home. We were about 4000 miles when we had our Indy Lakes experience. Truck was running great and other than being dirty from driving the Alaska highway, through Canada and 5 States was looking good.It had been a long day of driving. We decided to look for an RV Park in Indianapolis for an overnight stay. I called Indy Lakes. A woman, whose name I don't recall answered the phone. I asked if there was space available for my motor home. She asked the length of our RV and then asked the year. I told her that it was a 1994. She curtly told me that the Park only allowed RVs that are 2005 or newer. I had never encountered a refusal like this so I asked why. She told me that was Park policy. But why I asked. She told me it was for "aesthetics". I told her my RV was older but in very good shape. Her response, it was older than 2005 and was not allowed. She said other Parks in the area have the same policy. I told her that I was a disabled veteran and my wife and I were pretty beat and I just needed a place to stay for one night. Our situation and my status didn't seem to matter and she replied that our RV must be newer. A little frustrated I thanked her and hung up. My wife was shaking her head as she listened to our conversation.I decided to call her back. I asked what would happen if a 2006 RV showed up and did not meet their subjective aesthetic standards. I was told that they would also be turned away. That would mean that any RV, no matter what the year, could be turned away. Her arrogance and condescension was palpable. Surprised, I asked if they also had an age restriction and was preparing to ask another question when she exclaimed something and hung up on me. What I was going to ask is what if a disabled Vet showed up in a Pre-2005 RV that was not new but not trashy, and had been reconfigured to accommodate his/her disability, Would that RV also be turned away? Based on her response to me the aesthetics of the RV would be the determining factor.I respect a business to conduct business as they see fit. But I was very surprised at the representative's attitude to our situation and status. I took my money elsewhere. Given her total disregard for a veteran with disabilities I hope others do the same...

I have mixed feelings about this place. On the one hand, the people working here are very helpful and friendly. It is also the most affordable option in Indy. However, the campground is odd. The sites are incredibly tight, there is virtually no grass, and there really isn't anything to do for kids (no playground, trails, etc) outside of the pay lake, which is on the expensive side. We stayed here passing through Indianapolis, and it was a good location to explore the city. As far as camping goes, it feels more like a trailer park then a campground. Most of the "campers" here are permanent residents. That being said, I would probably stay here again, if for no other reason than the price.

Had reservation for one night with a 30 ft rv. No one at check in site. Called the number left 2 messages. No one replied. We waited there for at least 30 minutes no one came to check us in. I will not give this place a second chance. When you have been on the road for 8 hours the last thing you want to do is start looking for a place to stay. Which is why we made all our reservations ahead of time. Thank goodness we were able to find another site not to far.

I came to Indy March 1st to work on a long term assignment. I had to find a place to park my 31 ft Class A on very short notice and needed someplace that was open and had availability. I was told by another park this one MAY have an opening... I left a message and received a call back from Linda who had a space open up a couple days prior. I drove from CA to Indy and Linda stayed in touch with me the whole time knowing my situation. I arrived later than expected, was able to get in, another resident saw me searching for my spot and helped me find my way. I have no problems here, it's peaceful, folks enjoy fishing the lakes, the owner lives on site and waves hi when he sees me drive in or out. The park is quiet and that is enforced, never a problem with noise. Staff doesn't "bother" guests and everyone appears to mind their manners. I love watching everyone fish and see the fires around the lake at night... people are out enjoying life! I am not in need of a lot of fancy amenities so this place is perfect for me, it has everything I need.I feel safe here knowing the owner is involved but not pushy and his staff is respectful and caring. I thought this would be a very temporary stay but I enjoy my "spot" so I plan to finish out my assignment at this location. Thank You Indy Lakes!

I gotta give it 3 stars because the people that run this place are just great. But beyond that its laden with rednecks who watch 50in tvs in tents well through the night... The fog is unbreathable.

I've never experienced a more dreadful campground. I'll start with the least negative aspects. I have a concrete pad for the picnic table which I have to share with the next door camper and a fire ring that I also have to share with the next door neighbor. The WiFi is decent. I'm in town for a job and it's a few miles away so it's very convenient. It's also very close to just about everything you might need. Grocery, restaurants, bars, laundry, etc. The staff is very nice. They also have a very nice list of nearby necessities. Better than I've seen elsewhere. That's the best I can say. The campground is 20 feet from a very busy road and it's incredibly loud at all hours. It's mostly gravel and not too many trees. The nearest tree to my camper is a mulberry so my white camper is spotted with purple spots and I don't dare walk in with my shoes. Mulberry stains are semi-permanent. Very hard to get out. There is a pond for which you can pay to sit next too if you like. A couple people have told me that it's not well stocked and it's kind of expensive. I couldn't care less since I don't fish. The dumpster seems to always be full and for four days had dead fish stinking up the place. Now it has what appears to be a whole tree inside it. Trash is always overflowing. My camper has a pretty decent shower but I thought it might be nice to not be forced to use it all the time. I inquired about the public showers and found that they are a whopping $3 per use. WOW! That's $90 a month. I think not CRAZY! I was surprised to hear one camper tell me he's been here before. I have to wonder why. With all the great camping in IN why on earth would anyone come here except for it's convenient location to the highways. Other than "fishing" there is absolutely nothing to do at the campground. No playground for children, no swimming, Nothing, nothing, nothing. So really it's fine for someone here on business or someone stopping for the night but not for vacation camping.

Stayed overnight in our Class-C RV. Had to back in but spot was a nice large concrete pad. Quiet view of a small pond with ducks... till 6am; then the construction next door kicked in! Wireless was only for one device and had to pay $2.99 for any additional. Quiet time was all the time; but that was something we preferred anyways. Check in and out was easy and staff was friendly and accommodating. Site was a bit muddy and septic pipe came out of the ground at a weird angle which was difficult but otherwise no complaints!

Rented the lake house for race week. The house met our needs- very clean, comfortable beds and good a.c. Billy and Sandee made sure all of our needs were met. Really enjoyed the deck. Saw an eagle and fireflies. Watched the baby ducks and geese. Although there was a fishing tournament in progress, all fishermen were quiet and very respectful. Thank your for a great week!
