I like this dance studio. My daughter takes dance lessons here and loves the classes, the studio, the dances, and the instructors. My daughter is on her second year here. It has built her confidence by giving her accomplishments that she can show us. They have found her strengths and let her be strong with them. They have found her weaknesses and made them better and taught her not to be afraid of them. This last weekend (early November), there was a two hour free dance night in exchange for a good drive. My son went to the free night with my daughter. He didn't really want to go, but when we showed up to watch what he learned, my son was excited and had a great time. When he left, he was hugging the instructors and telling them thank you. I can say that it can seem hectic when it is time to drop off and pick up. It is a busy place with a small-medium waiting area. But, I will also say that once you come here, you'll learn the rhythm and realize that there is an order to it all. Over all if you are looking for. Dance studio, give them a try!

Monday night adult hip-hop is the bomb! Teachers Danielle and Jessica (who call themselves Jesselle) are hilarious and a blast to be around. They have such high energy and prepare fun choreography for each class. The average class has about 10-15 people in it, all at varying levels. Never danced before? Come! Danced for several years? Come! The first 20 minutes of class is stretching and a work-out. Danielle and Jessica then teach a dance and the dance is filmed at the end of class. The dances are posted to Facebook and get over a thousand views. Pretty crazy! Look up Jessica P. on Facebook to see the kind of dances taught. They also allow the class to suggest songs that we want to listen and dance to. Very interactive. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because I'm always confused about whether I need to check-in or get a slip of paper each time I'm there because the system has changed a few times.

My child was bored. The time of day was hard for a child. It felt like a waste of a lot of money.

Hip hop, hippity hop, I said a hip hip hippity hop.I love to dance but I'm no professional. Indy Dance Academy not only offers dance classes for young ones, but for adults too! Danielle and Jess, two of the instructors at IDA, make adult hip hop class such a fun workout. All levels are welcome. The first half an hour we engage in a bit of cardio and toning and the last half an hour we are diving into some really cool choreography. If you like to have fun, like to dance, and love an entertaining workout, check out this class asap!

I started taking the adult cardio dance classes here a few months ago, and I have so much fun every time I go! I've tried all 3 adult classes: hip hop, cardio hip hop, and piloxing. The teachers and the class styles are all different, and each has something to offer. In adult hip hop, you learn choreography. About 6 months a year, you learn 30 seconds or so of choreography per class, and each week is a different song. The other half of the year, the class works on a recital piece. Performing in the recital is optional. In cardio hip hop, Megan teaches a Zumba-style follow the leader class, with top 40 hip hop music. Songs alternate between fast and slow beat for a great cardio endurance workout. She switches up the dances and adds new ones regularly so students don't get bored doing the same ones over and over.I had never heard of piloxing, but I love the class! Jordan is a great teacher, although unfortunately she's moving very soon. Piloxing is a combination of the intensity and jabs of kickboxing with the balance and strengthening of Pilates, all with a great playlist in the background!

I signed my 3 year old up for ballet and tap. She attended class for approximately 8 months. We stayed this long because my daughter had a friend from her school in her class. The teachers are professional. However, the administrative staff is dismissive and condescending. It is definitely not a warm environment. I rated it two stars because my experience was fair. There are many dance studios in Indy that greet you with a warm smile and are happy to have little ballerinas running around their studio - this is not one of them. Save the not so reasonable fees and give them to another studio.

I took the hip hop dance class (for adults) last year. It was a good time and the instructor was very good! Stefanie has done a really good job of the programming at the studio, and she made it easy for my friends and me to jump into Justin's hip hop class.

Highly discourage anyone giving Indy Dance Academy your hard earned money. The management needs to take a lesson in responsibility for their employees and their actions. My family left an iphone charger in the waiting room. We called back 10 minutes after leaving it and were specifically told they had found it and it would be held for us. Returned 2 days later and were told part of it had been misplaced. After two weeks, 6 phone calls, and no returned calls from management i finally talked to the manager. Her response was basically sorry you depended on my employees to be responsible, and tough luck. What happened to the customer comes first? I'm sure management will comment on their policy, etc...you be the judge. It's not about the $30....it's about taking responsibility.
