Tonight was Voice Box again! It is the 2nd Tuesday of every month at the Indie Lounge. Patrick is at the bar to serve a cocktail, beer, wine, or appetizer. Before the music and storytelling starts, there are sports on 3 televisions. Service is speedy and served with a smile. The Christmas tree is already up in the mall by Nordstrom on the lower level. The theme next month, December 12, 2024 is "December."

Sometimes, I just like popping into Indie Lounge when I'm shopping at The Fashion Mall at Keystone to get a little drink to help make shopping for clothes more fun. (Because I hate shopping for clothes.) But mostly, I visit when I'm at the Landmark to see a movie.I've visited this bar many times, and every time has been a pleasant experience. They have a full menu of cocktails -- sometimes even special cocktails that are themed with the movies that are playing. They also have a decent wine menu. They also have local beer available, and some snacks. The bar has a door that enters from the mall, but also a door that you can access from the theatre. There are lots of tables here, and it's never crowded. It's usually pretty quiet except for the sound of whatever is playing on the TV above the bar -- usually sports. All of the bartenders that I've encountered have been extremely efficient and friendly. They'll usually ask you what movie you're here to see, or how you're doing, which I don't usually care about but it's nice when they do it here.

Although I've been to the movie theater often, this was the first time I've been when the Indie Lounge was open. It's a small lounge with a movie theme, though there were some silent sports programs on the large televisions. They have a three way liquor license so you can get cocktails, including a variety of house specials, some with movie connections. There are beer (craft and domestic) and wine options as well. While I was there, another customer ordered a "Bucket" which is filled with ice and four beers which he could take to the theater to enjoy while watching a film. (Note that the bartender has to open them before you leave the lounge so that you aren't carrying them off site.)I decided to go with the Indie Lounge Martini which was a tropical flavored creation using Malibu Rum (coconut) as the building base. Very tasty. Expect to pay higher prices for this convenience than at hole in the wall bars. Still, the option is nice to have when considering where to enjoy a night out at the movies.Review #2801

The bartender is awesome! He was able to get through a ten person line in no timeWhat blew my mind is that he got ever order correct, every charge correct, while letting people know that he could scan their tickets AND tell them which theater to go to AND fit in a bit of chit chatHe even remembered my drink 30 minutes and a bunch of customers afterwards!
