My fiancé loves racing and we always have a great time when we visit the Indianapolis Speedrome. They have a great variety of races. There isn't a bad seat in the house however I suggest bringing bleacher seats for the wooden bleachers. Hold off on eating dinner before you come as well. Their nachos are delicious and their tenderloins look pretty good. I LOVE the margaritas that they sell and the sugar rim tops it off perfectly. For the kids or kids at heart, they have snow cones, cotton candy, and dippin dots! The biggest complaint I have for this place is that many fans smoke in the stands and it's hard to get away from the smell. I wish they would ban smoking. Also be prepared to hear some foul language as the fans are really invested into the races. If you can handle those few bad things, come on out for family fun at the Indianapolis Speedrome

For $15.00 we watched lots of different races, the figure 8's are by far the most exciting, the bus figure 8's are just incredible, not really ever seen anything like it, we were on the edge of our seats. The seats would be my only complaint, but if we had been here before we would have known to bring a cushion or something because these wooden bleachers are killing my ass. The food and drinks, pizza, burgers, hotdogs, pretzels, nachos, snow cones, and of course lots of alcohol. Their are people smoking in the stands, cigarettes and other things, couple of times the smoke was a little overwhelming, maybe would've had to change seat if we had brought the kids. The parking is free, and not too long of a walk to the entrance, and I was parked all the way at the rear of the lot. Definitely would recommend.

This is a great place to spend an evening, I live in walking distance and hear every race and fireworks display. The admission is reasonable as is the food and beer. Yes beer! You can see many styles of racing with different style cars in the same evening. My favorite is the figure 8 racing. Unbelievable that there's not more wrecks. Exciting!!! Check it out! If you're bored come here and you won't be anymore

This is the hardest review I've ever written. I want to avoid being like some vegetarian reviewers who disparage a steak house because it serves meat - it's not catering to vegetarians, so it can't be judged that way. Reviews should be about how well the place does "it's thing".I'm giving the Speedrome 4 out of 5 stars because I'm judging it for what it is, but if you have never been to something like this then you should be prepared for a few things. Skip to my last paragraph. We had a little trouble find parking. Their main lot was full and it wasn't clear where to go for more parking. We just followed another car to a lot across the street. We walked up to the ticket window and received a friendly greeting. The woman at the window saw my Navy hat and immediately said that if I was a veteran I got a discount. Nice! As we gave our tickets at the gate, I said it was our first time and asked where a good place to sit was. We were directed to the top row of the main Grandstand, and we had a great view from there. During the races the announcer did a good job of calling the race, and pointing out cars having trouble. The other guy did a good job keeping people's attention between races. The concession options were adequate with pizza, hot dogs, pretzels, popcorn, peanuts and candy. Drinks were water, pop and beer. The prices were very reasonable. We felt the grounds, the seats/stands and the restrooms were clean and well maintained. (They only had one hand drier in each restroom, but we noticed most of the crowd not using it anyway, so why add another one.)The racing itself was very exciting! The Figure-8 races were better than the oval races. I can't believe we didn't see more wrecks. Crazy! Cars were criss-crossing within inches of each other at higher rates of speed. My only knock (lost a star) is that there was no seating area designated as non-smoking. We actually left before the last race because we had enough of the smoke. So, if you have never been, be aware of the following: 1. Cigarette Smoke. I've been in smoky places before, many bars or clubs, especially indoors. But I don't think I've ever seen so many people smoking, or smoking as much as this crowd. Despite being outdoors, and a steady breeze, we don't think we had more than a dozen un-smoked breaths of air over 4 hours. It is why we left early. 2. LOUD. Very loud. Thank God we took earplugs.3. The crowd. Not rowdy, we never saw a fight or felt threatened. But if you take kids (and many people did) be prepared for foul language, lots of tattoos (not butterflies, flowers or dolphins), cutoff shorts and tops that would be prohibited at many "family friendly" places, and some excessive drinking. Think about Honey Boo Boo's family, or Jerry Springer guests. I'm not passing judgment on anyone, I'm just creating a visual picture.

One of my all time favorite things to do in the summers. This is a quality experience that I think everyone should take part in once in their lives. The Speedrome is just a good time! It reminds me of a simpler time when racing was such a big deal here. They have different events there are the midget cars and the regular. The figure 8 is easily my favorite. There is just so much excitement in this kind of racing because you get to see a lot of wrecks. Sometimes on accident, but drivers typically get upset with each other so they'll wreck others on purpose. If you look away for an instant usually you miss something!

If you are looking for something to do around 7 pm on any Saturday night April-mid September, give this small asphalt track a go. I gave this track 4 stars because I believe it deserves more of a facelift and the food could be better quality. Food:Hot dogs, popcorn and beer. The 3 essentials to a great race night with family and friends. Overall there could be more options. Parking:Plenty of that, 2 lots with lots of space. No fee for parking either! Tickets:Bring cash, it's much easier trust me. A family of 4 can usually get in for under $50. Lastly the Late Model race cars are a must see! They are usually the last race so stick around until the end!

AKA Kitley Speedrome!!!If your looking for low dough entertainment on the east side of the city look no further, for you just found the best cheap thrills on the east side!Every time I'm here I feel like I'm gonna run into a Burt Renyolds movie character around every curve, and I suppose I have seen his Hoosier doppelganger, who's just not quite as fetching as the Hollywood version (The Hoosier Bandit doesn't have the same "hair" budget ;-). Anyone can go to the 500 or even Clermont raceway, but there are only a hand full of mini super 8 tracks left in the country, and Indianapolis Speedrome happens to be the home of the World Figure 8 Championship!!!So if you find yourself with nothing to do on a hot and muggy June evening, put on your dress jeans and your dress boots and buckle up for high speed thrills the like that's seen no other place in the City. And if you leave your cell phone at home, it will feel a little like 1974, an easier happier time.

Been once, not a huge race fan but this is a neat little place. They could spend some money fixing it up but doubt they can afford it. Track is small so lots of action. Food was surprisingly good and decent prices. Parking was iffy, then again they don't have much parking. We parked along the street.
