I've been to the museum probably approximately four times since '99. I was able to enjoy free entry at one time years ago unless there was a special exhibit in which there was a fee. Regardless, this is an exceptional museum, and it is worth the price to get in even to see the features and exhibits. I saw the Georgia O'Keefe exhibit years ago. It was stunning. Recently I went to see the Salvador Dali exhibit. Wow wow and wow. Did I mention wow?!I am a HUGE fan and have been for many years. I was fortunate to go the main museum in St. Pete Florida years ago. That was mind blowing and stunning, and the IMAs exhibit also did not disappoint. The movie feature that is illuminated on many walls in two connecting and flowing rooms in the first main area you walk into is magical and outstanding. It showcases and touches on Dali's life from childhood until his death. It discusses his art as it morphed and progressed into a deeper and more profound surrealism. I would go again just to try to watch the cinematic feature to absorb it more because it was immense and intense.I would also recommend the room on the second floor that is a meditative experience. There are abstract images that slowly move and change projected on the ceiling. They also play soothing dreamy music. You can sit and recline on chairs in the room to get a better and more relaxed view. I don't recall that exhibit being there since the last time I visited the museum. I am looking forward to seeing the winter/holiday lights at Newfields soon.

So it wasnt my intended museum but uber took me there, and it had grounds so i stayed. It did not disappoint! It isnt as big as say the DIA, but it was enough to spend real time at and quiet enough to absorb the art and take time. After i wandered 1the grounds, checked out the Lily house and had a beer at the beer garden. So as a group of places to see out here, well worth it. Very enjoyable!

My friends and I attended The LUME Van Gogh art exhibit in Indy. The overflow parking area and check in was easy. Many of the guests stay put in a spot to enjoy the music and video. We walked through the exhibit and took many memorable photos, participated in photo booth and some interactive sessions. Toward the special exhibit exit, there is a gift shop specific for Van Gogh then one more photo op before we head back to the museum lobby. What a fun and cool experience!

The best new feature of the art museum is The Lume on the fourth floor. This is where the Van Gogh immersion event is taking place. Ticket prices are $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers. This event continues until May 30, 2022. Included in the price is the art museum itself and the Newfield Gardens. Unfortunately it was a rainy day so we didn't view the gardens. Still the price of seeing the Van Gogh event plus the permanent exhibits of art was well worth it. In fact it was a bargain compared to what other cities are charging for the Van Gogh immersion event by itself. My one criticism would be as the the first ones in the morning to see the event we were kept outside in the rain and cold until exactly 11:00 am. I feel they could at least let the patrons in a few minutes early just to stand in the lobby out of the elements.

a great collection of art. having the works of Joan Mitchel, Georgia O'Keeffe, Alma Thomas is an incredible feat, especially when you consider the museum being free. actually don't quote me on that. there was an information desk that looks like it sold tickets, but no one stopped us so we just walked right on in. also walk the ground of the lily house while you're in the area. the house itself is meh, but the surrounding gardens are gorgeous

I love our IMA/Newfields! It's a classy venue with a great vibe. The exhibits are exciting and good for the imagination. Looks like they have added additional serving areas. Of course The Lume was fabulous

A must-see in Indianapolis! Assuming this is the yelp page for the actual museum, seeing as I can't seem to find another one: This art museum is one of the best in this part of the country. They have a wide verity of art, from oil paintings to sculptures to glass art to fashion. They also feature an expensive outdoors area, with gardens and small museum locations and places for snacks/beer. I stopped by on a whim to kill a couple of hours, and wish I had given myself more time. This is easily a place to spend the bulk of a day wandering and having a great time. (No pictures, because I think it is unethical to photograph someone else's art)

This museum was the home of the Lillies commonly known for their pharmaceutical company and Indiana bussiness leaders. Several well known art and paintings. Many innovated prices of modern art. Classic movies for all seasons from two theaters outside and inside. Underground parking. Several buildings to explore on the grounds that host concerts near the large pond. A separate section dedicated to Indiana artists. A museum centered in a park. Special events are scheduled all year around and membership is recommended. Cafeteria on the first floor. Elevators are available but take the stairs or escalators for a better view.
