Beer & Yelp Swag - a sweet combo :)
The cigar table provided some post-party entertainment. We are not pros by any means, but loved the picture opt.

Several times I've argued with their "customer service" and always had a hard time getting things resolved. Since I never gave up and I was fed up with them I said I wouldn't be renewing. Got some snarky reply that they weren't going to renew me. Whatever. They still owed me a ticket to an event and have ignored my request 3 times. I'll be sure to talk to the BBB about their practices. The events I've attended were consistently lame. Samples too small, vendors always run out of their product, basically a waste of time. They can't even stretch it out to the end I'm glad I never bought VIP to get an extra hour!

Such a blast! When I heard it was a beer tasting type of event, I pictured only being there for about an hour or so, but ended up staying the full three hours because of how much fun it was. I wasn't at the first Tasting Society event, but this second one featured Books & Brews, Taxman Brewing Company, Sanctuary, and J & J Winery. Sanctuary is an up-and-coming brewery and will donate a percentage of their sales to animal sanctuaries- pretty cool! The cups they used had a hole on the bottom with a magnet over it, and then they would push the cup down on a button and the cup would fill from the bottom up. It was fascinating. I tried the "Honey Badger" beer and it was light and summer-y. Books & Brews had some of the coolest beers on tap that I've ever heard of. There was one called "Bertie Bots" where they had added candy to their brew and it was incredible. I know what you're thinking... It sounds weird. But no, it came out as a light, sweet beer and I loved it. They also just released the "Poo-Tee-Wheat" with apricot wheat, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries. SUMMER IN A GLASS. There was also a syrup beer and a 9.6% bacon-infused imperial stout that was revealed later in the evening. The owner was awesome to talk to and enthusiastically told about some of the crazy concoctions he has made. We also learned that Books & Brews holds movie nights once a week and releases a new brew once a week as well. The place also has games and used books and therefore would be a great place to hang out.I didn't get to talk to Taxman Brewery or J & J Winery as much, but I did also enjoy their options. I tried a Blood Orange wine at J & J which was very sweet and unlike anything I'd had before. Definitely enjoyed all the unique options at Tasting Society. There was also the "Scratch" food truck which had a variety of food, live music, and an art display that really added to the event atmosphere. Everyone was super friendly and my friends and I ended up meeting a lot of cool people. We will definitely be back at the next one. $12 was a deal considering how many drinks we got.

I love it when Brooke K. and I are on the same page, because then I can write, "Ditto to what she said". I also love being able to taste great Indiana beer for cheap, yet at the same time not feel overwhelmed as I can get at a proper beer festival. ("Ahhh, what beers should I try before I don't remember trying them?!") To all you beer snobs, know that Indiana on Tap's Tasting Society is the hot new place to eat, drink, and trade (in the parking lot, not inside of the venue). Follow Indiana on Tap on Facebook or Twitter for the 411 on upcoming gatherings.

How do you throw a great party? Combine these key ingredients and toss them into a great location - The Speak Easy! *2 breweries *1 home brewer *1 Winery/Meadery *1 artist *1 band*1 food truck *200 Good PeopleThis unique event is hosted by Indiana on Tap and will be celebrated monthly, in fact tickets are currently on sell for the next Tasting Society event happening Friday June 26th featuring: Taxman Brewery, Books and Brews, a home brewer (TBD), Artist Casey Parmerlee, The Scratch Truck, Music, and more. Each month a new set of key ingredients will be showcased. The month of May featured Scarlet Lane, Noble Order, Centerpoint Brewing (the home brewer), J&J Winery, artist Andrea Dudgeon, music by the Ukuwailers, and Caveman Truck. I was really impressed by Centerpoint, in fact their offerings were my favorite of the whole night. They should definitely set up brick and mortar. Their Belgian Dubbel was on point! I appreciate that Indiana On Tap showcases a home brewer. It's refreshing to check out " a rookie" and hopefully it will be neat to see how they grow from "a rookie" to a seasoned pro. What a great opportunity for them and a great chance for me to check them out! Your $10 ticket price (plus fees) gets you 12 tickets. Each ticket is good for a 3oz sample or 4 tickets gets you a 12 oz pour. You can purchase additional tickets as well. That price is seriously a great value for all that is included. You can't beat that deal (drinks, music, art, oh my)! In addition, you are welcome to trade beers which can be set up on their beer trading forum in advance. Personally, I wish I could keep beers long enough after I have purchased them to trade. This event gives me a reason to stock up on rare beers and hold them hostage for trade. Who knows maybe this will happen one day. I would love some Pliny given the opportunity (wink wink nudge nudge). This event is limited to 200 people which allows you plenty of time to mingle with the brewers. Water is also provided. This location in Broad Ripple is perfect and the Speak Easy is such a great space. My only disappointments with this event were I had tried everything brought by Scarlet Lane & Noble Order. As this event is geared towards craft beer lovers it would be wonderful to highlight a unique or special offering from each brewer along with some flagships for those that haven't tried them before. Also the home brewer area got a little congested in the corner by the stairs going up to the second level. It would be nice to see them have a bit more space. All in all a great opportunity to check out a variety of local businesses in a small intimate setting. I like that every month it will be different and you can check out something new. Thanks Indiana On Tap for throwing one heck of a party!

I was there for the Rhinegeist Indy kickoff. Rhinegest was there along with Circle City Zymurgy, Creatures of Habit. All beers were served we the Bottom's Up dispensers, it was funny watching people put their finger on the bottom of the cup and spill it. I was excited for Rhinegeist as they said they were bringing some special taps that to my knowledge never appears. CC Zymurgy was the savior of this event. It was very hot inside.

As a 2 year member of the tasting society I think this is such a great concept to try to get people out and exploring the local beer scene. Since they have implemented the app it has made things SOOO much easier and I love that they are now making any new location they add while you have an active membership available to you. Aside from the discounts I love they offer events such as the monthly tasting society events. It allows you to try different breweries and brews you might not normally have tried. I wish they would offer even more events though and also move the monthly events around the city more. They always seem to be in broad ripple which is less convenient for people who live downtown or on the south side.

Wow! This event blew me away! For $15 a ticket you get a sample cup and all the unlimited samples you want!! This event was held at The Hatch in broad ripple. We arrived around 8 pm and there was plenty of parking. I have to say the Hatch is quite lofty and very eclectic. It has very chill vibes and crowd seem to be young working professionals who are there to sample local craft beers. There was a total of 4 breweries showcasing magical juice of craft beers. I honestly dont remember what I was drinking but they they were all fantastic. Some of those beers had woodsy and earthy taste but by that moment I was on a good one so I couldnt registered if I liked it or hate it LOL Overall, I love this event and cant wait to go to the next one. The way they dispense the beer is sooo cool! The beer has some kind of magnetic latch that when you push down onto the beer tap, the beer floats up. I know this is probably not a new thing, but my beer mind was blown! Because of this event, I signed up for there membership. I havent used it yet, but by looking at the app there is lots of great deals for local craft beer. Never thought I like beer so much until moving to dinner. But so glad that there is a club that introduces you to new craft beer. Can't wait for the next event!

This event was middle of the road for me. I think the concept and location are great. The Speakeasy was more than enough space for the number of people. One downside for me however was the noise levels were just a bit too high and made conversation with other attendees or the brewers a bit difficult. The beers available were mostly the standard ones available from the breweries that were present. It would have been a bit more interesting if they brought out some beers that you were less likely to have already had from that brewery. The homebrewer brought a dubbel that was probably the most memorable from the night. I'm going to keep an eye out on this event and definitely try to make it if they have breweries going that I haven't made it to before. Or if it's an otherwise free Friday night, cause the $10 price is hard to beat.

For those of you that don't know, this is a Monthly (ish) event put on by Indiana On Tap. I say Monthly-ish because there will be a few months out of the year that just won't work out. But, the months that it does, you should be here! IOT brings in the best breweries around the state each month and offers a very low priced ticket so that you can come in and enjoy craft beer that you normally would not get to enjoy. Mix that with an Indiana Winery, a local artist, a local business, and a musician and you have a great way to start your weekend!

I bought a Groupon for my son and his girlfriend for Christmas. When they redeemed the Groupon, Indiana on Tap charged them $10, not the $1 noted on the Groupon. Instead of arguing, my son just agreed to it; however, he forgot he already had a membership which was set to auto-renew. When the membership automatically renewed, he called and asked Indiana on Tap to cancel that membership and refund his membership fee. They said they weren't able to give a refund once a membership was paid for but did agree to cancel the new membership---the one he only paid for which he only paid $10! So they can give a refund on a $10 membership but not a $60 membership??? Needless to say, I'm not happy with the way this was handled. Think twice before buying a membership.
