Ever since they switched to Horseshoe, the machines loosened up. They definitely upgraded their air filtration system. Unless someone is blowing it in your face, you can't really tell that there is smoking. With that being said, come on Indiana get rid of the smoking casinos. It's so old school. Huge variety of games. Workers are super friendly. They added a brew brother's restaurant which is nice. Nothing that blows you out of the water but nice. Fun time. Oh yeah. Last time I was there. They did a really nice job on this renovation. Tough location, but a genuinely nice facility.

I have been going to this casino since the day that they put a casino there. This casino is on my way home from work so I stop pretty frequently. They have four different options for food, they have a deli/ snackbar sort of place, they have a buffet, they have a pub where you can get a burger and other options, and they have the upscale Center Cut Steakhouse. I think there is another place to eat over where the horse track is but I just don't go over there often enough to know. They always keep the restrooms clean and the toilet paper filled in them. The rest of the casino is kept pretty clean as well. They have just recently added table games that are live. I have not played any yet but it looks like people are having a good time at them. I usually play slots for awhhile and they have a lot of interesting slot machines. The if you have a diamond level players card or higher there is also another option for eating that is upstairs in a private Lounge where they have a bar and food service that is at no cost I think it doesn't open until 5 p.m.I plan on continuing to go to this casino.

I am not a gambler. I get high anxiety over most things, and mindlessly throwing away money without any sort of return is something that'd I'd believe would trigger anyone. Plus, I don't know how the machines work. I will admit it - I literally had no clue what the buttons or signs meant - until my friend showed me last week at Indiana Grand.Indiana Grand is located 20 minutes outside of Indy. It's an average sized casino that seems to run Shelbyville all by itself. Parking was rather confusing. I eventually made it to the parking garage, but I also had a mini adventure through the bare valet and high roller parking lots.As I fully admit I have little to no casino experience, I was very exited over the free pop machines. I don't even like Pepsi, but in the words of my dad, if it's free, it's for me! Sorry. I had to say it.Anyway, the casino itself has a decent amount of slots. It's smaller than the Jack casinos you find in Cincinnati or Cleveland, and definitely no comparison to the miles of machines I'm currently finding myself in in Las Vegas, but it certainly does the trick for your mid-week casino run. At least I think it does - again, not a gambler.I was surprised to find that Indiana Grand is a part of Caesar rewards. I myself am a MGM slut because I am my mother's daughter, but I can appreciate Caesar's outreach. My friend was excited that they were part of the Caesar's family because they offer her favorite style of slot. As a non-gambler, I do not have such preferences, but I'm happy she's happy.I wouldn't go out of your way for Indiana Grand. After all, it's in the middle of nowhere (kind of, 20 minutes driving is when I'm at the wheel and I have my fair share of speeding tickets), but if you enjoy gambling, it's a cute little stop to and from Indy or Cincy.

The name has now changed to Horseshoe Casino and is owned by Caesar's. Even when it was Indiana Grand the slots were stingy but at least then they were operational. Virtually every bank of slots had at least one machine that was out of commission and a lot had more than one. I am not a casino connoisseur but over my lifetime I have been more than a few and have never seen so many in disrepair. The only reason that I didn't give a one star review is I do enjoy the horse racing. Again, it's not the prettiest racetrack or the one with the best viewing options, it's ok. Arlington Park though is so much better and would be my go to for horse races if we still lived closer to it.The one good thing about checking out Horseshoe is it eliminated any desire I might have to go back if the gambling bug hit. There are just too many better choices within a reasonable driving distance. I know that sounds harsh, but with the money that casinos such as this one bring in, they can and really should certainly do better.

Indiana Grand has gotten so much better when Caesar's took over. Ever since the new management, the machines work most of the time (they were ALWAYS broken), and they've added live tables. This is easily the best casino in Indiana. I absolutely loathe slot machines, but this location has so much more, including roulette (electronic or live), blackjack (electronic or live), craps (live only), poker, and so much more. I've had great nights here winning wise, and not so great nights. It all depends if lady luck wants to be my friend that specific night :)You can get drinks at the main bar and a bar called the winners circle in the casino. They also have a fancy steakhouse, my guess for the people who win big! It's a little frustrating though that they shut down the Winners Circle food part due to COVID, but the expensive steakhouse is still open. My biggest complaint about this place is the smoking. Sure, they have a non smokers room, but the smell is so potent from the rest of the casino, it really doesn't matter that there's a non smokers room, because you can't tell the difference. Its so bad that I don't even bring in my coat anymore, and I immediately have to throw my clothes in the washer as soon as I get home. I dont understand why this is still allowed when smoking in Indiana has literally decreased from 21% in 2005 to 14% in 2019. Its hard to understand why the other 86% of us that don't smoke have to endure it while we play, when smokers can literally go outside, like everywhere else.If you can get past the smoke and are looking for a great casino, this one is it.

Don't waste your money. long ago there was a clear setup with lots of poker machines and you could get some play. Now you're lucky if you can get a machine at all since most are closed. the machines that are opened are filthy. What sums it up is I will never go back. We used to go about 3 times a year not anymore

This has to be the absolute worst casino in Indiana. I never win anything even playing thousands of dollars. I have finally learned my lesson and will not be going back.
