Saw Gladiator 2 in IMAX and had a bloody good time. Many issues with theaters post covid is audience behavior, I've experienced countless people on their phones and similar disruptions. Times change and so do consumers, people tend to have less respect for the product AMC or Regal offers vs the Indiana State IMAX. I love this theater, it's the one I grew up going to for big movie events. I've seen the Polar Express, Tenet, the Dark Knight rises, Joker, John wick 3, Dunkirk, 1917, Killers of the Flower Moon, and now Gladiator. All in this theater. I have no complaints about the quality of the IMAX presentation. It was perfectly loud, the projection was amazing, and Gladiator 2 was well mixed for the format. The staff are usually nice, the popcorn is how it should be and the soda is fizzy. Always a great experience. The seats are the reason for a four star experience. They're fine. Just fine. Extremely barebones, and a little cramped. I think this is intentional to maximize the number of people in a screening. But they squeak! My chair in the last row released the song of a canary every time I but considered leaning back. I don't think all chairs had this issue, squeaks were not heard when my neighbor adjusted. I heard the occasional squeak from others in the audience, most assuredly the chair. I felt like I was walking on, or rather sitting on eggshells the whole time as to not disrupt the experience of my fellow movie goer!I love this theater and the format! Had it not been as busy I would have simply moved seats, but I couldn't. I really won't let an experience like this stop me from ever returning, because how could I not? One of the biggest projection screens in the Midwest? 12,000 watts of digital audio? Local beer from Metazoa and Sun King? Free covered garage parking? There are so many positives about this place I really hesitate to give it four stars. Perhaps on my next visit I'll just keep a travel can of wd40 with me.

One of just 19 IMAX theaters in the US that can run 70mm projections, this is truly a unique experience with the right films. The screen is massive (my kiddo was terrified at first) -- even I had a hard time taking it in from the third row from back -- and the sound superb. The facility is clean, ticketing process is pretty easy, and garage parking is validated for 6 hours so you can explore a bit of downtown before or after the movie. With the price, I won't be doing this too often - but if you're really, really looking forward to a good film that's showing here, I highly recommend looking into the State Museum IMAX as an option.

The IMAX at the Indiana State Museum is an excellent theater to see a movie plus you get validated parking in the garage. This is the largest screen in the state and plays first run films and IMAX documentaries (Migration of the Monarch Butterflies and The Pandas was excellent). The most recent movie we saw was a special showing of The Godfather. It was packed but the line moved quickly and we had a great time. The concession stand had a line but the staff was quick, friendly, and efficient. They serve all the concession goodies as well as local wine and beer. We purchased the Couples Special with two sodas and a large fresh popcorn. Perfect for sharing. We love the massive screen size and excellent sound system. Viewing a move here is always an enjoyable experience and I highly recommend.

The IMAX theater at the Indiana State Museum is a cool new spot to see movies. The screen is ginormous and the seats are very comfortable. We saw dune part 2 there and I felt like I was living in the movie. A couple downsides were that their tickets are double the price of other movie theaters and half of their food was sold out. They had no pretzels or hot dogs. Their popcorn was kind of cold too.

It's not only the largest screen in Indiana, it's bigger and better than anything you can see in the Midwest. This theatre is a true, full size IMAX theatre projecting movies like Oppenheimer in 70mm. (You can't go see this is Chicago!)The seats are good, parking is easy and the sound quality is perfection. Pro tip, don't sit too close at a true IMAX screen. Regularly, I like to sit closer than halfway and fill my vision for the immersion experience. Movies are about escapism right?! Not here, you can definitely sit too close. We've tried a bunch of seats and farther is better than closer.

It's great to have an IMAX in INDY. The tickets tend to be more expensive but the experience of seeing a movie this way is worth it. The seats are comfortable and do recline just a couple of inches. Leg room can still be a bit tight. I would recommend seats mid way to the back so row G back. Otherwise the screen can just be intense. You definitely want to see Oppenheimer here. Basic concessions are available or hit the restaurant for a really good meal. Parking gets validated which is awesome. It's even fun to walk out to the canal for a bit after your movie.

This past Tuesday they held an Early Access Premiere showing the new Top Gun Maverick movie. I really liked all the effort they put into this sold out event. They had a Hotel Tango Hummer out in the parking garage, LIFT Academy had a flight simulator - that was really fun, Hotel Tango - veteran owned - also had samples of bourbon - we didn't see where those were :-( and they had an organization taking donations for Homeless Veterans and Families (HVAF) here in Indy. My grandpa was a Colonel in the Air Force and my mom is a 20+ year Navy Veteran. I'm a military supporter and supporting these organizations is so helpful to the veterans and their families that need it for all they've done for us. People were buying popcorn, drinks, pizzas, you name it while in line at the concession stand. It moved fast. A couple of people had on their aviators and flight suits. The movie was great. It did get a little warm in there with all the people in the theater. After the movie was over each person was able to pick up a poster and pin. We enjoyed the movie and the thought that went into this event. Thanks IMAX a great place to watch a movie!

The IMAX theater at the Indiana State Museum is a fantastic experience! I've seen several movies there over the years and the quality is always exceptional. There are restrooms outside of the theater along with a nice concession stand. Garage parking validation is provided!

Gayle and I saw the new "West Side Story" in the Imax big screen last week. It was a fabulous and highly entertaining movie that we would highly recommend. Look for Rita Moreno's drug store character. And for those with any Steven Spielberg concerns, rest assured the expert theater hands of Tony Kushner are well placed within this movie. However, as it's now the time of COVID Omicron, the Imax was practically empty when we were there. The good news was that social distancing was easy. The bad news is that the depression of nationwide ticket sales unfairly skews the potential popularity of this movie. The Indiana State Museum parking lot was free thanks to our Imax purchase and getting here and out was really easy. The concessions featured wine, beer, and a fairly decent individual pizza. And of course, there's popcorn. We were here because we had a huge time opening between leaving Bloomington around 10 AM (family visit) and our Alaska flight to Seattle around 6:30 PM. If we schedule like this again, we'll be sure to give Downtown Indy a more complete look or maybe just hit the Museum and/or Imax. The AAA Baseball team also plays nearby, so maybe we'll make it an overnight?
