Ice House Tavern

This bar is a local tradition for New Castle. There are regulars at the counter each day. They have pool tables, a juke box and a lively atmosphere. I sampled the steak sandwich and WOW. They have meat from Rihms locker, and mix it with cheese and onions on a buttery grilled bun. Excellent diner style steak sandwich. The decor is ecclectic and plenty to look at while you have your beer. It reminds me of the Toby Keith song, "I love this bar." There are bikers, farmers, firemen, hippies, chain smokers and boozers. You can go here to laugh and have a conversation with a stranger, or sit in silence at the bar with a drink. It is a true classic "dive bar". It is locally owned, and you can tell that the owner truly cares about her patrons. We stopped in on the evening of Thanksgiving. I thought it was so neat that the owner had assembled a Thanksgiving dinner for all of her normal patrons. You don't find a family, "we are all in this together" atmosphere like that very often anymore.Warning: they do allow smoking.

This is the best place in town to hang out with friends. Owner and Bar Tards are the BEST. But the steak sandwich is the best around!!So when I get a chance, which means when ever I get a day off. You'll find me and my wife at the Icehouse!!!

This is a one of a kind dive bar with really good food! This isn't a fancy restaurant or club, so you should be prepared for a different environment. The day crowd gets really busy but the service was still great. They have lots of events & fun bar games. There's also plenty of parking & its walking distance to other bars too. I'd definitely recommend stopping in!

The food is expensive, they don't serve any of my drinks, the service blew one and the wifi isn't free. Also I heard the owner stole the neighbors dog & took it to the pound instead of returning it. Horrible place full of apparently horrible people for a horribly long and musky time. Skip this dive.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Under new management, this place has went down hill fast. It used to be a great place to enjoy food and drinks with friends but now, you feel pretty unwelcome. Bartenders are very rude and love arguing w patrons. It's just awful, don't waste your money here.
